We stayed here on two occasions, in our campervan to the rear of inn. Quiet and good location. We enjoyed a nights sleep during both our stays. The staff at the inn are fabulous, welcoming and friendly and the owners are really doing a great job. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the inn was just what you’d hope for, log fire burning in the hearth, dog friendly and lots of positive chatter. I’d recommend this as a stopover and eatery.

This is quite literally a gem. I’ve eaten here twice now and the Sunday roast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Very friendly and attentive staff and wonderful ambience.

A quiet, cost pub that serves special menus throughout the week. We went for a romantic Thai meal and it was authentic - great since and good depth of flavour. Accompanied by a good range of drinks and will kept real Ale. Joy, the Thai chef couldn't be more helpful and Rachel and Mark always make is so welcome. Thank you

We have lived in Thrapston for 7 years and driven past this place multiple times. Decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch as had heard about there Yorkshire Pudding Wrap Sunday dinners. We had starters and mains which were really good and the food price is very reasonable. Staff are friendly and the pub has a friendly local vibe. Only slight negative is the cost of spirits - I had a rum (cost of bottle for the rum in the shops is around £20 so not a premium one) and was charged almost £5 for a single and with coke takes it to around £7. So, that was the only issue I had. Would still return as has great food, friendly staff and great choice of gins and rums, but will stick with the gin or rum of the week as they do deals on those.

A gin drinkers paradise where you can chose from one of 70, my wife and friends wife both had the blood orange gin which they loved, we had two decent pints of lager.

14 of us met for sunday roast. Majority of us had the roast beef wrap they offer where it comes out all wrapped in a giant yorkshire pudding! They were just perfect! They then catered also for vegan, gluten free and a fish and chips meal. Great food, great staff, great location. I noticed they cater outside for dog walkers too. Lovely pub and food cant fault it 👌👌👌well done to all!!

I was surprised after we'd booked that they hadn't organised our table. The service was excellent but 1 of the meals came out with the wrong meat and the veg was cold on all our meals and the meats were salty ( to be honest my parents who are elderly didn't want to make s fuss!!). I was also surprised at the cost when 1 of the meals was free.

While out walking the dogs, decided to call in for a swift pint. Food was on offer and did look good. A decent menu with plenty to choose from depending on your taste.

Went on friends recommendation to the pubs Thursday Thai night. We were a party of 4 and all had different dishes and the food was exceptionally good and tasty. A real bonus to have an alternative to the usual choices in the area which are quite limited. The pub itself is excellent with good selection of gins, beers and cider. It is really great to see the owners making a go of it. And I hope they go from strength to strength !

Having travelled to get here it was well worth it. Good variety of choice. We all had 3 different courses and each was well cooked and very tasty. We eat out regularly and would use this place a lot if we lived closer. You will not be disappointed. Thanks to all the staff. It was very busy but we did not have to wait to long for each course.

We entered the Rose and Crown earlier today at about 9.30 am...a surprise to see it was open. We were greeted by a very friendly American gentleman and a female staff member who informed us that they have a licence to serve alcohol at 9 am. After a brief look at the breakfast menu, served from 9-11 on selected Saturdays,we ordered the full English breakfasts which were £9 each which were very nice and accompanied by plenty of toast. After we finished we had a few games of pool in the cozy little games room before having a wander in the rear garden which has a children's play area a decent seating area with pretty views. A gorgeous little pub with excellent service, friendly and prompt which my daughter's and I really enjoyed visiting. Please check opening hours as the Rose and Crown has themed days such as American breakfasts etc and may open earlier than their website states. Visited 12th may 2018.

We found the Rose & Crown through Search for Sites as a stop over in our converted horsebox camper. There was some initial concern at the size of us but with it being during the week we were able to tuck in at the back. The Lanlord & lady (Mark & Rachel) are a lovely hard working pair. With a good beer selection plus excellent homemade sour dough pizzas we sat at the bar chatting to them and locals. It was a great night and will definitely return

Very enjoyable evening out. Small quaint pub in the centre of a village with friendly staff and a log fire burning (Jan). Specialty night -Thai meal served by friendly and attentive Thai staff. Absolutely delicious and thoroughly recommended. Note: its best to book and its a set menu, so if you have dietary requirements, let them know in advance.

A lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Has a small but quaint dining room just off the bar. Small enclosed garden for the little ones, full of toys to keep them amused. A separate outdoor seating area for the grown ups.

It's a long time since I've been in this pub and it has undergone a complete transformation. It is now a small, intimate village pub with lovely open log fire. The decor is simple and subtley complements the traditional features. There is a great range of beers which the landlord changes regularly (and listens to customer's recommendations). Home-made pizzas and a choice of specials are currently available, and I'm told that Sunday lunches are planned soon. The staff are very friendly and the service good. Highly recommended.

I was taken here for afternoon tea by my friend. The whole event was great from start to finish. Excellent selection including sandwiches, mini quiche, crisps, cakes, lemon posset, meringues and scones with cream and jam - all decorated beautifully with edible flowers and pea shoots. I have since been lucky enough to experience afternoon tea at Bettys in York and The Dorchester …..The Boxwood Tea far outshone both of these. Would highly recommend.

Very excited that we've found the perfect night out. The service was incredible, the food was delicious, the wine and drinks brilliant, the atmosphere just perfect. I think this could be the best find for a night out anywhere in the area. Plus the best Espresso Martini I've ever had. Planning the next visit already, thank you so much x
