The best restaurants serving British food in Datchworth & Aston East Hertfordshire East of England

Arrived for a Sunday Lunch booked for 12.00, we got there at 11.50, the doors were all open but we did not feel welcome and were told that they don’t open till 12! The food was fantastic and the young girl that served us was very friendly, but did not know much about the beers on offer It was perfect for us, but it could of been a bit more welcoming

W be just moved to the area and this was our first lunch out and it absolutely did not disappoint. Firstly the team were super friendly and helpful. The pub is in a beautiful village location and the restaurant is lovely. The starters we had of steak tartare on toasted sourdough with marmite butter was astonishingly good! The whitebait with tartare sauce was great and the crispy slow cooked bacon nuggets were unreal and the burnt apple sauce was a triumph. The mains were equally good, I had confit corn fed chicken with Greek salad (deconstructed), with large couscous and whipped feta and I’m not sure I can explain how good it was, I cleaned the plate! The fish and chips were a very generous portion and again perfectly cooked, the kids cheeseburger and chips was polished off in double quick time. If you’re in the Stevenage area I would highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed. It’s a perfect 10/10 from me!

Although my previous visit was some while ago, this beautifully-maintained venue has not changed. The environment, the service, and the food on my recent visit was as good as ever.

We chose to get married here from the venue location and views, the food and the service. None of these things let us down. Considerable amount of drinks included in price. Really great evening. Had a blast and really enjoyed every moment
