Really enjoyed my first visit to the Knight and Garter today. Had a really friendly and welcoming service from the staff who helped me feel really comfortable while I was sitting in my wheelchair today.

Popped in for Sunday lunch, had a lovely meal and the service was very friendly. Tai even brought my boyfriend a birthday macaron to say happy birthday, so sweet!

Had a lot of fun here, TAI was our server for the night and she was amazing. She also took good pictures of us. We will surely be back to Knight & Garter

We chose to come here on Sunday for lunch prior to going to a show at the comedy festival, what a gem. Lovely dining area, great food and Evie are waitress looked was very attentive. Lovely atmosphere, and we couldn't fault a thing.

Excellent service from start to finish. Brilliant place and what an experience to find the restaurant behind a “secret” door. Ambience was perfect for any occasion, we were celebrating our daughter’s graduation. Service from Libby and Aodhan was amazing; they are a credit to the place, such wonderful customer service and lovely personalities. There was an excellent range of food and drinks, everyone was catered for. I would visit again and would recommend to anyone. Thank you for looking after us, we had a lovely time.

I came in on Saturday for the first time as it was highly recommended. The staff were excellent. Food and cocktails were exceptional. Marshall went above and beyond with a smile on his face with exceptional service.100% I would recommend to others.

We had our Daughters graduation event at Knight and Garter, service was fantastic, staff very attentive, food was excellent, thank you so much to Libby and staff for making it a very special occasion.

Had a wonderful meal here with friends and relatives. The ambience was first class and the service was excellent. You can always tell a good restaurant by how clean the loos are - and they were spotless!! My sister arranged this night of celebration; her contact was Libby. Libby went above and beyond, was so so helpful, and all with an amazing smile too

Tai was our hostess who was fantastic, very friendly, knowledgable and able to cater to our needs. She liaised with the kitchen to help find a suitable meal for a fussy guest. Yet never let us feel as if we were asking too much. Helped us celebrate an unorthodox “celebration” 😂 … genuinely just made a meal out, an afternoon to remember! Fabulous food, fabulous drinks and the ambience was perfect!

They serve excellent food (we had scrambled eggs and the avocado benedict) and drinks in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The interior design of the pub is very nice. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

We had our Christmas Party at the Knight & Garter, 2nd one at the venue. It was downstairs in their fabulous private function space. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, having our own personal barman who was swift and super friendly. We had the best time and would absolutely come back again. The whole team from Managers Georgie and Kate to the evening events team and the bar staff were all fantastic. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!!

The service was a nay for us and my family. The team was not that welcoming they just wanted us to eat and go back to our home. We were 6 children and 6 adults but non of us really felt the hospitality

We had our office Christmas evening out at the Knight & Garter recently and absolutely everything went amazingly from start to finish! They assisted with all our queries and planning ahead of the event and were absolutely amazing on the night. The food was fabulous and they looked after everyone really well. The staff were absolute gems and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, even when we were let loose in their basement bar "singing" karaoke for the remainder of the night. Thank you all so very much, it was a great night!

Review: Disappointed with lack of understanding during Storm Darragh We had been looking forward to a Christmas get-together with family at this restaurant for weeks. Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh and a red health alert being issued, we decided it was unsafe to drive over 50 miles to attend our booking. While we were deeply disappointed to have to cancel, we were even more upset by the restaurant’s handling of the situation. Despite these extraordinary circumstances being entirely out of our control, the restaurant refused to refund our deposit or even allow us to use the full deposit as credit to reschedule for another day. Instead, they gave us the option to reschedule but with the penalty of losing half of our deposit in the process. We understand that businesses have policies, but we hoped they would show more courtesy and understanding given the dangerous conditions. It felt unfair and dismissive, especially during the festive season when kindness and flexibility mean so much. We regret not being able to enjoy the meal we had planned, but the lack of empathy from the restaurant has left a bad taste in our mouths. We hope they reconsider their approach to customer service, especially in such unforeseen and serious circumstances.

A group of friends meet here in the pub, food is good but some starters and main just bang average. Food took about 45 mins, considering it was 10 of us at lunch time and was the only table. Great atmosphere

We went here for my partners birthday, having dined and drank at the Knight & Garter several times and always enjoyed it. We had a fantastic time with all of us having really fantastic meal's. I had the salmon and risotto and it was so tasty and cooked perfectly. Aswell as the food being amazing for all 6 of us, the service was impeccable. I had to change the booking numbers twice within 24 hours and 2 of our party were delayed ,the staff could not have been any more accommodating and understanding. Georgie on front of house was so lovely and our server Tai was also fantastic, able to give us great recommendations, knowledgeable on the menu , accommodating and friendly. The four friends we came with hadn't dined here before but were all so impressed with the level of food and service too. Thank you so much to everyone front and back of house, it was my partner's 50th birthday weekend and this was definitely his highlight :) Cant recommend enough to anyone needing a great spot to drink or dine in Leicester.

I’m not super easy to wow with food, while i’ve been to a lot of restaurants where the food is nice/ok it’s difficult for me to really be amazed. This food was delicious, I had the chicken with mushroom and dauphinoise truffle potatoes, i do not like mushrooms ever, i finished the mushrooms, the truffle potatoes were divine still thinking about them the day after, the chicken was nice too but nothing insane. My partner had the Salmon and risotto and the salmon was done perfectly. Not crazy for the vinaigrette with the oysters at all but the bloody mary sauce was really tasty, the oysters were clearly very fresh. The dessert portion was tasty but small, perfect to share for us not to be super full up but could probably manage a whole one yourself. Very happy, been to some very expensive restaurants and this blows most of them out the water. Will be coming again.

We met with some friends for dinner, I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant. They were all correct. Food and wine were fantastic with brilliant service from all the staff, comfortable seating with a great atmosphere.

Enjoyed some good in the bar before having a retirement function in The Gallery. Room was excellent and staff very helpful and accommodating.

Delightful pub/ bar/ restaurant! We arrived early for a booking and so sat in the bar area. We were then taken through to the stylish dining room. Attentive staff took our order and remained on hand throughout the evening. We had the mussels and croquettes to start, followed by the chicken supreme and burger (emperor chips added) for mains. All were delicious and generously portioned. If we return to the area, we will certainly visit again!

Truly amazing from the first welcome to when we left, the staff are so warm and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble, Knowledge from staff on drinks and food was so nice helping you make choices on wine etc, we had Sunday lunch which was so nice cooked perfectly. The whole experience was so good I would recommend you visit, you will not be disappointed certainly is one of the best places to visit in Leicester

Came to knight and garter for a nice evening out with my girlfriend, Once arriving we was greeted by Georgie who went above and beyond for the pair of us, after being seated we had our waitress Evie who was such a bubbly young lady, couldn’t help but mention to my girlfriend how polite and kind she was , the food was 10/10 , also the bar staff were so polite and had a great sense of humour

One of the groups main course was late, as in very late, 15 mins. Pretty poor to be honest and definitely overpriced. Really need to pull their socks up. Been here few years back, was ok, but now very poor ..... based on our party of 8 experience.

I visted here today(14.09 2024) with a group of 11 other women for a divorce party. From the miniute we got seated upto us leaving the service was amazing. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Our food arrived efficiently and hot and tasted amazing. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Marshall was one of our servers and nothing was too much to ask.

we had the best night at Knight and Garter! My family were over from Ireland so we took them out for food, the food was amazing every single thing! But the best part was the service! Our waitress Taiyan was a LEGEND💗 we will deffinately be back very soon!

Been here a few times. Today was the first time we’ve eaten here. I had the Beef Shin Ragu sandwich and have to say it was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. The emperor chips were a bit of a disappointment. They looked like oven chips which is a shame seeing as they cost £5.50. The portion sizes overall would not give a ballerina love handles. Another upset was the machine asking for staff tips. Imo, any establishment that asks for staff tips does not pay their staff enough, especially in this age of living wage, and also when their prices are at the upper end of premium.

A beautiful place in the heart of Leicester. We had a sirloin and a burger, with a lovely cheese plate at the end. The knight & Garter has a calm and tidy atmosphere. It’s modern but traditional at the same time. A good place to go to.
