LEON - Northampton in South Northamptonshire

Counter and kitchen were very clean, tidy and well presented. Probably the nicest Leon I've been to. Staff were polite, friendly and prepared my order quickly.

Nice for what it is if your starving but is advise people if you want nice food don’t go here I had a chilli chicken rice box and the rice was cooked to long so it was some wat hard and chicken looked like it had been sat there all day. Basically ended up just eating rice in a box coz rest of it was ****

I had black eye beans with rice, it was so delicious.

Serve poor quality food. Ordered Thai green chicken curry here and got small amount of half cooked rice with carrots and small piece of chicken.

Great products, amazingly taste. A very archaic ordering system lets it down unfortunately. Touch screens were borderline useless.

The food was decent each time we have been. Good for takeout and snacking in the car.

My very fussy dad thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast here, all the food was cooked to perfection even the egg, he even ate the hash brown and commented that it was just the right amount. The staff member also bought it over to him. I never leave reviews but there’s nothing dad lives more that to whinge so the fact he didn’t stop complementing it says something!

Noi the best experience. Totally against fast-food and when I saw the banner whilst driving on the M1 I've driven to the next junction, came back and around just for the wow factor. Was so hyped about it and in the end it was just a disappointment. Desert to burger - frutty brownie-not my cup of tea-horible taste. Fries loaded with paprika. Had better round the local takeaway the chicken burger tasted bad-something shouldn't be there. Even the greens from the burger had a different ( not healthy) taste to it. And to top it up with the pickled ginger cabbage thing and the probiotic? No comment. Although I was starving I will give Leon a 2/10 for trying to reduce bad fast-food out of our habits. Otherwise it would've been a 1/10

The guys at this restaurant are great. The owner however, not so much. She can be a lot more friendlier. She also had out done me the one time with one of the rice boxes. I was a little disappointed.

If you have to eat in a motorway service area you can't really beat Leon. Food and service usually great, atmosphere not so. But that's not their fault.

Sadly, our experience was very unpleasant. We waited 20 minutes for our takeaway burger meals, which tasted awful. Also extremely overpriced. The rice boxes were sold out, but hopefully, they taste better than the burgers!

Had the satay chicken box meal and the korean chicken wrap. Well prepared, tasted fresh, right temperature and stress free ordering.

There is no longer a Leon here! Very disappointed as I stopped especially on my journey! Please update

Dreadful service with cold food. Ordered breakfast included hash browns before 11:00. Was told that the fryers were now being used for fries, so several customers could not have them. Served by morons. Will never use establishment again.

Thought I'd try Leon for breakfast.Try some healthy breakfast on the move. Ordered Chai latte my wife a bacon egg muffin myself a shaksuka We were 2nd in line at 0830 We waited, waited, latte arrived, was drunk, we waited. I enquired as to how long, got a four word grunted answer when I asked about the food being sat waiting for nearly 10 minutes of "it's a hot plate" Iike the staff I couldn't be bothered So ate a cold shaksuka without a drink.. Shame Poor service Zero customer services skills in attempts to improve on what "inter personal skills they possessed" Shame, won't be back

Overall, it was a good experience. My girlfriend and I ordered a burger and a wrap. They were both good, I am just giving a review of 4 stars and not 5 because it wasn't anything special and I was expecting a little bit more. It's definitely better than a Mcdonald though.

Leon’s is simply the best value and quality service station food you can get. Always fresh and tasty and good value. The breakfast muffin with hash browns and a coffee for £10.

Bit of a wait sometimes, staff are working very hard, but it's worth it for the delicious Leon food. Not sure how they make kale taste amazing, must be some sort of witchcraft involved, but they do.

Dreadful food, chips were very soggy. Chicken was very overcooked and tough. Also foil for wrap stuck to wrap. Also overpriced and took ages to come despite not being busy.

Stopped off for breakfast sign said was food what a joke. Food took 30 mins to get hash browns that were frozen i the middle and muffin was cold and wrong. Got full refund along with 12 other people in the que

Chicken did not taste fresh - felt like it was quite old and reheated. Flavours were okay though.

Services had a fire alarm issue but the Leon staff were excellent. They offered great customer service.

When I come from London with my friends I visited this place , we like this food and friendly people, fast service

I was pleasantly surprised to find somewhere so good, tasty and healthy at a motorway services. I had the moroccan (non) meatballs, a flatbread and a latte. I was impressed with the taste and freshness and will defo eat at a Leon again :-)

Love a Leon! We didn't know this one existed (Google wanted us to go to the next services) so we were really excited to see the sign on the motorway and get lunch that bit earlier. As you can tell by my pictures; we were hangry haha. The lady that served us, don't know her name. 9/9 13:40 (blonde pony and glasses) was very bubbly and friendly. Then about 14:00 a girl with a black pony and piercings went above and beyond to tell us to leave our tray, she would bin it for us. She was very friendly. The food was just as good as imagined. Would recommend 👍

Explained I was on a coach and departing in less than 15 minutes. Lady taking my order checked with the kitchen and confirmed times allowing me to alter my order to what could be prepared in time. Food came on time and was delicious as always. Great customer engagement and service.

I drive up and down the country all week. Would normally go McDonald’s or grab a sandwich. Leon is my new fav. Jerk chicken wrap was delicious

Southbound M1 Services Northhamptonshire. Over £10 for a scraggy bit of tough chicken that didn't come close to filling the bun (unlike the ad) some barely warm potato things and a can of coke. Nice concept but poorly executed and over priced.

The best place to stop for good tasty food on the M1. Ever thing else is well, not as good.

Such a good breakfast. The avocado and halloumi rolls are amazing.

Offer a great cup of tea, with bag you can pull out when you want, choice of milk. The lady who served me was friendly. Sad they are having recruitment issues but if the company only offers minimum wage to be communist subsided by Universal Tax credits - what the hell do they expect? Note that Greg's do appear to have looked after staff far better and I think Greg's seems to engender staff being part of a family even though it's a chain. So I would suggest to Leon stakeholders, management could be doing better, in particular; new CFO who is a short sighted tight arse. I bet he/she goes to sleep chanting EBDITDA repeatedly....

I don't know why they say it's natural food when obviously it isn't. The service was ok.

It’s not often one finds a Leon’s, so decided to grab a bite, even though we had stopped to use the restroom services, at the Northampton location. There was a choice of Costa and McDonald’s as well. Leon has a great menu, photo shows some options, as menu is showcased on rotating slides. Very healthy options including salads and rice with black beans and lentils etc. Wraps and burger options also available. Vegetarian burger option available as well. Leon has their own little exclusive sitting area, very nicely done with comfortable seating. Various size of tables to accommodate a couple, or four or more people. Plenty of spillover seating by the Mc Donald’s The waffle fries with the wrap were piping hot, albeit a bit salty for my palate. Includes a drink in the meal deal, which is just 25 p extra if you were just getting fries and wrap. Almost took coffee, then settled for can of lemonade, so we could hit the road again while the rain had abated somewhat.

Thanks Leon for delicious allergy friendly dinner and calm patient staff. You are one of the few places I can eat on the move (gluten free dairy free) and I really appreciate that you have thought about your menu, have labelled everything well, and have made it easy to search via your website as well. Great service even when they are busy, amazing staff, awesome seats just want I like after a drive, and extra great to have healthy options available 🙌 Leon, you are on a roll, loved the with service, staff, seating area and food. I'll be back, and it's rare I say that for any food at services 👍 Pst your up north Leon near Birmingham is great too but this one wins 🤫

We had wraps, waffle chips, brownies and teas. The fish finger wrap was interesting, don't think I'll try that again. Spicy but gungy. The waffle chips etc were good, the choc brownie and cookie excellent. Full marks for trying to use no plastic wrapping, the plastic teabags and mayo pots were the only failures. The tea and the fruit tea were very good.

Me and my son enjoyed the mouth taste sensation aubergine who new.

Food looked good but sadly the vegan burger was luke warm. Sad as I was excited to eat here

Fairly tasty food, was good for us as our granddaughter has coeliac so can't have gluten and they have a range of gluten free food. Service was great as they checked all was OK. Only thing that might have been a good idea is if they had a childrens menu

Under staffed. Only one guy on front and he was busy (poor sod). The food (as a vegan) was top rate. Would say probably the bast vegan fast food I have had. Lucky for me there is an outlet very close to where I live J15a M1. So will be back, and will plan routes on long drives to stop where they are if at all possible, Thank you

Good vegan options, delicious rice boxes and tasty sides. The burgers are great. Leon is always a trusty go-to.

Rice bowls OK not a massive queue and nice alternative to the fast food options

I have visited this Leon twice and the first time I stopped the girl who served me on the counter was so genuinely and kind . The second time she remembered me .. I’d say that was pretty amazing considering the number of people she serves . You need to give her a bonus as she does your company real credit . The food of course , as ever, is delicious !

Gluten free chicken nuggets. I could eat a million of them. As far as service station food goes, this is top of the tree... Bravo Northampton services for the great choice of concession... handy if you have run out of fuel.

This was at a Motorway service station on the M1 somewhere south of Milton Keynes. I had a spicy chicken burger and the wife had a grilled halloumi wrap. The burger was delicious, fresh off the grill, piping hot. The wife says the grilled halloumi wrap was delicious, hot, tasty and full of salad dressing which is just how she likes it. More expensive than the tasteless Maccy D's which is in the same building but you pay for quality. I highly recommend.

We had Aioli Chicken, it was beautiful.

One of the healthiest options for food on the go. You definitely can't do better in that respect if you're talking about motorway services! Their delicious Sri Lankan Sweet Potato, Coconut & Pineapple Curry is dairy free, gluten free, meat free and sugar free. Would love to see more options that tick all of those boxes and for there to be more Leon restaurants at motorway services, in future. Prompt, friendly service and the cooked food is always piping hot. Worth a visit if you're passing.

Some of the better quality food you'll find on the British motorway network, fast, tasty, and a decent coffee too.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Familiar with this chain from London, I stopped at this Leon with my partner on the way to Lake District. The "healthier" option of a chicken burger was slimey, and barely edible (let's not kid ourselves - there is nothing healthy about Leon). Chicken nuggets were mot much better. To make things worse, the Leon meal (which was the only thing we ate together) gave us both a bad stomacache, and a REALLY BAD night's sleep.

Honestly how can they justify their prices for rubbish food . 6.50 for a dodgy fish sandwich ,it’s no healthier than McDonald’s don’t waste your money or time

Absolutely awful food, having only had their food once in hammersmith and this now being the closest one we decided to stop for dinner driving back from a long day, and were quite hungry so had a burger and chips each and anmilkshake but all of it was poor quality cold/luke warm despite it taking 10-15 mins to be made and just a real lack of quality burnt burger patty, not enough sauce, the chips had cheese sauce on the bottom of the box not on the fries and shake was very very grainy and artificial tasting and very expensive we paid around £25 which is expensive even by restaurant standards never mind fast food/services we definitely won’t be returning or recommending this chain to anyone

I just had a portion of the GF chicken nuggets. Much tastier than the other fast food franchise based at these services. Proper chicken with a nice light breadcrumb with seasoning! Handy situated right at the entrance. Paid a little more but they tasted better value.

Bought chicken wrap and lentil masala.. Both not cooked properly . Chicken wrap roti is cold inside not grilled properly. Rice in the lentil masala is not cooked well and tastes like eating rubber rice. Worst experience total waste of money.

This is situated in the Services off M1 J15A and we stopped over for breakfast. Chose an avocado halloumi muffin and a veggie box. Portions were quite small for the price. The veggie box still proved decent but the muffin was really tiny. Good coffee though.

I will go again just not that place, i guess they just think they wont see the same people again as it on the motorway. Im a celiac so when i see some thing like this my eyes light up. I havent had chicken nuggets or anything battered for years. So it was upsetting to be let down by a chain that sells gluten free goods. I will try the one in canary wharf next . Thanks

Fresh, delicious and served up faster than the neighbouring fast food outlets. We had Satay curry (pictured) and a halloumi wrap, which were both very tasty and satisfying. The staff were courteous and checked for allergies as a matter of course, which is much appreciated when one of you is gluten free. Highly recommended.

Found they had gf chicken havent seen this before, i was looking to get some food. But the woman just walked past me three times and did not even acknowledge me. Wtf i walked off the others walked off too. What a way to run a business clap clap.

Had the Katsu Chicken, with Baked chips, and was much better than having Mcdonalds. I'd recommend that and the hot chocolate.

Very quick, tasty and healthy. Been a few times as one of the healthiest places near Towcester. Although the services were busy Leon was okay as most people go to McDonald's etc. Some people being their drinks and take up space in Leon though. Falafel not restaurant quality but I edible. Jackfruit bites nice and Flatbread closer to Lebanese than Turkish.

First ever visit. I know this chain is popular and the healthy food looks great, but I tried the breakfast items today and the sausage and egg in a muffin was a huge disappointment. Doughy muffin was uncooked and beaten up and literally falling apart, not at all impressed, I wish I’d had a mcDonalds which was next door. Will go back to Leon though as the lunch food looks great.

While the malnourished hordes queued at the burger places we enjoyed a tasty, healthy alternative breakfast - with tea in a proper mug so no landfill impact - with really friendly service in relative peace and quiet. The portions seemed on the small side to me, which knocked off a star as it felt a bit dear - but healthy food is better at filling you up so it wouldn't put me off going to one of these again. I hope they spread further as this place felt like an oasis amongst all the planet-busting meat consumption and single-use plastic.

This was a wonderful place for breakfast on the trip up to Yorkshire, a refreshing culinary delight in an otherwise ordinary service station. The truffle mushroom pot was simply wonderful!
