Unfortunately our 1st visit to The Blacklion was very disappointing after being recommended to us.
Very disorganised waited over an hour for our meal to arrive.
Both ordered Chicken in Blue cheese and blackpepper sauce.
The sauce was so thick it stopped in the jug when trying to pour it out.
We did say to a very nice waitress who reported our opinion to the chef.
We were told the sauce was made during the afternoon and admitted it was too thick.
We felt it should not have been served like this.
We paid our bill and left.
Will not be returning.
"Sue" was working on her own- The kiosk was very busy with walkers & cyclists . She produced food and beverages very efficiently and at speed, remining calm, cheerful and helpful throughout the mid-day rush.
What a little gem this cafe is. The cakes and drinks are great and the staff really friendly . Very good value for money .hidden away , you wouldn’t know it was there .
Really enjoyable meal. Bright spacious restaurant. Attentive service, and great food.
The beef bibimbap bbq and the Korean fried chicken were stand outs.
Lovely cute place. I had a jacket potato and very generous portion. My husband said it is the best egg and chips he has ever had. They were very patient with my daughter aswell.
It's no secret how much my fiancee and I love this place. The food is unreal and the staff are warm and welcoming. I've known the owners for years and I always get greeted by the biggest smile each time I go in. They really care about their customers and it shows.
Mark has a real passion for high quality, truly tasty, food. The Sunday carvery is a personal favourite of ours as the meat just melts in your mouth. The standard menu is difficult to choose from as I often want to eat most of the options!!
There is a reason why these guys win awards, you MUST see (and taste) for yourself.

I recently visited Curry Wala and was pleasantly surprised by how authentic the food tasted! The Chicken Biryani was flavorful, aromatic, and reminded me of the biryani you'd find in India – perfectly spiced and cooked just right. The starters were also delicious, with a great balance of spices and texture. If you're craving real Indian flavors, this place is definitely worth a visit!
After using Millie’s for takeaway lunch at work I thought I would go and eat at the cafe, on arrival I found plenty of parking spaces and the cafe inside had a lovely, calm, family feel to it. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and the portions were very generous

I just love this place, every time I come back to Leicester I am sure to visit. It does delicious Ethiopian food that is super cheap. The staff are friendly and always happy to help and they sell some traditional spices and flour.
We stayed here on two occasions, in our campervan to the rear of inn. Quiet and good location. We enjoyed a nights sleep during both our stays.
The staff at the inn are fabulous, welcoming and friendly and the owners are really doing a great job. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the inn was just what you’d hope for, log fire burning in the hearth, dog friendly and lots of positive chatter.
I’d recommend this as a stopover and eatery.
