We had reserved a table, arrived and told where to sit with the drinks we ordered. After ordering the food, we waited and were happy when our food came. At that point we were told were needed to move tables as there was a large table coming and they needed our table. We moved from table 6 to table 4, squashed in the corner on a wobbly table. Moving our belongings, drinks and food. At this point my meal of steak, was cold and I returned this. My partner ate his meal and mine arrived after he had finished his, not quite the meal out together we were hoping for. My partner once I had finished ordered a dessert, Apple crumble and custard. This toom a considerable time to come and was luke warm at best. We went to pay and not asked if our meal was ok or offered any apologies for the experience. For somewhere we normally love, visiting today has marred our thoughts on the place considerably.

Solo comimos una vez allí, pero habíamos jurado que si estuviéramos en el distrito en el futuro sería nuestro lugar al que ir. La comida en nuestra visita estaba bien preparada y bien presentada, y esperamos volver. Qué vergüenza para ellos.

Love this place and since discovering, have been quite a few times. Always a great selection of freshly made food and cakes at really good prices, plus the little farm shop where you can lots of goodies to take home. Delicious food and welcoming staff. Undercover outdoor barn area for seating so just need to wrap up warm when it's chilly - but all adds to the experience.

Used to work here, the owners are horrible people. I was 15 (pre and post covid, only just writing this review) working the bar alone. Shouted at if I poured a pint yet if I asked them to help as I was underaged shouted at again. Never a place has made me so uncomfortable. I was yelled at everyday for anything and everything. Made to help their child with homework while trying to work. When I finally left to a much nicer pub. I was told “after everything we have done for you, paying you!” As if my furlough during Covid didn’t decrease every month ?! Do not give your hard earned money to people who treat their staff like this! Reading the other replies they still act this way! P.S. I agree health inspectors needed here!!

Great little pub , offering a good choice of food and drinks . Food ordered was freshly prepared , and Served in a timely manner . Superb value for money meals , and excellent portions - which tasted delicious . Dog friendly too , which is always a plus + Staff were friendly, and accommodating, I would recommend eating here .

Pasamos una noche maravillosa en la Vicaría Vieja desde el momento en que nos detuvimos en la entrada de grava. El edificio es precioso y la vieja campana de la puerta fue contestada rápidamente y nos dieron la bienvenida y nos llevaron al salón. La decoración es tradicional y hermosa y disfrutamos de una copa de champán vintage mientras leíamos el menú. Luego nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. El comedor es de un tamaño razonable y las mesas no estaban una encima de la otra. La comida era excepcional. Absolutamente exquisito. Tenía el menú degustación vegetariano y mi marido tenía el menú degustación principal, ambos con un vuelo de vino maridado. El sumiller presentó los vinos y proporcionó notas de cata. Él era muy bien informado pero amable y no era de ninguna manera intimidante. He publicado fotos de la comida y los menús. Cada plato fue excepcional, presentado maravillosamente, muy sabroso y nos quedamos bolos. El pudin de chocolate y cereza fue probablemente el mejor postre que he probado. Me hubiera encantado haber terminado con queso pero no pude con otro bocado así que me retraje al panelado para tomar café y oporto (con chocolates caseros). Una velada excepcional y muy agradable. No hay desventajas reales. Pensé que era una gran relación calidad-precio dado el estándar. La temperatura era un poco fresca y podría haber sido agradable tener un poco de música de fondo suave. Encontré uno de los cursos un poco más sazonado, pero en general recomendaría este lugar muy altamente. Lástima que no hagan habitaciones para que los huéspedes puedan quedarse.

Nuestra 1 visita a The Swan desde 2018 . Buena comida en buenas porciones a precios competitivos. A pesar de que el lugar estaba ocupado (31 de octubre de la calle - Era Halloween) nuestra comida se sirvió a tiempo. Estaba caliente y muy sabroso. Mi esposa tenía carne y pastel de patata y yo una hamburguesa doble. El personal amable y cortés hizo de la noche una experiencia muy agradable. ¡No pasarán 6 años antes de que volvamos a visitarlo!

Service was terrible, very slow, mains order.long time coming, desert order was so slow we left without ordering, ran out roast dinners early, will not go again

Great food and great service from Debbie. Food was served quickly and hot. Debbie couldn’t do enough for us. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
