The best restaurants in Moulsham and Central Chelmsford East of England

This is my fifth time in the last month ordering Kaani Kaana. The quality of food is impeccable especially considering it is a take away not a restaurant. The staff having been extremely welcoming from the first time I have entered. I have recommend to all my friends and family and believe the prices are extremely cheap for what you get.

I absolutely adore this little gem of a coffee shop, and best of all it’s dog friendly. A lovely selection of food/ pastries etc and great selection of teas and coffees. The doggies also have a great selection to choose from - my boy loves the doggie sausage! The staff are friendly and polite, and always greet with a smile. The cafe is always clean (apart from the daily muddy paws - totally acceptable) and there is a customer toilet too. We love sitting outside whatever the weather as the awning keeps us dry / shaded and some mornings you can get a beautiful sunrise.

We were passing by the stall and my son asked if he could try Caribbean food for the first time so we made a spontaneous stop. We tried a takeaway portion of jerk chicken & rice mixed with a bit of BBQ to tone down the spice for my young daughter who was also keen to try. It was fantastic! Their first try definitely won't be the last!

Maura's Bakery has the tri-factor of having amazing food, incredible value and wonderful service. I visited this weekend with my husband, three year old and one year old and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was everything I could have wished for and I am unbelievably jealous my husband works in Chelmsford now I've under covered this gem as it means he can have amazing lunchtime treats. Our marriage is dependent on the doggy bags he brings home! Thank you again for the food but also for your warm hosting. After eating here once I can easily say it's my favourite place to eat in Essex.

Everything is great about the Pitta. Loved the taste and the way it was made.

Had a very pleasant Sunday family gathering here (24/9/23). The live rock covers band added to the party and thankfully our table was deliberately reserved for us away from the band as we had a small toddler with us who slept through the music. The staff were friendly and very attentive and the relaxed atmosphere made the selection of hot and cold tapas very tempting. All my family thoroughly enjoyed their dining experience and we shared a considerable chunk of the menu. As most of the food is authentically imported from Spain a few items were unavailable but we were expertly guided to suitable alternatives. I wanted authentic, good quality tapas in a genuine Spanish style restaurant and that is exactly what we got! I have no complaints,so thank you El Chigre 2, we will be back soon!!

Stunning food, found the gem last week, chef is amazing

Ordered burgers and Lamb shank Delicious burgers with two patties in each burger. Lamb shank was nicely cooked and well seasoned.

The best food, they will make whatever you want. Wings are unreal and service from some absolute legends. Would recommend.

The sandwiches and cakes are very good but the sausage rolls are better. They are tasty and the pastry is excellent , the King of sausage rolls!

The best Indian I’ve ever had. All fresh vegetables, no generic oily red over cooked sauces…beautiful tasting and made and served with care

I made a booking last Thursday as it was my Bday yesterday Bank Holiday Monday. I turned up with my partner to find that they had only opened the restaurant for our booking. They could have called us and cancelled but because it was my Bday they didn’t. I’m astounded they did that and very thankful as the whole meal was absolutely amazing 🤩 We will definitely be going back ! Beautiful place, Chef and waitress. Thank you Amalfi 🙏🫶

I had the Baji wrap and it was amazing! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful too. My wife and I went for lunch and after the cafe closed my wife realised she left her bag and car keys. The staff were incredibly fast at replying to my wife’s message after closure and came back to the cafe to let me pick up her bag. I highly recommend this place!

This place exceeded my expectations! The sushi was very fresh and tasty and the tempura prawns were very crispy! The owner was very friendly and he suggested some different sushi rolls for us to try and they all tasted amazing. I only had one picture because my boyfriend and I ate all the food so quickly😂 The best sushi in chelmsford I have tried so far I would definitely go again.

Food was outstanding very good wine and prosecco, service very good great atmosphere very relaxed comfortable will definitely be going again highly recommended
