Olive Tree Turkish Mediterranean Restaurant in South Northamptonshire

Absolutely fantastic!!!!! Couldn’t have been nicer or done more to make our evening a pleasant experience. The food is absolutely amazing, from starter through to dessert, all totally delicious, friendly staff, immaculate venue. Well done 👍

First visit to the Olive Tree and definitely not our last!!!!! We had 3 courses each from the lunch menu and as it was our first time eating Turkish food we made sure all choices were different so we could try each others and neither of us were disappointed. Service very good, when we received our bill we were about to pay when the waitress came over with a revised bill telling us she had made a mistake and our revised bill was less. Look forward to visiting again!!

A beautifully decorated restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff and excellent food. The portions are generous, the food is cooked to perfection, and seasoning and flavour combinations are spot on. Every bite was a delight!

A nice surprise. This restaurant, although is a bit remote, has a clean and net atmosphere. The food is excellent with a genuine Mediterranean taste. Mila was really attentive, pleasant and professional in serving us.

UPDATE: 6 years later and The Olive Tree is still a superb restaurant, in fact even better! Had a meal here tonight and we were served by Hajni, who was very attentive and friendly. Excellent food, highly recommended once again. I was very impressed with the service here, such friendly members of staff! My son is normally a bit shy but as the photo shows, he was having fun being lifted up by the waitress. Only thing I would say is it's a bit expensive, however the quality of food is superb, will certainly be coming here again soon!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! UPDATE 31/07/2024 The food is still amazing and the staff is wonderful. My son don't normally talk to anyone not known to him and our regular waitress left for new adventures. Everyone was welcoming and to my surprise, my son talked to everyone which shows that he feels safe and welcomed there. The atmosphere is very friendly, the staff is just the sweetest people. I'm glad we found this hidden gem in Towcester. They still serving big portions and the Turkish bread and the Russian Salad is a must :)

Great food, served quickly and by a very nice team. If visiting, order the Chicken Shish or chicken wings - I asked for a recommendation and these were the choices, I don’t regret my choice as it was delicious but now I’m left wondering.

After my first visit to the olive tree with a friend this became one of my favourite restaurants. I've since been back several times and introduced family and friends who also highly rate The Olive tree. The food is delicious, with a wide range of food choices. The staff deliver 5* customer service. My children love coming here on special occasions, our last visit my son chose to come here for his birthday. My kids love the food and they adore Gokhan who is fantastic with children and always makes time to chat to us when he has a spare few minutes. He gives my kids his full attention as well as the adults, and lets the kids show off their magic tricks - he even remembers their names every time we come back. All together it is a super special and fun dining experience for adults and children alike. We can't wait to come back again soon! Thank you Gokhan, chef, and team! 💜🩵

Great staff, attentive, friendly and efficient. Food was superb. I had the Borek...crunchy and full of cheese, followed by a deliciously spiced chicken Guvec and baklava to finish from the set menu.. Highly recommended

Absolutely superb, great menu and lovely people.

This place deserves all the positive reviews it gets. I was a little worried when I first got there as the server who seated us ( who appeared to be very young and inexperienced) made me feel quite uncomfortable and was not friendly at all which I was not expecting from the reviews here. However as soon as I was seated the person taking my order was absolutely lovely and I was then helped by the absolutely amazing Cristina who made us feel so welcome. The food was some of the best Turkish food I’ve ever eaten! The portion size was amazing value for money and the quality and tenderness of the meat were superb ! We were so impressed that we came back the following day. We ordered take away that time and the wait time for that was only 20 mins and despite attending on a Saturday night we didn’t have to wait a long time for our food at all. Everything was super quick. If anyone is staying at whittlebury hall ( or perhaps any hotel in the area) I would recommend you get out of the hotel and come here. It is fantastic! Amazing food. Lovely decor and Amazing service ( minus that one person!). Cristina is a credit to that establishment and is truly one of the most helpful and friendly people I have ever met

Wonderful family meal out at the Olive Tree. The restaurant is smart from the outside and really nice inside. Small colorful lamps hang from the ceiling. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Plentiful staff all smiling and very happy to help. The food came quickly and was lovely. My lamb chops were tasty. But expensive. 4 chops rice and bit of salad £23. You can decide? No complaints about the food all enjoyed their meals. Would I go back yes I would. Outside smoking area and also toilets were clean.

Waitress clearly doesn’t want be there. Very similar experience to the review below. Elder waitress with long brown hair was too busy to give you eye contact. Had to get up and go get a drink and no one asked how the food was until they cleared it away. Food was good but clearly the waitress was not that friendly busy telling everyone she is moving away to Hemel Hempstead to be close to her sister and/or getting married! Good food ruined by poor service. Update 04.24 Much better service at lunch by Emily and warm welcome back by manager who recognised us. Well done Emily. Bigger portions than other local Turkish restaurants and 25% discount at lunch for a full evening meal portion makes it a better choice if your hungry and want great food.

The service received it was at the highest quality and standards ,the waiter who take care about us in our culinary adventure it was very high trained, very kind and prompt. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and all the time the food and service is amazing. I have been last night there and it was fairly busy , the oldest waitress was going above and beyond to keep us happy like always. I read the below review and it’s breaking my heart to see others people opinion about her , as we were there and we’ve seen what had actually happened. She’s our favourite waitress and she’s actually doing her best even when the restaurant it’s packed . Cristina thank you for your amazing service and don’t let anyone put you down.

Wow where do I begin, the food was brilliant quality and very tasty! Was very busy when we went however the food was brought to our table efficiently and the service was beyond amazing! Our server ( I believe her name was Cristina ) was simply the best! Very welcoming and very helpful, polite and always made sure we were looked after even though she was rushed off her feet and working very hard! I will definitely will be returning and would definitely recommend!

Honestly the best food in Towcester. So good, great portion sizes, friendly staff take away is also really good if you want good healthy takeaway. Delivery would be good but only a small suggestion that would only make me want it more often.

Been here a few times to eat in and had takeaway. We were short for ideas on what takeaway to have on Boxing Day as all others were closed, but Olive tree saved the day and we had the sharing platter for 4 and it was lovely! I’d recommend the bread too! Service is always friendly and accommodating when we have eaten in.

Booked a table online, but some how put wrong date in, still got a table and staff were fine about it. Staff really friendly, food was really good as three empty plates showed. Food was quick too be served, came hot and we weren't rushed at any time during the 3 courses we all had. Good choice on menu, certainly be going back again.

Food was outstanding, came with a number of colleagues after a days work nearby, and the service was impeccable. Food servings were very large and well worth the money we paid. Definitely somewhere I'd recommend.

The vegetarian choice was soggy, tasteless and unimaginative . Soggy peas, potatoes and courgettes . I sent it back ..was offered an alternative but the choice for vege and vegan was not very appealing so I declined.

Went here without booking and that's exactly how we were made to feel, inconvenience, we were told by the older lady waitress with dark long brown hair, you can sit over there!!! Over where exactly, no taking you to your table, menu's chuckled on the table and walked off, no customer care, no smile, asked if we had any allergies as she walked off, so really bothered about that!!!! On one positive note the food was very nice just diabolical service. How she can teach other youngsters who were actually better than her I don't know. Seriously need to get some skills on how to look after your customers. We won't be returning sadly due to this.

Booked at short notice and they were able to accomidate us and couldn't be happier. We had the Cold Meze plate between us and the two kids along with wonderful home-made olive bread that they make and all was absolutely delicious. This was followed up my main courses of Chicken Shish and Lamb Adana which tasted amazing and were good healthy portions. The ambience was great on a busy Saturday night and the service was efficien, friendly and attentive at the perfect level as well as being great with the kids too. When the bill came it represented great value for money too which is hard to come by. Definitely a place that we as a family will be revisiting!!!!

This place is almost always fully booked. So get on booking if you are looking at this! We called and they were full, but then they had a cancellation and called us back. Which I thought it was really nice. You can smell the nice food from outside and doesn't let you down! We had two kids and was great to see they had kids menu. The food was amazing and quickly served. Staff was friendly and efficient. There's a great atmosphere here. Definitly recommend it!

1st ever visit to the olive tree, we went on recommendation from someone. We visited Sunday early evening 6pm. Nice and quiet just a few tables booked. Very welcoming staff, lovely ambience to the restaurant. Nice and clean. Service was brilliant, and the food was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!I Can't wait to return in the future. Good value for money too.

Very disappointed tonight. As a continued customer I have ordered many meals from here as the food is usually great. However the service and quality has definitely slipped lately which is a real shame. The restaurant used to be bustling and you couldn’t get a seat. We definitely have to book in advance. Tonight the system glitched on me twice and unfortunately ordered the wrong meat for the same dish. As someone that doesn’t eat this meat we were disappointed but thought as regular customers maybe they would meet us half way? Just give us the right meat or even a children's portion or even a discount? Something.. but nope the computer told them that so tough for the customer. While I appreciate that they wouldn’t know that I was telling the truth I feel that as a regular customer I wasn’t honoured with the curtesy of kindness. As a business owner I appreciate my customers and will always try to help out where I can even if the mistake wasn’t mine. I wasn’t even told I was being passed onto someone else on the phone ie the manager, I was kept on hold for ages before that I thought maybe she had just gone. I felt like they didn’t care and I was just annoying them. They were both curt and short with me. There maybe a reason this restaurant is not full anymore and maybe its not just the handsy owner. They have things in the menu in the desert section that they don’t do which they need to remove so that’s frustrating. The sauce pots for desert were all over the place and really the food is over priced chicken and rice! In the past the food hasn’t been ready and I have had to sit and wait 10-15 mins with no offer of even a soft drink! I get more than that when I drop my car off at the garage! It’s fine we will now go to the other Turkish and as a local person I will make sure to share my experiences. Very disappointing.

We come here regularly, it’s our favourite place for a date night! The customer service is spot on. We recommend for anyone who wants a delicious Turkish meal. PS. The hot mezze is the best! It’s the best starter I’ve ever had. :)

Visit here when staying with our son. Always enjoy the food but the portion size has reduced. We were sat quite a while before anyone came to ask for our drinks order, there was no one else in there but they were more focused on clearing a table than serving us ,surely one of them could have left the other to clear it Please pay more attention to the customer.

We had a lovely meal out as a family of 4. Staff were all very friendly. Service was fast, but we didn't feel rushed. The food was all delicious. We had a variety of dishes and everything was very tasty. Really clean and comfortable setting. We will definitely be back.

If you want to wait for ages for good food, this is your place. Food was delicious (Although quite expensive), but we had to wait for over an hour even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. Never going back.
