Normally go to other pubs in Ashby, but thought we’d give this a go. Lady serving was pleasant, but we found the place very dirty and some unpleasant smells, felt like the place needed a good clean!

I’m 34; been coming here every other Friday, but today when I went in and asked for a pint of strongbow she laughed and asked for ID. Which I can understand cus why’re just sticking to the law, but when I told her I didn’t have any ID she said “why don’t you have an orange juice” Quite offended to be honest. She was snobby, rude etc.

I went on Kareokie night with some friends, and it was a standard pub experience. Lots of people from Ashby and the surrounding area there if you are a regular in Ashby. Some of the flashing light placements were a bit invasive and distracting.

Fantastic place, great atmosphere and vibe, the bar team were amazing 👏 it was extremely busy and the wait to be served was about 2 - 5 minutes which was to be expected in a busy high steet bar. I completely felt safe at the lamb as the had door supervisors on. I visited on a Friday evening and returned the next night as the club/bar vibe was on the next level, music was amazing and the throw back club and dance mixes took me back. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY ONE 18 + THAT LOVES A GREAT NIGHT OUT FOR ALL AGES.

Came for a 30th birthday under covid rules, a lady within the party was disable. When out side the door man called Alex sated she couldn’t re enter through the side door and had to go through the front door like everyone else. His comment was well if your disabled you shouldn’t be out, as she was struggling to come back through the way they said. As they don’t and any other disabled entrance but via that door. This was also backed up by the land lady. This is disgusting, if she was in a wheel chair how would she of be been able to access the toilet. Poor management. Rude staff. Door man are Incapable of human rights. This is been looked into by higher management.

Absolutely amazed by the the lamb, the staff are super ! Happy to help with anything! Fast service from the girls always up for a laugh to a certain extent! Big drinks order was ordered and they all put together to get it sorted as fast as possible! Brilliant night out the bar staff was amazing couldn’t off felt any more welcome and the toilets are spotless and there was brilliant music I do recommend to go there for a night out everyone in there are so friendly.

My second return since the refurbishment the pub. The first time was soon after the re: opening and the kitchen was still not available for food.Forward to October 2019 and the kitchen is still not operational. I can only assume they have decided against serving meals.I feel now the pub is more of a regulars only venue.

This place is a joke! The new manger is beyond rude they can’t deal with their staff management and do not appreciate their customers! I have been a customer of the lamb for years but the new management is beyond a joke! AVOID!!!!

Awful bar staff, very rude. After complaining about the service I had received in a respectful manner I was asked by the door staff to leave for being aggressive?! I was nothing but respectful to the bar staff and was completely shocked to be asked to leave. Will never visit again.

It’s been quite sometime since I reviewed the Lamb, so I decided to have breakfast today and check it out again. The food and service were excellent my breakfast tasted delicious. I will certainly be calling in again very soon.

Called in on a quiet weekday afternoon for a cuppa with the family and dog. Friendly welcome, dog treats and a very reasonable priced and lovely cuppa (and yummy biscuits)! Definitely recommend a visit and hopefully a meal next time.

Stopped here today for an early lunch. Food was piping hot extremely tasty and very well presented. Both bar and waiting staff were very welcoming and helpful. Prices good. Would defiantly recommend.

Called in for a Sunday lunch on visiting ashby de la zouch had quite a long wait to be fair but roast beef dinner very good and not over priced.could do with a wee lick paint.

Well what a great place, a superb range of beers and a very tasty looking menu, we both had different and both meals were excellent, the Faggotts were beautiful, 2 very pleasant waitresses, and great food and drink, what more could you ask for.

I visited the Lamb for a late weekday lunch with a friend and, despite the kitchens being due to shot in two minutes, we ordered quickly. The menu was extensive and cheaply priced; lots of generic high fat, high carb options but plentiful never the less.

Its a traditional pub, no awards for decor, but good beer, plenty of space, SKY TV for footy and easy access and location.

Visited here for lunch, looked around a few restaurants for gluten free options and this place offered a good selection of meals. The food was nice, pretty standard but still tasty. Nice staff and fast service. Would recommend here.

Visited on Saturday afternoon when it was packed with customers clamouring to get to the bar. It's pretty rough and ready but the meals were great value and really tasty. We had two OAP meals (mains for £4.45, Main and starter/dessert for £5.99) which we fully expected to be small. Not a bit of it - the faggots, chips, gravy and peas were fabulous - huge, meaty, spicy and really tasty and the sticky toffee pudding came with lashings of custard - lovely. If it's a quiet atmosphere, fine dining or light veggie meals that you want this is probably not for you, but if you want a good, honest meal then it really is the place to go.

I stumbled over this pub en route to Wetherspoon's having the town virtually closed on the Sabbath. I noted the menu and prices and thought I'd give it a try .....and good job I did. My order was taken efficiently, the food ..all day breakfast....was...

Just moved into area and we love the lamb for its atmosphere and great service. Vicky makes us feel really welcome.

Popped in with daughter for food and drink around 3.30pm (ish), no staff at the bar. Waited and waited but nobody came, two of the locals stared at us then went into the other room. Wandered around looking for potential staff but still nobody...decided to have lunch in a little cafe down the road instead.

Food looked excellent although the reviews suggested that decor was an issue.

Today I visited the lamb inn and I come to eat with my daughter about 2pm. I ordered my food and the device was delightful, the barmaid, Vicky was welcoming and friendly! As you can see the picture show how delicious the food looked and it tasted even better.

Paramos aquí para almorzar en nuestra vuelta de Nottingham a West Bromwich. Después de una espera de 30 minutos, nuestro pescado y patatas guisantes llegamos. Honestamente puedo decir que eran el mejor iv jamás. Buena parte incluso al marido era inmejorable. Es una lástima que usted no es mi local. Espero pronto pop. . . . .

Yo tenía una lasaña con pan de ajo y una ensalada maravillosa tarta y mi marido tenía el día que fue Steak and Ale fue una tapa de repostería de hojaldre. Tuvimos que esperar más de media hora, y por qué ambos habían sido recién preparado y puede probar y sólo 2 para un 10 libras. Nos gustó tanto que volvimos por un desayuno inglés completo por £3. 30 incluyendo el té / café, que era bastante increíble; si alguna vez en la zona sin duda pop en aquí para el almuerzo. We visit the Lamb regularly for lunch. Excellent cappuccino and the best salads ever at a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff.

My sister and I meet here every 2 weeks to enjoy there fabulous Lunches we often have there Toasted Bacon Sandwich with a small portion of Chips. also we have had fish and chips which is very tasty. The Staff are also very friendly and obliging. There Menue is very varied, and has something to suit most people.

This pub that time forgot, situated bang in the centre of Ashby, is welcoming, friendly and quaint. I visited late one weekday afternoon and enjoyed a quiet pint, taking advantage of the excellent free WI-FI. But I was surprised to learn that they stop serving food at 2:30 in the afternoon, an amazing management omission in the twenty-first century.

Go and have a cappuccino and a lovely bacon and egg cob at The Lamb.The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Have been here quite a few times and will be going again.

We called in for evening drinks. Where we sat was a bit tatty with stained seats and frayed upholstery, in need of a refurbishment. Staff were friendly and real ale was good. Very noisy but it was a Saturday evening. Was okay but nothing special, much like many pubs in town centres everywhere.

Was meeting up with old friend on her birthday and my friend chose the venue, first impression, outside oldy worldy and the same inside, we liked the atmosphere, very friendly staff, clean and plenty of room .. the food is reasonably priced and also cheaper on certain meals for OAP's , it ticked all the boxes.And even though we did not eat there, the meals looked really good when they brought them out to people who did.We will definitely go back for a second visit, and try the food to see if it tastes as good as it looked .. of you are ever in Ashby give it a visit and see what you think?Good shopping centre if you like the old time theme .. we liked it very much.

I nipped in here on the Bank holiday as I was tempted by their great offer of a breakfast with tea/coffee for £2.99.It's a friendly enough place with a hardcore of locals. Service was a bit slow and the breakfast took a while to be served, free top ups on our tea would have been appreciated to make up for the waiting time. Fresh milk is available with the drinks if you ask... if you don't you get UHT... yuk..The breakfast amused me with its foot long sausage and to be fair the breakfast was good value for money.... they also do a big brunch 2 for £10!!!...I will visit here again as it's a friendly and cheap option... just speed up the food and service and you'll get a higher rating x

The coffee was weak, and the decor tired but the staff friendly and helpful and the food was very good.

My husband and I were staying nearby and decided to visit Ashby for lunch. The Lamb seemed very inviting, so we decided to go in. We weren't disappointed, the staff were very attentive and genuinely interested that we should have a good lunch. The food was excellent and the service very good. I had the Lasagne and my husband had the faggots chips and peas. I would definitely recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

The breakfast here come very highly recommended however I would encourage a second visit to try to lunchtime menu of homemade burgers, faggots from the local butcher and plenty more! The staff are always really friendly and accommodating. My friend sometimes brings her dog along for a drink in the daytime and the staff always get him a little bowl of water. It's the little things the lamb does that makes it the great place it is!

Popped into the lamb to meet a few friends, the staff were stood there on there phones as I walked in, it took them at least 5 minutes to notice me! I then took a seat and waited for my friends, they arrived one of there glasses was chipped and the other was rather dirty!, poor selection in wine, we ordered food it came out cold, when I asked for a fresh one it was then microwaved!! Absolutely disgusted how anyone can do that! The toilets smelt that bad I waited to go else. Will never be returning again and will let everyone no not to bother it's appalling, such a shame for a nice venue

Visited the Lamb Inn for the first time today. The food was fantastic, took a little while to arrive but all cooked from fresh. Very good sized meals too!Very good value for money. Good service from staff too :)

I was told to leave my pint inside while I had a smoke outside by some fool called Sammy, only to find she had thrown my pint away when I came back inside. Possibly the most incompetent woman I've ever met. And don't eat here unless you want dysentery.

Been a customer for about two months , staff excellent,friendly and very helpful. If you want a meal (a proper one not Pinger (microwave) with large portions you must visit.It has to be best value in Ashby.

I came to the pub as i was hungry they advertise scampi just what I fancied when I ordered customer service started of well 15 min wait on food fine not a problem after waiting 35 min I asked the manageress as she called her self I didn't know her name just she had blonde hair, she said 5 min 15 min later food arrives i cut into the scampi and took a bite it was still frozen I obviously complained she got the manager a she stated it was cooked and was very rude I would not eat here again never even offered me a refund disgusting. What an excellent public house. Food and hospitality is excellent..the staff are atentative and serve you with a smile on their face..so rare today..it is a pub catering for all..chatting area's sports areas and background music throughout creating a fabulous ambience..I'd be surprised if anyone left here disappointed..my family and I will definitely be visiting again soon

I always visit here for breakfast/lunch with friends and family, staff are lovely and a great laugh! Even the regular customers that visit are great laugh and friendly with everyone. The pubs very spacious and always a cosy place to sit down. Really recommend the pub

After a long trip I decided to get refreshed and walked into the lamb, what first hit me was the lovely aroma of coffee I was greeted with a very nice member of the staff who found me a table and brought my drink over to me after ordering my lunch , it came very quick I couldn't fault the food and the waitress couldn't do enough for me . All the staff were very nice and friendly I really enjoyed my visit to the lamb and will definitely call again 10 out of 10 thanx

All the staff especialy, Tiff and Charlie on the bar and Marie front of house and all the staff are welcoming freindly and helpfull. A high street pub with all the comforts of a village pub. I run a motorcycle club from the lamb and the owners and manager Sammy give all the lads n lassies in the club discounted fodd and drink on Sundays out of the goodness of there hospiality. Great pub,great staff what more can i say... Oh yeh !... the beers ok as well..... Well done the Lamb.... Tosh

Had a few drinks here after an earlier meal. Place was clean, tidy and welcoming. Prices around average. Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat here, nor did I see anyone order food. Would return again.

The lamb is ok if you fancy a quick drink. Can be very popular at times though. Staff can be friendly but expect a lot of chatter between them. Would never be my first choice of pub but there are many worse. Doorman can be very arrogant at times. Food is definitely nothing special but you cannot grumble at the price.

I visited here for lunch a few months ago and was not impressed. The food was ok ish but the place itself looked grubby inside. Staff seemed quite miserable and the place smelt damp. Could definitely do with a spruce up and being more welcoming. Wont be visiting again.

We decided to stop here for breakfast as the pub across the road wasn't open. The breakfast was nice, cheap and cheerful. However we had to wait for ages, and when it did arrive, we had to ask for knives and forks. Not sure how they thought we were going to eat it!! The pub wasn't busy so I dread to think how long you would have to wait then!! The girl behind the bar was on her mobile the entire time we were in there. I'd rate this place very low for customer service, and don't really think we'll be back.

Decided to give the all day breakfast a go which proved to be delicious at a very good price, was served by a girl named Hollie who was very friendly and helpful, would definitely go again!

We stopped here for a drink and mid-day snack following a game of Golf. The food was good, hot and reasonably priced. We managed to get a few games of Pool in too. The staff were friendly too.

I had arrived in town on a coach trip. Not knowing the area I was looking for somewhere reasonable to eat lunch. My eyes were drawn to the ABoard outside advertising the all day breakfast. My friend and I entered the pub and quickly found a seat. We decided on the OAP specials for £3.99. The friendly girl behind the bar helped show us what we could order. The food arrived in good time. It was well presented and tasted wonderful. I said I would love to come back again if I lived nearer. Well done.

Stopped in this interesting little town to break a journey intending to have a good look round and a spot of lunch. Thought this looked like a nice pub, how wrong we were. Ordered a couple of straight forward pub meals and a couple of drinks and settled down to wait. Oh and did we wait, it was over an hour before our food appeared. I've never experienced such dreadful service and the staff did not seem particularly bothered. I was officered a complimentary diet coke but only after we complained and my partner did not want another beer. The food, when it eventually arrived, was fine but I had rather gone off the idea by then. We did not have time for a walk round the town so this dreadful place spoilt our whole day

Stopped off in ashby on the way to Birmingham it's a lovely pub serving typical pub fare and indeed our food was good.My issue was with the service it took an age for it to arrive and to us the place wasn't very full maybe we were just unlucky.I would visit again

Just visited the lamb and was glad I did Charlie behind the bar gave us a warm welcome with a beautiful smile,she asked if we would like any food and took our order,a short time later the food arrived by Holly,and again a lovely smile.The food was delicious and very reasonably priced.On leaving they wished us a safe journey and we left,but we will return,a big THANK YOU to Charlie and Holly for the warm welcome.

Six of us called here on our way to Weston-Super-Mere from Leeds.We were served by two lovely friendly girls ( Holly and Charlie ) who could not do enough for us and took the time to have a chat with us. The food was lovely, arrived quickly and no complaints from anyone.The friendly staff were a real treat in the middle of a long journey.WELL DONE!

A charming old pub with character, deceptively large inside. Called in for their breakfasts from £2.99 - hard to believe but turned out to be amazing. Their foot-long sausages are their signature dish. Have a belly buster, extremely huge breakfast for only slightly more money. Good quality, good service and pleasant surrounding . Seating is spacious so you arent overhearing the next tables conversations. Really very very good. I cant give it five stars because there is so much more on the menu I would like to try. I'll be back - oh and service was spot on.

This is quite lengthy,but please bear with me.We,as a family,have previously really enjoyed our regular visits here,and looked forward to having good reasonably-priced food too.That has all changed following our experience there yesterday afternoon.We will never return.On entering through the front door I was instantly surrounded by a human 'wall' of men,possibly football fans.I persevered to 'excuse me' my way through the concrete statures and found a calm clearing at the far end of the pub,thankfully there were only two tables occupied so I could choose from several places where to sit and eat in peace.My Husband had dropped me off outside and then gone off to park the car.He would then join me,bringing along our 5 month old puppy.I was concerned at this point,that the chances of them fighting their way through the front door without our dog getting trampled on were almost non-existant,and so rang my Husband's phone explaining the situation and that he should enter through the side door towards the rear of the premises.When he arrived we decided quickly what to eat and he went to the bar to order,only to return briefly after.There was no way he could get to the bar to order our meals,but he tried again and still came away as before.At this point,a waitress came out from the kitchen and I beckoned her over to help us.I explained what was happening,or not as the case may be,and expected a reply such as" Oh I'm sorry about that,as you can appreciate we are extremely busy,but if you can bear with me for a short while I will take care of your order at the bar for you."But no,what she actually said in a bolshy,useless,couldn't-care-less manner was "Well there's nothing I can do.I'm a woman and if I go down there I'm just gonna get groped."Then off she walked,down there,and happily started collecting empties from the exact area where she has just stated she would be groped.What a completely useless member of staff.Heaven forbid she was actually management! I must add,I have worked in the hospitality business for over 12 years, and this IS NOT how you treat the paying customer.At this point we got up and left in disgust.Basic advise- Think seriously about retraining your staff,and find an alternative way of food ordering,for when people wanting to eat cannot access the bar area to order food from the menu.This is unacceptable and I imagine we are not the only customers you have let down in this way.I must say,following our exit from the premises,we enjoyed a lovely friendly welcome at The White Hart and had a great meal.That pub will now be our regular choice instead of The Lamb.
