Its 1 of the best cafes in ilkeston and the food is freshly cooked to order the drinks are nice too and all the staff are very friendly polite too and other customers are friendly too who come into the cafe

This is my second visit to ALG but it most definitely will not be my last. We had several bacon butties and a slice of flapjack. They were all made freshly to order and in really quick time and I'm informed by those who ate them they they tasted delicious. The bread is all fresh and absolutely lovely and definitely by far the best flapjack I've ever had.

Delicious food, great options for vegetarians, always arrives hot and speedy! Outstanding

This takeaway is definitely the BEST in the area. IGNORE the petty, ignorant, and ill-informed reviews - the food here is AMAZING! Anyone criticizing it clearly does not appreciate what quality is when they see it. (probably have never been to China or Hong Kong, to know what Chinese food is really like - I have!) Great service and always seeking to improve and expand their menu options. If you want high-quality food, then you will not go wrong with this takeaway.

Order from here after a recommendation, was really surprised, food was great, and miles healthy than the other options around. Think I found a new place to order from when staying in Derby.

We were absolutely thrilled to have Adele at April Delights create another special cake for our family. After she made our wedding cake back in 2021, which was stunning and delicious—we knew there was no one better to make the cake for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Once again, Adele exceeded our expectations. The cake was beautifully decorated with such attention to detail, and it tasted just as incredible as it looked. She truly made the occasion even more memorable. Thank you, Adele!

Visité SJ’s Café el lunes 10 de junio y me quedé absolutamente sorprendido cuando salí. Vivo a solo 5 minutos de distancia y cada día paso por aquí para llevar a mis hermanos menores a la escuela cerca, y siempre tengo la tentación de entrar (mientras que al mismo tiempo trato de cuidar de mi cuenta bancaria 🤣) y hoy pensé en tener un desayuno apropiado en lugar de un poco de cereal en casa. Entré y ya estaba sorprendido. Un bonito diseño de interiores, colores encantadores, atmósfera de lata, radio encendida, y una cosa para mí especialmente trabajando en catering yo mismo, sabiendo dónde se está preparando su comida y bebida. Pides en el mostrador y puedes ver tus bebidas hechas. Y la cocina está justo al lado del mostrador. Pedí un desayuno grande todo el día y un café, que llegó al precio extremadamente asequible de £ 9. 20 £ 8 para el desayuno que incluía 2 salchichas, 2 tocino, 2 huevo, 2 hachís, frijoles, tomate, champiñones y 2 rebanadas de tostadas con mantequilla (también podría ser pan con mantequilla). Dije que si no podía tomar tomate o setas y no había ningún problema y me ofrecieron un hash extra! Lo cual no me importó en absoluto. Fui y me senté con mi café (que más tarde me dijeron que eran recambios gratis) y esperé mi comida que venía perfectamente presentada, ¡y visualmente! Fue absolutamente increíble! Recién cocinado y podía oírlo todo chisporrotear mientras esperaba. ¡La mujer en cuyo nombre estaba Sarah era una estrella! ¡Gran conversación también! El lugar también estaba ordenado, barrido regularmente y bien mantenido parecía! También tiene un aseo que no esperaba para un café pequeño como este. Personalmente, si quieres ir a algún lugar para un desayuno APROPIADO (ninguna de estas cosas McDonalds) este es el lugar! También reciben pedidos a través de Just Eat & Uber, pero luego te pierdes el lugar encantador en sí! 10 / 10 de mí y volveremos de nuevo! PD en mis fotos no me acordaba de fotografiar el brindis pero todos sabemos como es el brindis.

great eatery, fantastic staff, and great food. lunch time it can be very busy. best tea and coffee in the area I think. I call most weeks usually alone or with a friend. mostly i have toast or cheese on toast my favorite. but i have tried steak Canadian and now that's also a favourite of mine. A few times I called in with my husband for a roast usually we have pork and all the trimmings. good sized portions and very well cooked. I recommend you try it but to be sure of a table you are best avoiding lunch time. Its a friendly but sometimes a little noisy cafe, but we love it.

What a Bakery!! Everything available is the highest quality. Breads are excellent & taste (& feel!) like real bread should. Spoiled for choice, if you're in the area, call in you won't be disappointed. If you're not - then go there anyway.... The Baked goods are also excellent and having sampled quite a choice I know what my favourite Cake is (I bought nearly all the lot on my last visit), I'm keeping it to myself though in case they run out. I'll be putting in an order before I go to make sure I get some next time. Staff are really nice people, helpful & knowledgeable. Coffee is also very good which is a bonus.
