The Plough in North West Leicestershire

Pretty little pub just off the main drag. Nice beer garden. My beer was excellent. And further proof that not all pubs are dying. It was buzzing in here when I visited.

Just started to go back after the old landlord left. It has got its atmosphere back, the beer's good and the service was great.

Arrived at 9.30pm on a Sunday evening to be told that they were closing and “ had to be clear by10.00pm”. I was not even offered a quick pint to drink up fast. I’ve been going to this pub quite regularly for about 20 years but won’t be going there again. I felt like I was in a time machine and had gone back to 1950! I should thank them really. I went to Wetherspoons and had a nice evening. They are quite happy to serve customers!

Very nice pub on traditional lines no food on as such but had a very nice ham sandwich food served at weekend apparently

Great pub, nice landlord, quite night as a Wednesday night .. however good atmosphere and just right .. the Bass was spot on as was the Proper Job 10/10

The staff are rude and they take your drinks before they're finished go to the bowling green instead.

So friendly and welcoming. The landlord and landlady (Bobby and Dette) are glad to see all of their customers come through the doors. Perfect social distancing practices in place also.

Thank you. We were marshalling at the Remembrance parade this morning and the landlord came out to offer us coffee saying there were takeaway cups. When the first parade was completed we popped into The Plough to buy a coffee to warm up. The landlord gave these free of charge with some snacks. Lovely warm fire too. Great hospitality. Thank you.

Went to ashby de la zouch for a night out parked car with just park brilliant Accommodation was the queens head ashby, avoid clean but not worth the money, sheep in Wolfsburg clothing Anyway the plough after exploring castle do recommend, explored town , walked down side street found the plough started off there at 11am made very welcome and my girlfriend and I decided to gi back later Had lunch round town went on pub crawl, went to dogs to book in , then had evening meal at thai restaurant opposite then went straight back to plough absolutely superb evening band on complementarity chips , good selection of beers and real ales including ciders and lagers, brilliant night brilliant people highly recommended if you want something different

Brilliant pub excellent landlord and staff went there this bank holiday started there at 11am finished there at 11pm after exploring town had lunch out and evening meal accommodation at queens head average but the plough made up for it , good selection of real ales , lagers and ciders brilliant evening highly reccomend, off main drag explore you'll find it brilliant

Although we don't visit ashby often, the plough is definitely a favourite. Friendly staff, lovely decor, fab entertainment and a good selection of drinks to choose from. I had a fabulous birthday here last year!

Fantastic little pub close to the centre of Ashby. Cottage style building with a nice comfortable atmosphere, and welcoming hosts. This is a drinking pub with regular live music based around pop and rock mostly, which is well frequented by the locals. Can be a bit busy on Fridays and Saturdays, but this just adds to the atmosphere. There is a large beer garden at the rear, with shelter, and sometimes the bands perform outside which is rare and very enjoyable. Well worth a visit if you are into music and fun.

Nice little boozer just off the high street, usual beers and wines, no food served, no pool table, no fruit machines and a better atmosphere for it! Not the biggest pub on world so it can get packed, usually have a band on a Saturday night and a DJ on Friday night

We ended up down here for work and had some food and drinks, friendly traditional place, service and staff were good, food was ok

The pub looks fantastic, inside and out. The waiting staff are efficient and friendly but the food could do with being better. The hallumi stater was very nice but the main meal had soggy oven type chips and the vegetables were overcooked and cold. We were a group of seven and we all had different dishes and not one of us could really say we enjoyed it. My friend only gave it a 4 out of 10. Its quite pricey so we should expect a better quality of food. I will not recommend this place.

Es raro encontrar una joya como la barredora Inn Ashby. Gran selección de cervezas, sidra y en proyecto de lager actualmente no hay comida pero el cerdo scratchings memorable.. "Anfitriones mía" son más que acogedores y una multitud de simpáticos asiduos están más que dispuestos a conversar con usted. Una experiencia genial y se lo recomiendo a cualquiera que le guste todo lo que es genial sobre un gran pub británico. ¿mencioné los dardos y un pub piano?

This has to be one of my favourite evening meal venues.I have eaten here a fair few times and never once been disappointed, the food is always lovely and very tasty! The service has always been fairly quick with lovely friendly staff.It's beautiful to sit outside on evening nights as its by the canal! And the top up chips, salad and veg is spot on!Lovely restaurant and lovely food!! It's worth a visit!!

Dirigido por Bob y 'vedette y el personal. Craqueo pinta de San Miguel, pero son también una gran Ale pub. También tienen un buen desayuno por las mañanas. Y normalmente hay entretenimiento de algún tipo en el fin de semana. Un buen pub tradicional para un bocado agradable beber/comer!

El propietario y casera no pueden hacer lo suficiente para que se sienta como en casa. Me será pronto.

Was on a night out with friends and decided to pop into the Plough as i hadn't been in for several months and fancied a change of scenery. Wish I hadn't bothered... The young girl behind the bar seemed more interested in flirting with customers and gossiping with her friends than in serving anyone. Took so long to get served at one point, we ended up walking out and going to the bull. It wasn't even that busy so no excuse for not providing better service.

The Bass is spot on. The staff are always welcoming.

Visiting with friends from Australia couldn't believe the value for money food. It's a simple bar menu but quality tasty pub tucker. Friendly staff. Will be returning!

Dreadful, used to be the only decent pub in Ashby, with decent beer and somewhere you could actually have a conversation. It's gone downhill big time, don't see the point now, go to the Bull, Lamb etc. all I can say is Karioke.

This used to be a great place for a pint but having just visited recently I'll certainly will not be going back. The place stank probably why it was empty and the prices, thought I was in London. Pint of lager and a vodka tonic £11. I was in The Shoulder of Mutton before going there and it was £5 cheaper. Where they got there prices from I don't know. From being one of the best pubs in Ashby it is now the worst.

Nice small pub hidden out of the way in Ashby, with proper ales and bar food. When we went it was quite popular with families with children. A nice atmosphere and an interesting looking selection of food- we will be back!
