Sj's Cafe in Leicester

I visited SJ’s Cafe on Monday 10th June and was absolutely amazed when I came out. I live only 5 minutes away and everyday walk past here to take my younger siblings to school just nearby, and always get the temptation to go in (whilst at the same time trying to look after my bank account 🤣) and today thought to have a proper breakfast rather than some cereal at home. I walked in and already was surprised. A lovely interior design, lovely colours, can atmosphere, radio on, and one thing for me especially working in catering myself, knowing where your food & drink is being prepared. You order at the counter and can see your drinks be made. And the kitchen is just along the counter. I ordered a Large All Day Breakfast and a Coffee, which came to the extremely affordable price of £9.20. £8 for breakfast which included 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 egg, 2 hash, beans, tomato’s, mushroom & 2 Slices of buttered toast (could also be buttered bread). I said if I could have no Tomato’s or mushroom and there was no issue and was offered an extra hash! Which I at all didn’t mind. I went and sat down with my coffee (which later on was told it was free refills!!!!) and waited for my food which came neatly presented, and visually spot on! It was absolutely amazing! Freshly cooked and could hear it all sizzling away whilst I waited. The woman in whose name was Sarah was a star! Great conversation too! The place was also tidy, regularly swept and well maintained it seemed! Also has a toilet which I didn’t expect for a small cafe such as this one. Personally, if you want to go somewhere for a PROPER breakfast (none of this McDonalds stuff) this is the place! They also do take orders via Just Eat & Uber, but then you miss out the lovely place itself! 10/10 from me and will defo be back again! p.s in my photos I didn’t remember to photo the toast but we all know what toast looks like.

Food was absolutely spot on! Best breakfast I’ve had for a while. Staff were lovely too! Will definitely be coming back.

Service and food was excellent and very fairly priced will definitely be back and would definitely recommend to anyone

* So we are clear, this was food ordered and delivered through Just Eat* We have been happily been using SJ's for the last year or so with no reason for complaint for lunchtime deliveries for our business in Oadby, Leicester. Over the last few months I have noticed a deterioration in the quality of the food, orders slightly wrong, notes for restaurant not being followed etc, but not sufficiently to make any kind of complaint or leave a bad review and wondered if there has been a change of management or staff recently? Today, 24/1/24, an order was placed and it was delivered. Again part of the order arrived wrong. We rang the restaurant to politely ask if they could deliver the item correctly to which they responded NO, ask Just Eat for a refund completely missing the point that the persons order that was wrong was left with no food. Whilst I understand we are all humans and mistakes can be made, surely there has to be a customer service element that would suggest that the mistake should be rectified? Getting a refund does not rectify the mistake and certainly doesn't quell the persons hunger. Come on SJ's where is your customer service?

This place is spotless and smells so fresh! The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help and didn't mind when we took a little while to decide, the food is fresh and tasty, everything about this place is perfect even the price

Excellent service, value for Money and Fantastic food I went with my partner and teenage daughter and we all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be visiting again…

Although I only nipped in for a bacon, tomato and mushroom cob I’m extremely fussy when it’s comes to the bacon. I explained that I like it burnt (black). It was perfect literally the best I’ve had where’s as other places just leave it on for an extra minute or two this was just as I asked. The staff were polite and the cafe it’s self was spacious and decorated to a high standard. If your in the area it’s the place to be fed.

An amazing small little place! Lovely friendly staff and a welcoming environment. Got to talk with the owner who was kind and explained dishes to me. Red haired staff member was talkative and involved, black haired staff woman was quick with my food and seemed like a nice woman. Definitely would come again, and plan to bring more family and friends! 10/10 from me ☺️
