Proper Thai @ The Cheiftan in High Peak

The best Thai food I've ever eaten. Stunning. This is top quality restaurant standard food. Really really good. Zero room for improvement.

Value for money yes, authentic Thai food NO. I’m not slating the place, drink prices reasonable, food prices reasonable, service was okay, the lad was doing his best…. Forgot my Mrs meal…. We all got hot food for a good price…

Wow! Absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere! We visited on a Saturday and was not expecting this. We went for the mixed Thai platter and each dish was gorgeous. I had option B with Thai green curry, chicken satay, rice and chicken salad. We even had to try the pudding and that was so tasty too! Defo recommend!

Excellent food and friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is pleasant and the entertainment is very good. We have only one slight criticism, children should be kept under control, they run throughout the pub restaurant when drinks and hot food is being served, there should be signs in the pub/restaurant asking parents to keep their children under control for safety reasons.

The food prepared is authentic. I’ve had the sea bass and green Thai curry, with a change from rise to noodles. (Not sure of the menu name) truly amazing. If you like fish you will like this dish No frozen packed spring rolls,these are all hand made on site. The service from the ordering of the food to the delivery to your table is no trouble, no disappointment in this area. This is why I’ve given * * * * *

We ordered two meals from the specials. Really tasty and fresh. Great value for money. The chefs came and checked we were happy with our food. Highly recommended. Very relaxed atmosphere

We dined at the Chieftain last night with friends who came on our recommendation, they were extremely pleased with the menu and food, they also liked the friendly atmosphere and liked the fact that Champ the chef made time to come and speak to us. All the staff at the Chieftain are very friendly and welcoming. We are also looking forward to the new menu that Champ is preparing. 😋😋 Colin & Sheryl

food came quickly, friendly staff got to speak with the cooks, the place had a nice warm ambient environment would recommend.

Keen to try another local Thai restaurant but frankly was a little underwhelmed. It was fine, but Thai can be so good and this wasn't. We tried the boxes but didn't really enjoy eating this way. it's a nice idea but i think would have been better served with a main plate and side plates, it certainly would have been easier. Box A appealed, I was expecting chicken satay, one of my favourites, but got satay chicken which was dry and unappetising. Finally, the desert choice, very ordinary and nothing Asian, The "sundaes" were just ice cream with sauce. For £5, buy some squirty creme and add flaked chocolate, fresh strawberries or chopped fudge. With a better quality sauce this would be a proper sundae, but I think something Thai, perhaps mango and sticky rice, would have been more appropriate?
