The best restaurants in Datchworth & Aston East Hertfordshire East of England

First time visiting yesterday.Highly recommended. Proper old boozer. Friendly welcome from customers and staff alike.Had a nice pint of Oatmeal Stout.

Top notch americano one of the best i have had. Friendly and warm service and charming cozy space with a garden space too.

4 of us booked on the day for a Sunday Lunch, the pub was busy with a great family atmosphere. We were welcomed very politely at the bar area and taken to our table. Although it was busy the service was excellent, the drinks came quickly, with no pressure to order food straight away. We all had roasts and some sides, which were all excellent and more than enough food for us all. Thank you to Shaney and her great team for such an enjoyable afternoon.

Really nice food, friendly staff

Although my previous visit was some while ago, this beautifully-maintained venue has not changed. The environment, the service, and the food on my recent visit was as good as ever.

The staff were lovely & helpful. But I had the slow cook beef rib, that was so tough I couldn't cut it. I told them. They offered another one or something else. I had fish & chips. The fish was OK, but the chips were dry & tasteless. The restaurant was empty & I can see why. Shame. It's such a lovely looking pub & staff brilliant.

Rural setting adds to the appeal of this charming pub. Food was good. Service was efficient but not as engaging as could have been. A solid 4 stars. Recommended.

Stopped in for a spot of lunch after a walk in the surrounding area on a Saturday afternoon. The bar area was fairly busy with a number of punters watching the rugby. Nice looking little pub where you order food at the bar. We ordered two burgers (you pay per 3.5lb pattie, we had two on each burger) at £13.50 each. Please note that chips are ordered separately at £4.50 a (smallish) portion. The food was nice enough, not too dissimilar to a Five Guys burger in presentation (wrapped in paper) and taste. My overriding thoughts are that the food and drinks were overpriced for what you get and for this, I wouldn't return. Total bill with the two burgers, one portion of chips, a pint and a double gin and tonic came to £48.50.
