Another Northamptonshire Pub that made a stranger who only moved the to area at the start of the lockdown very welcome. Gorgeous cosy interior that has not been corporatized or over developed. Friendly locals easy to engage with. Oh and the ale is stunning The village is stunning and sits on the equally stunning Knightley Way among the lightly used back roads around this largely undiscovered section of the county. Restrictions for the crisis are sensibly managed and not at all onerous. Food has not yet restarted but I am sure it wont be long and there is no reason to believe it wont match the excellence of the rest.

I was looking for a stop over for a couple of nights, whilst visiting the Sandringham xmas fair. Stayed at the Crown inn Friday night and Saturday night. The location was spot on. Very reasonable price for a night with a dog and a good full English breakfast included in the price. The evening meals were good. Hot and plenty of it. To top it off, the selection of Beers and Wines were great. We're already looking forward to our return visit maybe early next year. Thank you to Charlotte and the staff for a great couple of days. Tim.

Had a great experience, really friendly staff and excellent service. Food was delicious, and plenty of vegan / vegetarian options. I had the mushroom and ale pie. Ideal location for lunch or dinner after a walk at Stowe Gardens. Definitely would go back. We have pretty high standards but we were impressed, deserves a higher rating on TA than it currently has :)

How I wish this garden centre was closer to where we live! Called in for breakfast on our way home from holiday, brilliant breakfast, the sausage was the best I've ever had. The garden centre complex is amazing, loads of shops, a beauty salon, barbershop, shoe shop, aquatic supplies, antique centre..we could've spent all day here! Everywhere appears to be easily accessible for disabled..just a lovely place to visit. Special shout out for the waitress who cleared our table..lovely friendly lady, who made the whole experience even better.

I came here on Friday night with my partner for the first time and we weren’t disappointed. The Fox is a lovely old pub with a great atmosphere and attentive staff. I ordered the crab and lobster fish cakes and my partner had the venison burger. Both really delicious and very filling. We were sad we didn’t have room for dessert! Thanks so much. We’ll definitely be back.

Over the years I have frequently had breakfast and lunches in Wellingtons and have always found them to be good, excellent in fact. This time my wife and I decided to go for Sunday Lunch, fully expecting a similar or better experience than before but it was not to be. Arriving at 13:00, we were advised that the only Sunday Roast item they had left was Gammon, they had been busy and sold out of everything else. Surprised as they have been operating for many years and would normally have sufficient supplies to last longer than 13.00. My wife opted for the Chicken and Leek pie and I ventured over to the carvery and waited, waited, waited. Stood looking at a small piece of Gammon and a variety of veg. keeping warm under a heat light whilst staff walked past clearing tables, delivering food etc.. On two occasions I was advised someone would be along to serve me but it must have been all of 10-15 minutes that I was hanging around before someone came out of the kitchen to carve me 3 slices of ham. DIY selection of cauliflower Cheese, roast potatoes, beans, carrots, parsnip and a dry Yorkshire pudding. No gravy visible so had to do with that. Returning to my table, my wife still hadn't received her Chicken pie so I got started on my food. Everything was hard, whether from being over or under cooked it was difficult to say. The roast potatoes were almost solid, as was the parsnip and the Yorkshire - terrible. Only saving grace was the Gammon. Very well cooked, could be sliced easily and tasty. Everything else was as near inedible as you could get. My wifes pie arrived and as she described it, pie good but everything else not so. In short, what has happened to this previously excellent restaurant?
