Great atmosphere. We are more local than we are at home. Friendly bunch of people.

Went after taxi issues and needed somewhere to go for half an hour whilst we waited, after our Wine Club meeting at the Palace. Very impressed - really nicely done out. Staff friendly and quite happy to serve us coffee. Wish it was nearer as would happily make it my local.

A lovely friendly pub with a nice atmosphere both inside & outside in the undercover area. We are always made to feel welcome by the lovely people that own & run it aswell as the locals. Best of all the beer & cider is so well kept & has you coming back for more - especially the Cold River cider in my case 😋😆. Unfortunately I'm unable to drink at the moment but I'm sure my husband will be persuading me to go in soon as he loves the Guinness at The Ram . Maybe I'll have nice Alcohol free beer 🍺 instead.

Brilliant service and amazing family pub but owner, Sam is very rude and makes erroneous assumptions based on punters opinions, fair enough she has a pub to run but no need for how she treats some evidently. Wouldn’t recommend if your not local, you’ll gain a bad name just from having a nice after work drink…

On occasion, the service has been a little untentitive, but for the most part good. We sometimes feel a little out of place, but none the less a relatively good atmosphere outside when there is some good music on. We haven't yet been to one of the live music evenings which may add to the atmosphere and review stars, however the times we have been have not typically been 'busy' times. Very well priced and clean pint 👍

Great pub with all you need for a good night out. Great landlord/lady and staff. So welcoming and they really look after their locals. No riff raff. Just lovely people enjoying this great venue and its laid back atmosphere. They have lots of live music too. I would definitely recommend it.

Attended one of their many events. Everyone is so friendly there, if I lived nearer it would definitely be my local

Previous visits have been good but right now it is still closed by covid19 government lockdown.

New to the area I popped into a few of the local pubs. Received a friendly welcome and explanation of the COVID rules. I will return.

Friendly atmosphere and very polite sensible hosts. Even better since their lockdown refurbishment in particular the urinals are an experience not to miss! Good to see they are taking Covid19 very seriously and making extra efforts to keep us safe.

It's been renovated to a high standard, attention to detail is spot on. Nice out door area at the back with a log burner, cracking pint - need to go in more often.

After living in near by Ellistow for five years, I thought I would show my family the local area (Ashby, coalville, Ibstock) The visit to 'The ram' seemed pleasant with reasonable priced drinks, a very quiet amtompshere and friendly staff. However upon leaving, we were confronted with a very intoxicated Scottsman, throwing about accusation around about a mess left in the toilets. At first this was laughable. As family we had used the facilities once for no less than a minute or two. But this abuse CONTINUED repeatedly as we left, with another local joining in. This was in an attempt to embarrasse our family and single us out as unfamiliar faces. We left as intended without giving satisfaction to the local 'hard men' . But as first time visitors, it does seem apparent why the place is so empty on a saturday eveninfe. I would suggest intoxicated locals may need addressing in order to encourage new customers. Embarrassing and attempting to shame new faces is never going to be healthy for a small business. Based on our experience we will never look to return.

Very hostile atmosphere and very rude service! Heckled over as soon as we walked in and told not to sit until we had brought drinks, even though we were looking for a table in a very busy pub! Would not return again and felt very upset at the way we were spoken too.
