Vegetables was frozen not fresh not cooked properly they was hard cut in to my roast potato and it was black inside never got asked if anyone had a food allergy not good for business never got asked till the end bye young boy who was serving if everything was ok won't be coming back

Could be an amazing pub if they cleaned up the kids play area and invested in a bit of new equipment.

The meals here are delicious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend

welcoming pub, good sized carpark and friendly staff, always there to have a laugh with you and make you feel welcome and wanted in the pub. good food and portion sizes especially the sunday roasts are a family favourite for us.

Really lovely friendly pub. Staff were amazing and offered a very warm welcome. Decor is a bit dated and it's not very cosy but the staff make it a worthwhile stopping point.

When visiting the fox and hounds I enjoyed the view of the farmlands outside of the pub. The staff are friendly and helpful, other than this if you need a place to socialize or just a place to relax in quiet, this pub is ideal. I enjoyed myself here and will come back if I find the spare time.

An unplanned call off for a nice Sunday roast and a drink after a walk. My Son made the most of the play area. Not too busy, nice staff, all in all a good visit

Absolutely terrible!! Had table booked. Arrived early for a drink. One bar staff on, she was totally stressed out. ST down for the meals. Barmaid was totally focusing on drinks. Owner came out. He also focused on serving drinks. After 30 minutes our party of 5 decided to leave. I mentioned to the owner that the service was disgraceful. He said. It’s not our fault we are short staffed, I replied, Wel it’s not our fault you run a business, so it is your fault. He said, you know where the door is. Terrible landlord with no manners and no idea how to talk to customers or run a business. No stars for me.

We came for a drink with our son and the kids play area was really good and there was plenty of seats for us. The drinks were good value.

Sat outside in garden, very relaxing, good views, even saw a exotic bird,will defo go again soon.

Terrible communication. We asked about food, bought drinks, then 10 mins later we went to order our meals but was told kitchen was closing early due to a function in 2 hours. As locals we'll avoid in future.

Excellent village pub! Walk from Eckington as it's better than any in that village!

Limited menu BUT what there is is Excellent, tasty & well presented, in a charming setting with friendly hosts. We can highly recommend it. Dogs are also welcome, how lovely to be able to bring our canine friends in.

Very nice food , hot and good portion. I had steak n ale pie , delicious My husband had double bacon cheese burger he said was fabulous, we also had a side of cheese garlic bread yum

Fantastic service, atmosphere, decor, food, value etc. Very well kept and clean establishment. Nice mix of modern and retro. Service was excellent and food was divine. Absolutely loved my chip butty with perfectly cooked chips and the fresh herb on it, I think parsley? Also a very dog friendly establishment and if I am nearby again, I'll gladly visit again without hesitation and try a main course too. Thanks very much.

Called in yesterday from passing to have food and drinks, sat down after getting drinks. Menu was sparse. Not a lot to choose from. We ordered a steak and a burger, only to be told sometime later that they had run out. Why not tell us when ordering drinks what was not on the menu? Because it was mainly fish left, which I don't eat, opted for the mushroom stroganoff. It came and it was more like a mushroom soup. Awful meal, so salty, chips were disgusting 🤢. Chef certainly likes to salt everything. Don't waste your money in this pub 😞

Been out for a catch up with friends, this place is great, you can have a chat and actually hear each other speak, fantastic food, very welcoming and friendly, great landlord and landlady, if passing through give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

A warm and welcoming, friendly pub. Well kept Cask and Traditional Beers, a nice selection of wine and a warm welcome from the Landlord and Landlady.

Lovely, cosy pub with very friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Some very nice, modern touches whilst retaining some original features of the building. Great food served, good sized portions (childrens meals are huge!)and good prices. Toilets cleaned regularly. Nice outdoor seating and play area. Will definitely return soon.

Called in today and had a cracking pint and some delicious food and nothing was to much trouble. The landlord and his staff were very friendly and I shall be returning very soon. Thanks for a great dining experience in very pleasant surroundings.

Staying at local b&b, found this place for an evening pint so went in with no prior knowledge. Lovely staff, lovely beer garden. Food is fantastic as well. If I'm ever back in this area, I'd happily return.

Well has it happens I told my Mrs about the experience I had at the fox and hounds. Now my Mrs is very particular in what she eats and we frequently use places that deliver. We are not posh or picky , but when you have kids and the world is like it is, robbing us with fuel , elec n shopping we make sure we get good value for money. Now my Mrs gave me the look when I mentioned somewhere new I said please come and try. She agreed . Fish , chips and garden peas , straight John , As it happens I did not get the look as that it’s ok marrrr , I will just eat it and have words with you later , happy wife happy life. She tucked in and did not stop until it was finished , she wouldn’t even let me try any of hers hmmmm. I had the special on the menu. DUCK ! What a delight , unbelievable Jeff !! My thanks to the bar staff and especially to the Chef for an absolutely delightful experience of food genius . We will be back!!!!

I am always an upbeat person and my glass is always half full, but this week I have life’s kicks . Personal health issues and a death in the family. I came to the fox and hounds to relieve myself of the stress. I asked for a steak n chips n whatever comes with it. It arrives it looks fantastic, the first bite took my worries away and this is genuine, from the first bite to the last mouthful I can only describe the meal as perfection. After I finished I didn’t comment I had to just sit outside with my glass of red , I was in a place of tranquility for a good while and forgot my problems. This comment is not to give any specific thanks to anyone but the whole thirty minute experience was an absolute delight. But as I am commenting I would like to thank the Chef for a wonderful ordeal I have just had!

Just finishing up our meal and I'm leaving this review! Pubs been under new management for 3 months and working with a limited menu and limited kitchen resources! Table for 8 and our meals all came out together piping hot and cooked to perfection! Will be back again and can't wait to see their full menu once the new kitchen is installed! Chicken Burger is seriously next level steaks a good shout too!

Haven't been here for a few year's called in our way past it's got a new manager I had fish & chips & my partner had burger & chips great food & good manager & good staff.

Just popped in for lunch, had two spaniels with us! Really welcoming, choice of beers was great, we both ate and food was above expectation! Gammon was amazing! Recommend highly!

Food very nice Not much on the Real Ale side

Sat in the beer garden and had marvellous steak baguette with slaw, salad, onion rings and tasty fries. Plenty of it and all delicious. Tables well spaced. Nothing to complain about at all. Will go again.

Had a meal yesterday and have to say the food was absolutely fantastic and very reasonably priced. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Great little place in a fantastic location and brilliant play are for the kids. We will definitely be back 👌

Pint of hobgoblin gold and a vegan panang curry. Nice seating area inside, staff were pleasant curry was Ok but not wonderful.

Good quality basic pub food at reasonable prices. Staff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Service was good and portion sizes more than adequate for even the largest appetite. Would definitely visit again.

Went for Sunday lunch. Staff friendly and helpful even though busy. Food was really nice , we had different meat all tender and the pumpkin seed and nut roast which was different but good.

Feels like normal, served at our table, but otherwise like the old days. Good atmosphere and friendly

Turned up today, decent kids play area and all was well. Ordered drinks and came to the table which was a good service. The only issue which really pi**ed me off was when they handed me a menu, everyone wanted something different and went to order only to be told Sunday menu only. Wish they told me this before ordering drink! Supped up our drinks and left!

Lovely pub, very welcoming staff, my one and ONLY critism is right outside the kitchen door is a FULL tin full of cigarette butts!! This put me off wanting to ever order food. It doesn't look nice seeing kitchen staff smoking right outside! I'd like to see this moved before I order a meal.. Other then that inside was lovely x

Had a beer in the garden followed by a burger and chips. Went down a treat, very tasty. Pleasant , friendly pub. Well worth a visit.

I enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly.

The outside lawn was slightly downhill with dips, they could of done with some patio heaters, the food menu only had had 6 meals, lm in a powerchair & even the disabled toilet area was tight. I couldn't even watch my daughter in the play park because of raised decking

Not very organised, ordered drinks and waited 30 minutes for them to be delivered then said it was £19.70 for 3 drinks when it should have been £10.70

Had a fantastic meal for two at the Fox and Hounds last night...I had the steak and my partner the Thai fish cakes..both meals were cooked fresh to order and were the best we'd had for a very long time.The staff were great and worked hard to provide great service..top marks to the chef...give it a try ..you wont regret it.

It's a very friendly place to be. Warm and comforting with a good selection of ales beers wines and spirits together with a varied menue. Certainly worth your inspection.

Brilliant pub that is adhering so well with the current measures in place. Only visited for drinks so far but will definatly be back to try the food after the great reviews from other customers!

Just been and had the most beautiful meal with very friendly staff and the food was fantastic

Food was very nice. Sunday dinner was the best I've had in a long time. Took a long time to come but they were very busy. A good pint aswell. What wasn't very good was the lack of covid rules being enforced. A group of blokes were continually going up to the bar, and wandering around, without masks. They remained totally unchallenged by the staff. Everyone else in the establishment was adhering to the rules. When my mother in law complained one of the group wafted a mask in her face. The manager was very unapologetic, "what can we do?". Well, no mask, no service, no entry!!!! Won't be rushing back which is a shame.

This pub is not what it once was. The menu is not as interesting and the food was a bit Meh... dessert choices were chocolate brownie sundae , a cheese cake or a piece of cake 😅

We went for Sunday lunch the food was delicious very tasty staff were very good she forgot the spoon for the veg not a big problem. When we came to pay the drinks n the food were on different bills???? She had to add it up so we could pay cash. I've never known that before??? Overall we had a lovely meal.
