Real bad but the managers don’t care I feel sorry for the staff I hope they do something please please don’t go there try another India restaurant please

very disappointed! party of 30 people , took 2 hours to have main meal , had the lamb chops , over cooked , dry and just awful. my mate had a chicken curry and he left his as well ( not nice chicken ) we didn’t complain as we didn’t want to wait another 2 hours and we just wanted to leave ! been here before and normally very good ! just think they could not cope with the volume of us, people down stairs and takeaways , this is not our problem. such a shame ! and to get drinks as it took ages we had to go down stairs to get our own ! people down stairs waiting to collect food where complaining too .

Very average Indian restaurant food

A very long wait after waiter forgot our drinks order and took even longer to come and take the food order. It was busy, but all the same, disappointing. Food was great, very tasty and nicely presented.

Our favourite Indian in the area. Always great food, piping hot & the staff are all so friendly & make us feel very welcome. We often dine in & get deliveries via their website. We love De La Zouch.

Worst curry we've ever had, and we've had a tescos ready meal curry

Fraud people, they calling from their restaurant phone number and scamming up and down around London. Avoid these scammers!

Reliably good food with variety. The naan first rate. Fresh chillies, coriander... Wonderful. Great service too.

I used to order takeaway from the Rickshaw, but now i'd always go to the De La Zouch. Prices are good, staff are pleasant and last weekend i had the best chicken pathia i've ever tasted. keep up the good work guys.

This is our go to curry house. Excellent food, very good service, very friendly staff and not overly expensive. One of the few curry houses that don’t have shares in Andrex!

Beautiful food would recommend to any one

End of 2022 we had fab meals and best curry in Ashby was looking forward to meal march 23 . Booked table - wasn't available had to wait. Dont go for tandoori mixed starter four blobs of meat not good value . I ordered chicken pathia and got balti . Drinks ordered when main arrived had to ask for them 3/4 thru main. Dont know what has happened but was Sadly Very disappointed.

The best Bangladesh around! We have tried a lot of local and further out Indian/Bangladesh restaurants even going into Leicester too and by far this is one of the best we have ever had. Takeaway's there is always plenty of food and it is always got and tasting great. Eating in is good too, really good food, great staff, good beer and wine. It's always busy so book in advance you won't be disappointed. The prices are good too.

Realy friendly staff, good value. Food was amazing. First time dinning there but definitely will go back.

Great value for money, had a lovely curry on NYE with the wife. They even gave us free onion Bhajis too which was very pleasing. Thank you.

Great food full of flavour great staff

Took a gamble on trying something new, both as a cuisine and the meal I ordered. Ordered the Tropical special. Asked for less chillies. Even so, was very hot for someone who doesn't enjoy spice but was absolutely delicious. Their were chillies all through the special naan though (comes with the main I ordered), so picked most of them out. Husband had chicken tikka. Both dishes were lovely. Service staff very attentive too. Will definitely visit again.

Ordered a takeaway giving 40 minutes notice, not ready when I arrived in taxi, kept waiting and curry which was a Balti obviously rushed and cobbled together. When I opened the very small container, a few pieces of hard chicken, large piece of onion and one small piece of pepper. Very disappointing especially in these current times when a takeaway meal is a much appreciated treat, my pet dogs appreciated chewing on the chicken.

Had a takeaway tonight absolutely fantastic ,had so many takeaways from other takeaways and have always been disappointed but this was best one in about 15 yrs.

Amazing food here and excellent staff, best Indian food in town

Food was nice, but the service was very slow. We went in on a Friday evening and although there were quite a few people in when we arrived they all were eating their main courses or had finished. It took 20 minutes from us being seated to anyone taking our drinks order and another 15 minutes before our food order was taken. We then waited 10 minutes more for the poppadoms. The main courses were very nice, but being charged £2.50 for a bottle of tap water is a bit steep. All in all an average experience...

We had another takeaway for partners birthday, highly recommend top notch food cooked to your liking 😋

Brilliant. Food was delicious and pretty close to a Bradford curry. Excellent service. Very friendly and attentive, but not in your face. Very clean and hygienic. Highly recommend.

Expected better to be honest. Busy Saturday night may have been reason for long delay between starters and main. Chicken chat Puri starter was lovely, but tandoori chicken (dry over cooked chicken) Biryani was not up to expectations. Veg Curry looked like it was made using frozen cubed veg. Service was great.

Ordered 2 hours ago, rang two phone numbers which gave no response after 120 calls and took £80 from me.

Visited restaurant on 29/2/20 there was very 6 of us. We usually go to Rickshaw but as it was cold we went to de la zouch. It was the worst curry I’ve ever had and I’ve been eating curry for many years. I had tikka masala for a change. The chicken was awful I really struggled to chew and swallow it. The sauce was powdery and dry. My partner who always orders the same chicken madras or vindaloo had madras. He said the same. All the others in the party said the same. Garlic Nan was awful. Avoid at all costs. Save your money. If I could of given it no stars I would of done. Toilets were awful not clean at all. Running water in there needs looking at. Only cold working and a dribble to wash hands. If that’s how the staff washes their hands that’s really bad hygiene.

Ordered a meal to be delivered tonight 14/2/20 not happy with what i received, all warm not hot, chips cold and hard ask for kemma nan got plain, popadoms burnt usually good wont be using again as cost me £28

By far the worst food experience. We waited 1.5 hours for our starters. Quality of the staff was very poor And when the fold finally arrived a number of dishes were missing from our order. Absolutely shocking and by far the worst eastern restaurant i have eaten in.

Don't go for delivery. They always under estimate how long they'll be. Tonight's estimate was 40 minutes. It's now 1hr 35mins and no sign of it arriving. The food is good when it eventually arrives

Been here a few times and food always good. Place is a little compact but service was quick and friendly. Lacks a bit of atmosphere as no Indian type background music but not a deal breaker. Will be back again soon

Went tonight, while the food was really good the service was terrible, waited 2hrs for our meal, when the table next to us complained because they had been waiting for 2.5hrs the waiters response was 'everyone has been waiting that long', never once was an explanation or apology offer to us.

A very very nice Indian restaurant in the heart of Ashby. The food is absolutely amazing especially the lamb balti which is definitely my go to dish in the Indian cuisine. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone with a taste for an Indian and really good service.

Great Indian food. Quality chicken, tasty sauces and excellent service.

It was a Wednesday night and I was part of a work group of 8 men with a wide age range. The staff were very patient with the group, some were a little loud and fortunately it wasn't busy, they took our order and got everything right. On the whole the food was good with a nice balance of spices and seasoning, unfortunately the chicken dish I had was over cooked so was dry and stringy but not worth complaining about but it lost the top star. The naan bread was superb.

Okay good service but food not amazing tasted all the same ( went in a large group)

I rang for a delivery at 5:46 tonight and it arrived at 7:30 .... I was told it would be delivered within an hour, so at 7:15 I rang to see where it was and was told the driver has just left .... He had to come from Ashby to Donisthorpe so at 7:35 the food finally arrived COLD the driver apologised saying it was the roadworks in Ashby that made him late LOL .... WHAT ROADWORKS?

Lively takeaway with fresh naan

Ordered a takeaway. We had the Tandoori mix. The chicken was over cooked, the yogurt appeared to be watered down and the naan bread very chewy. The spices were tasty though. It's not really worth the price. Also there was not a selection of dips with the poppadoms. If they increased there cook quality (not over cook the chicken), gave a better selection of dips with the poppadoms as opposed to watered down yogurt it would have been a lot better.

Bland food that lacked any real flavour. House wine was very poor. Service was good though . Would I recommend? Unfortunately not ..... look elsewhere.

Ordered at 6.46pm for delivery to Normanton (10 mins up the road) had to ring at 8pm to see where my order was. Was promised it would be another 20 mins. Finally arrived at 8.55pm and was stone cold so had to put in oven to warm up. By this time was so hungry, didn’t really want it. What a waste. Won’t use again!

If i could've put 0 stars i would have. The worst restaurant I've been to, it was overcrowded and extremely noisy, took 20 minuets for drinks to be served after an hour and a half we had just finished starters. Then a waiter spilled rice over somebody and then in the next 5 minuets spilled a drink over someone else and then knocked empty glasses over. The food was average and the drinks were flat, would not recommend going. Then we had to wait 10 minuets for the bill. Also the stairway was 1 person only and was difficult to get around.

Very Average Starter was not warm and chewy, ask mains tasted the same even though I ordered the most exotica sounding one it ask tasted a little better than a supermarket takeaway food. It was during the annual Ashby fair so they might have been extra busy. Will try other Indian takeaways before returning.
