I really loved our evenings in The Bennet Arms. It is a lovely environment made better by the people. Both Boyd and Sally are fantastic and incredibly kind people. We spent a number of evenings throughout our week away at this pub and cannot wait for the next time we find ourselves in Suffolk. We will certainly be stopping by! Sally, Boyd, thank you for looking after us during the week! 😊

We visited for Sunday roast dinner as has beard good reviews so thought we'd visit ourselves. East to find not too far off A14, decent sized carpark with lots of space, even noticed a gated area at the end for campervans! It was reasonably quiet, small group playing pool, a few watching darts and a couple of tables occupied with various sized groups. Food was really nice, only negative was beef was slightly overcooked and our portion of cauli cheese was considerably smaller than the neighbouring tables! 😂 Staff were welcoming and friendly. Would visit again. No dogs allowed inside.

Lovely welcome by the staff who are very friendly. The food was very disappointing, I had a sirloin steak which was very overcooked and tasted like it had a curry coating. I did not say anything at the time as we were with family and I didn't want to cause any awkward situations. Such nice people but pull your standards up if you want people to return.

My son, daughter in law and 2 grandkids stopped overnight while travelling in motorhome. Wow! I'm so glad we did. Staff and locals were amazing and very welcoming. We all had a great meal and a great laugh. They even let the grandkids charge their pads and left the toilet facilities open through the night for us. One negative is that the cook is a Newcastle fan, hahaha. I'm Boro through and through. Great place, thanks, guys

What an amazing pub stop over, the landlord Boyd is very friendly and always accommodating, the locals are friendly (even those that’s popped in for a pint after work in their hi viz and work boots). The food is always spot and and cooked to perfection. Never had a bad meal yet. There is a water tap in the car park and Boyd the landlord will leave the side door open so the toilets are accessible overnight if you let him know they are required. This is our 20th stay over here and will be back. Cheers for another great night Boyd & staff

On arrival at the pub we were greeted by the landlord who made us feel very welcome. We arrived at 5pm to which we booked a table for 19:30. As we took a lovely long walk we admired the lovely countryside feel, with other walkers so friendly. We returned to the pub and sat to order our food. Myself had the lasagne to which was amazing with a lovely golden top. Served with home made chips, garlic bread, and a salad to which was fresh and tasty. My partner had the hunters chicken served with salad, chips and coleslaw. Overall the food was lovely. It was a warm welcome and a great atmosphere with locals seeming to enjoy the pub. We asked Boyd if we can have access to the toilets to which he left open all night with access to the outside tap as we had an early start. Family friendly We will be coming back and a massive thanks to Boyd (landlord) Would highly recommend this great pub to other campers.

As a Motorhome stopover the small carpark was peaceful looking at the well maintained field which was closed presumably due to the constant rain making the ground unstable for us… There were no facilities ie toilets or water so not really a Motorhome stopover in truth 🤷🏻♂️ The pub owner was friendly and welcoming as we parked up and we looked forward to our pub meal later after a lovely walk with the dog Unfortunately the pub did not have the country pub feel as we walked in to a tired looking interior with noise, pool table, workmen in dirty hi viz jackets and a toddler riding round on a toy bike, a far cry from the previous pub stopover we stayed at - however we overlooked it as you can’t judge a book by its cover as they say! The food however sadly did disappoint with my Hunters chicken undercooked, swimming in pink juice covered in melted cheese and raw bacon, while my husband had chicken curry which looked ok but was basically an “Asda microwave” We were surprised as we were waiting quite a long time so assumed our food would be fresh and COOKED through! The owners were good enough to change my meal for the curry but it left a bad taste especially as the bill was extortionate considering the food prices were reasonable- possibly they hiked up the drink prices, anyway we won’t be going there again, and just for the record - other Motorhome stopovers have provided toilets and water (outside the pub)

I’ve rocked up at the Bennett Arms having driven from Plymouth to come and visit my Dad, and I couldn’t ask for more. I very rarely give 5 stars (if I ever have), because nothings perfect, but the Bennett Arms is close enough to perfect for me. I rang two days ago to ask for space in their field to park my camper. Totally accommodating and welcoming on the phone, and the camper parking is free! There’s limited facilities with toilets and a water point, but I’m only here one night so don’t need any more. The pub itself is big with an open bar / restaurant area, a pool table and a huge outside space that’s broken into different outside rooms with a big marquee and (what looks like) a BBQ bar. Boyd met me at the bar and helped me park up before popping back to the pub to give the kitchen the heads up, as they were about to close. I ordered a burger and a really good plate of food arrived in front of me. The staff were really friendly and helpful, as was Teddy, a local gent who helped me choose a good local pint 😀 The place is alive with people of all ages enjoying themselves in the restaurant, playing pool or sat in different groups, but there’s a really friendly and happy air about the place. Not dog friendly inside, because of the restaurant, but totally welcome outside, and the pub will deliver food and drink to your camper in their field if you like. 😀👍 Great place.

We have never been to the Bennet Arms in Rougham before because until recently it was only open after 5pm during the week, which wasn't much use to us. We were delighted to discover on a recent trip to Rougham that there is new management and with it more user friendly openings hours. One Wednesday me and the missus went to check it out and we were impressed with the whole set up. Not only is the bar friendly and recently refurbished, there was a pool table, dart board, they were showing Sky Sports (only in the bar) and there was a huge area at the very back with a big playing field and fairly modern playground area for the kids. The food menu is very very affordable. Big sandwiches, chips and salad for only a fiver, for example. There was an extended menu for the evenings that were available to us, need be. They serve food all day. There is an extensive drinks menu too.The new landlords Sally and Boyd (sound like old Aussie soap characters) are very friendly and have only just taken this pub on. This is their first pub and they have big plans for the future for the pub as a community asset and a place where families are very welcome. We thoroughly recommend The Bennet Arms to anyone, with or without families. You will eat and drink well without spending a fortune and you will have fun.

What an amazing array of flavours. Each course was described by the chef when delivered. Small dining room, you watch the food bring prepared. Service is attentive and friendly. Absolutely first class!

Had an absolutely brilliant meal with my family here tonight. Great food, great service. Ali was an absolute delight, his humour and charm made the experience priceless!

NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED :-( The Plough at Rede is one of Suffolks best kept secrets. A thatched pub with oak beams, an open fire, all tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Rede. Stunning location, fabulous atmosphere with a warm welcome and the best food for miles around. Brian and Joyce have been running the Plough for over 30 years with customers returning time and time again. Ide give 100 stars if I could.
