If your in a group great pub to go to as you will pretty much get the pub to yourself. Other than that it's pretty quiet.

This is a fantastic local Ashby pub so if you’re looking for a good party night out this is definitely the pub to be in. It is by far the best pub in Ashby. We walked all around Ashby for drinks on Boxing Day and this was the place to be. Karaoke night with good local people.

I went with a group of work collegues because we heard they had open mic night. Such a lovely night. Locals playing (quite good) allowing other to join them or to play themselves. Very nice people. I will be back in my last visit to Ashby

Good beer, great wines, good to catch up with friends, have some good music nights, parking at the rear and smoke area at the back.

Really like this pub. Friendly. Nice staff. Used to be my local but have since moved out of the area, still come back here to need friends. Not what ibwould call a modern pub and the toilets are often not the cleanest. Still a good pub none the less. They offer a pool table, darts, jukebox, outdoor under cover seating and a children's play area. Parking available at the side of the pub and a taxi rank opposite.

Rough and ready pub just behind the high street, usual beers and wines, the real ale is a bit ropey , pool table frequented by the local youth , some times has a band on, ok for a quick pint but don't expect to much

Been in a few times, overall this place is nice, you can play darts and pool. You wouldn't really order food from here as it's not an full restaurant but the pub it self is comforting and the staff are nice( apart from 2 elder staffs) they're grumpy but if you're just looking to go somewhere for a couple then I'd recommend.

I've been coming here years and I'm a bit perplexed at some of the reviews, one complains she couldn't see the (extensive) range of drinks in the fridge because she's short and the bar is high!!! Maybe she should have asked for a beer crate to stand on or asked the staff, they don't bite! Another says it attracts "undesierables"; a bit of a subjective view and another mentions an experience with a waitress when they don't employ waitresses.....hmmmmmm.....I took my new girlfriend here, the food was excellent, plentiful although now offering a basic bar snacks menu and both meals had change from a tenner. The staff clearly know how to keep a decent pint and when they werent serving they were cleaning. Cannot fault it, okay it's not the Ivy or the Rovers Return but you find with this place it's great ideas keep getting stolen by other pubs so they must be doing something right!!! for example curry nights started here, open mic/jam nights on a Thursday (which still take place) and live music on a Saturday, some great bands and varied styles of music too.

Myself and some friends came for lunch and the service was terrible, waited over an hour for the food to arrive, then when one meal came, we then had to wait a further 10 minutes before a waitress came over to ask if we were still waiting for more food.. 5 minutes after this she returned with one other meal, still waiting for the third and final meal, overall it took a further 20 minutes to receive our full order. The food was very disappointing and we couldn't eat much of it as it wasn't pleasant. We weren't given much of an apology or offered anything to make this lunch better. Nobody came to clear our plates after we had finished either. Very dissatisfied.

Friendly greeting from landlord & landlady who go the extra mile. Great real ales well kept & poured. Food now introduced inc an awesome breakfast service.

It's a locals place so I didn't really feel very welcome in there. It seems to attract a few undesirable characters.

Brilliant pub with loads of entertainment, Wednesday poker, Thursday jam night, Friday various types of entertainment, Saturday live music\bands.... Serving the best pint in town.... The only place that welcomes families and even has family days in the summer...

Went in here early-ish on a Friday night. We were one of only 2 or 3 groups in the large bar/lounge area, which meant there wasn't much of an atmosphere, but those who were there seemed friendly enough. Not a great choice of drinks and the bar was too high for a shorty like me to see into the fridges! Seemed to have something going on most evenings so maybe we were just unlucky with our timing. Had a quick drink and moved on to somewhere busier.
