Terrible experience! Been to many pubs and restaurants in the Peak District but never had such a hostile experience. Most of the staff members were nice, some even lovely but one particular senior member of the staff was particularly inhospitable and put simply Rude! Not only was she not able to manage a smile on her face, we unfortunately had the front row seat to her giving patrons dirty looks and rudely telling patrons off. Not sure, who hired her but she’s definitely made sure we wouldn’t be returning customers of Bridge Inn. In fact, even after we paid the bill and got up to leave, she prompted one of the other staff members to stop us and ask that we pay the bill. When we told her the bill was paid, she looked at us blankly and asked that we produce a receipt. Thankfully we hadn’t thrown away the receipt. Of course, once we showed the receipt, she looked away like we were dismissed but the other staff member did say thank you. You’d think that their system would show that the front table of 5 (next to the bar) with a bill of £90 was paid. We love going to pubs and restaurants in the Peak and entertaining guests, but we will be avoiding this one for sure!

Only called in for a pint, first time visit, very polite bar staff and a lovely cosy feel as soon as you walk in, as I would say, " a proper country pub feel " definitely be calling in again 🙂👍. Now had several meals and all have been excellent, especially the fish dishes, and the right size portions😋.

I worked here for a month, and the male owner Paul, is rude, aggressive and hostile! He shouted at me like a dog!! All I did was serve a customer! He has no respect for staff, that's why they have such a fast turn over of staff and no customers ! He has no desire to treat staff in any respect at all! The he worst place I've ever worked by far!!!! The food is so basic, bland and boring! And if you could see the prep in the back.....you wouldn't go back!!!! and the dog is allowed to roam around the kitchen! Also, the place smells like wet dog all the time, this is why the pub is so dead, glad I went back my old work which is heaving and packed all the time, not like this place which should be shut down! HEALTH INSPECTOR PLEASE!!!!

Pub smelt of toilets as we walked in. Zero people inside the pub, a few people outside despite it being a lovely sunny day. Ordered 3 main meals including the caesar salad for myself and a side of chips for the table. We waited for what seemed like an eternity and when it came my heart sank. It consisted of yellow lettuce leaves and 6 croutons which can only be described as inedible at a cost of £9.95 and I paid £4 extra for a piece of anaemic looking chicken. I was hungry so ate the chicken and was going to tell the one member of staff (serving food and the bar) when she came to ask if everything was OK. She never came and we had to leave. Will never return for food. The only saving grace is that it's in a nice spot for a walk hence the 1*

Cosy little pub! We came here for some lunch as the weather was nice and we wanted to sit outside with some food. Lovely little spot, plenty of outdoor seating, the food menu was small and nice for those wanting to eat outdoors. I had the roast meat of the day sandwich with Gravy and home cooked chips. It was delicious! My husband had the chicken burger and my daughter had chicken nuggets. We sat over the little bridge in a garden area which my daughter enjoyed walking round and spotting all the little wildlife. Overall we had a lovely couple of hours here and would definitely come again. ☺️

Booked a table for 16, didn’t ask if we wanted to pre-order so assumed there was enough staff. Food was nice, we had a lovely Sunday lunch previously and it was beautiful so decide to book for a birthday. There was only one bar staff on and 2 younger servers who couldn’t serve alcohol so the service was really slow and waited over an hour. The lager was flat and not good at all so I had to take it back. My mother is gluten free so she had liver and mash, when we got the bill she was charged for the gravy, which I found insulting. If you have meal especially with mash you expect gravy not a dry meal. The pub is beautiful and I think service needs to be looked at. I did feel like getting behind the bar at one point to show how it’s done at fast pace so people don’t have to wait. Don’t think we will be back which is a shame.

The pork came with amazing piece of crackling, all our meals came with potatoes mashed and roast, a lovely well cooked selection of vegetables, homemade Yorkshire pudding which if I'm honest was a little dry and overcooked but at least it was homemade. The gravy was very tasty, we all enjoyed our meals and will return to The Bridge Inn again, staff are lovely and the surroundings are nice too, all in all a great lunch out thank you.

Although the pub is friendly enough, and more than caters for muddy booted walkers stopping in for a drink and a snack, the food wasn’t all that. We both had a Butcher’s Sausage Sandwich. I’d like to know the name of the butcher, so that I never buy anything from them. Not nice. I was reliably informed by my friends that the Guinness was good, mind, and as we all know, a good beer is the real reason for going to a pub, not sausage baps.

Wanted to go out of my way to leave a positive review for the Fox & Goose. Living fairly locally, we drop in time to time and on Sunday just gone, we did so with our little boy. We hadn't booked nor were we having any food. Just a drink at the bar. Those dining had the opportunity to 'meet santa' in a cordoned off area. Spotting we had a little boy with us, the bar staff kindly invited him in to meet Santa despite us not dining etc. My little boy loved it and was thrilled with his little present. Unbeknown to them, due to work commitments I'd been unable to attend our booked Santa visit elsewhere so this impromptu meeting of the man himself, was that bit more special for us as the parents. Lovely venue with great food and drink but above all that - the staff puts it above other venues. Thanks again!
