Purchased a flat white and scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough with sausage and hashbrowns. The coffee took around 20 minutes to make, and considering how busy it wasn't, felt like quite a long time to have to wait. The food however hasn't even been started by the time my coffee was finished. The reason was a que but there was no que and most people had their food in the seating area. Even those who came in after. It was around 40 minutes wait to essentially make eggs on toast... For the price and service, that's quite unacceptable and should definitely be taken into consideration. The quality of food was quite nice when it arrived, and a nice portion. Other patrons were complaining that they'd waited over an hour for panninis which was surprising. The venue however is lovely. The alpacas are super cute! If they can iron out these areas, it'll be a much more positive experience, and place to visit.

The food was ok, although the service was very poor, and staff were putting hands over the top of cups as brought to table. Saw staff collecting glasses with fingers inside. Its not hygienic at all and very off putting. No one asked us if we was happy with food etc. I will not be eating or drinking there again. Hospitality hygiene needs to be assessed and discussed with staff before allowing them to serve customers.

We came here for the afternoon tea after our walk with the alpacas. Unfortunately there was a mix up with our order, despite booking afternoon tea for 3 they only prepared it for 2 people. However the staff dealt with the issue very professionally and offered us to order from the main menu without additional charge. They were very apologetic too. The place offers complimentary teas, instant coffees and squash which is a nice touch. You can also order barista made coffee from the bar. The afternoon tea selection was good but some bits didn't taste fresh unfortunately (maybe because they were prepared well in advance). The toasties we ordered from the menu were nice with plenty of cheese inside and the chips were delicious. The place looked very cosy with all the Christmas decorations. And it was very warm inside too as they had big heaters on - important in December!

Menu has 3 breakfast options Sausage, bacon and breakfast baps. When you ask for the breakfast bap you had to choose between a sausage or bacon bap (with 1 and a 1/4 sausages) which is already on the menu and you need to pay extra if you want an egg! ... Following our food we were asked if everything was ok and following our comments, they will now consider having a breakfast bap with sausage, bacon and egg togther!

We live within walking distance of this venue and have just visited for the second time after a disappointing first trip. We thought we'd try the breakfast after our pizza fail but we rather wish we hadn't. Just like the previous occasion the food was very average. Poor quality ingredients, toast that had touched heat for a few seconds, a bucket of tomatoes swimming in juice, naff sausages, ok back bacon. All of the condiments are the lowest supermarket brands, the sauces for example are the Tesco Stockwell cheap range no HP in sight. Service was as bad as last time, very slow especially for drinks, latte was tepid. Won't be back again which is a shame as its on a regular walking route with our dogs. Also be aware if you drive there the access road is utterly dreadful, beware of your tyres and suspension, the size of potholes are ludicrous! If you are going for pizza please note they reguarly pull that option for the general public even though they advertise the fact walk ins are accepted so don't count on that and have a plan b. Bit of a shame really but I guess the cafe is just a side to the main business, this fact shows unfortunately.

This place seems to have lost it's way since it opened. We went today and the drive is riddled with deep pot holes which doesn't make for a good start. We went into the entrance of the Cafe which was crowded and disorganised. There was a group waiting to be shown through, a queue waiting to place orders and people waiting for their takeaway drinks. You couldn't tell who was who, where the queue was and the area is evidently too small. There is no signage or greeter to let you know the format (do you have to be shown to a table, or find your own. Is it table service etc). We got a table but there were no menus - back into the crowded reception to find them. Once we had made our choices- it was back into the crowded reception to order. I placed my order which was painful as the young lady on the till was new and struggling and was unsupervised. She kept shouting for advice from the equally young Barista who was stressed trying to keep up with demand. I waited for my drinks, but wasn't told they were brought to the table. We waited for our food and the two servings of chips were brought to the table, but no pizzas. Fifteen minutes after this a lady came to the table to tell me there was no beef so I had to pick another pizza topping - the only other meat was Pepperoni. 20 minutes later the pizzas came so the chips were now 35 minutes cold. When I pointed this out they said they would not change them but would 'make a note of it'. There were quite a few tables complaining of either the wait for food, or incorrect orders. The pizza bases were nice, the vegetarian pizza was nice. The Pepperoni pizza only had 6 slices of Pepperoni on? The chips were nice (but obviously cold). £40 for two pizzas, 2 chips, 2 coffee and a water is a bit steep. Put this together with the disorganisation, and bad service and it makes for a poor experience. The whole place seems to be run by inexperienced youngsters (not their fault). The management need to take a good look at themselves and get a grip of this place. Perhaps they cannot differentiate between feeding animals and humans?

After a lovely walk with the Alpacas we had lunch at the Chilli Bean . Sitting outside we had stone baked pizza cooked in the outside kitchen, cheesy chips and a Caramel Frappe, finished off with homemade Millionaires Brownie - all delicious. Each of us had to keep walking through the tables disrupting flow of conversation and disturbing those eating on the other tables. Wouldn't give any stars, appalling choice of food, told in between chef's. You don't need a chef to cook everyday food, had to have salad cobs, asked if they did any thing else beside pizzas. NO. Then why did we see four people having breakfast? On the unreserved side, before your reply is only for the reserved side of the cafe. The child's lunch box was very poor too, crisps, ham, sandwich no fruit or cake

Alpaca experience was absolutely amazing and we had a amazing host! But the chilli bean cafe was a massive let down!!!!! The staff are rude, just stand there and look at you like your bothering them and waited over 20 mins for a sandwich that was already made and wrapped up so when asking for a refund it was like a massive bother for them!!! Absolutely poor poor service, the only one that was actually helpful was Tom I think his name was so not him he was lovely but all the others there were absolutely shocking.

I am sorry to say how disappointed I am with your customer service this time round. My sister in law had booked a pony trek for my 4 year olds birthday. UNFORTUNATELY, he was taken ill on the evening of his birthday (30th) and we had to make the decision to cancel the trek, which was scheduled the day after (31st). We sent an email which we could not have sent any sooner but the response received on 1st has refused to reschedule the trek or refund due to a lack of 48hours notice. When working with children you should make allowances for sudden illness onset, particularly disabled children like my son. To offer only 20% of a future booking is not acceptable and as a result you have now lost any future booking from me. Absolutely shocking! Particularly as we highly recommended you previously after a wonderful visit. Such a shame that your customer care has failed on this occasion.

Adequate food and setting. Always thought it struggles with its identity though. A cafe or a restuarant ? In a working farm and alpaca setting so I guess it's OK Just my opinion though I think they are missing a trick . A niche upmarket experience could be a better option/ way to go !

I went to the cafe with family, based on the good reviews and location. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. A very basic menu, basic customer service and a cold marque to sit in. Talk about disappointing, we will not be returning. What they could do to improve (if they care). 1. Improve the menu, to not just have sandwiches/panini's/burgers and 1 choice of cake. Provide dressing and cuttlery when bringing food. 2. When entering for the first time, have staff warmly welcome you and explain what you have to do. Not just ask if you have a booking and if you don't make you feel uncomfortable, especially when there's plenty of spare tables. Perhaps even suggest a warm table to sit at? 3. Have table service. 4. Have a view of the alpacas, from the cafe. If they improved the food, customer service and had a view of the alpahacas, I bet people would make a beeline for the cafe and highly recommend it to friends. Such a shame as it has potential. P.s. the road in is highly potholes and parking is interesting.

The Priest House has so much potential. Its location is lovely, situated by a river and the buildings are lovely. However, this is a very tired hotel, both inside and out. The exterior paint is peeling, the outdoor communal areas around The Cottage where we stayed were so dirty and unkempt and the exterior of this building was grubby too. The room was at least clean and plenty roomy, but the radiator was on full blast and it was a 23° sunny day. It couldn’t be turned down or off. The service in the restaurant was very slow and the food overpriced for the tiny portions. The constant drone all night of the aircraft flying into East Midlands airport was very noisy. It’s all a bit of a shame, as this place has bags of potential. Sadly, we wouldn’t come back again.
