Fantastic food . Fantastic service if you haven't tried the food you are missing out. The mushroom hall is the best pub in albert village with a brilliant landlord and landlady. Ben the chef sends the food out exactly how it looks on the menu. One word brilliant.

Poor atmosphere- could tell it was filled with locals, and therefore the owner seemed very hostile towards me as a new customer. Very cramped environment, could tell it had been overbooked. As well as this, a drink I ordered did not come to my table yet I still received a charge. Very bad, will certainly not be returning.

On ordering 2 roast dinners we were told that the deal did not include alcoholic drinks (which we later found out this was incorrect). The food itself was rather unappealing and very dry. We later asked for and paid for 2 glasses of mulled wine. These had to be prepared and were served at the table. On arrival we were told that we could have no more as that was all that was left and were given 2 half measure glasses - no apology or refund! We later asked if they had any pear cider, they had not but did have many bottles of fruit ciders which were relayed, I also asked if there were any fruit ciders on draught and was told no so I purchased a bottle. I returned to my friends who informed me that it was 2 bottles for £7 or 1 for £5. I immediately went back to the bar to ask if I could have a second and pay the difference but was flatly refused, even though I had also been told there was nothing on draught. The whole experience was a shambles. The staff need more training on both customer service and products on the menu!

The Hub Cafe at Moira Furnace saved us with warm space indoors and quick service. There is a sunny area outside that traps the warmth even on this the coldest of subzero days. There is a nice pottery and other shops in the same courtyard. Other local cafes had > 1/2 hour queues, with little but prepackaged snacks and no seating.

Arrived at 1.50pm to find staff cleaning the floor, very reluctant to even let us over the threshold. I asked if we could order food as they are open until at least 3pm. I was blatantly ignored. I asked twice more only for a miserable lady with short grey hair to glare at me and just shrug her shoulders. She said she was shutting for personal reasons. We have visited many times to find the cafe shut before 2pm or even last week not open at all! The staff are rude, sullen and clearly don't want to be there. We will not return and advise others to do the same.
