Absolutely excellent food, service was outstanding the lady that served us, Millie, ensured our night was perfect. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back again.

We came for a Sunday dinner today, it was really cosy and calm despite it being so busy! Nice decor and good presentation, we had a beef roast each which was delicious - we got some side dishes too which was nice to add on! The elderflower spritz was also incredible! This is a go to for me and they made it very well even though there’s minimal ingredients to work with! Finally we had the small dessert and hot drink which we ended up sharing because we couldn’t man the full thing and it was the perfect size and it was a nice ending to the evening! We are heading home with full stomachs and ready for a Sunday nap! Thankyou all!

This was our first time here and we weren’t disappointed found the pub well furnished we had coffee in front of the log fire in a very comfortable armchair whilst waiting for our friends to arrive when we went in to lunch the restaurant was lovely Beth served us and looked after us well nothing was to much trouble for her the food was excellent 3 of us had steak which were delicious the atmosphere was superb and all staff were friendly we live nearly an hour away but we’ll definitely be back to try a Sunday lunch it’s how i would expect an English country pub to be perfect in every way

Millie served us and she was excellent, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The food was so good, lemon sole was incredibly boney, but apart from that the celeriac steak, linguini, rotisserie chicken , all totally delicious.

Fantastic venue. From start to finish the service was flawless. The host Kristian was warm and welcoming and our waitress was very polite and accommodating. The food itself was incredible; perfectly cooked lamb and sweet treats to die for. Would fully recommend and thanks for a wonderful evening.

Came here as a family of four for the Sunday roast. The food was good and the portion size is generous. Personally I would of preferred the beef a bit pinker but I understand not everyone likes it like that . It's a nice cozy pub currently going through a refurbishment so we will definitely give it a go in a month or so . Oh the service is very good .

We haven't been back for a couple of years because it's not very local to us. We through that we will visit again. Very cold inside, sat right in front of the bar next to the open fire which was on but very strange, hardly any heat coming from it !!! Had a large glass of wine £16.35 come on that's is wrong. Main restaurant very cold, maybe because were seated in a corner near a window. Music a little loud, again in the corner underneath a speaker. Food, bland, mushroom starter zero taste, to much onion jam on steak sandwich. Staff, very friendly and helpful.

Upmarket pub dining experience. Quite expensive but very good food cooked well. Homemade chips which a lot of places don't do. I had the steak which was £30 without vegetables. The starters were on average £10 with sweets around £8. They do cheaper options. The food we had was well cooked with quality ingredients. Wine was a tad on the expensive side with the cheaper bottles coming out at around £24. Our party all enjoyed our meals and the serving staff were all very pleasent and helpful. I would recommend this place for a special occasion.

Really nice place,roaring fire in comfortable ,cosy surroundings, but expensive for drinks ,I don't venture out much for drinks these days due to the cost,but here is a place that takes it to another level in my opinion, a pint of lager shandy and bottle of saints non alcohol beer ( small bottle) £11, then when you go to visit the toilets your met with the most grim and run down toilets I've come across for a long while, if your charging those prices how about investing in some decent washrooms.

Superb Sunday roast dinner, again. The beef melts in your mouth and the Yorkshires are MASSIVE!! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough for a Sunday roast. We have tried several places in and around Northampton, and this is by far the best we have tried.

7 of us booked to spend New Year’s Eve at the Cromwell this year. The food was great, the staff were attentive and cheerful and we all really enjoyed ourselves. I will definitely go again.

We have been here a few times and food be good. My problem was the cleanest of the place. Toilets were dirty and need painting and where we were sat in restaurant was full of cob webs, long hair hanging off window cil and the walls were filthy . Needs a good clean and update

Lovey NYE dinner, had three courses and food was perfect. Steak sharer was very good and enjoyed the beef dripping sauce. Magician was a fascinating expirence! would highly recommend coming here :)

Awful, duck noodle salad was dried up duck on coleslaw, not a noodle in sight. Previous visit was greasy belly pork. After many years using Cromwell this is the last time. Very, very dissatisfied.

Went here on the spur of moment for a meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday after leaving Bugbrooke wharf after looking at the horrible menu, the food here was Faultless, the service was great despite the restaurant being full and very busy, the chef even wrote happy birthday in ju on the desert plate, we certainly would go again and highly recommended this pub.
