Pub food. Edit me but not great. Prepared using deep fat frier and microwave.

Food was excellent and staff were so friendly and attentive.

Great food, fast and friendly service. Will be going back again! The sticky chicken was particularly good.

Great location, great food and fantastic staff

Service was excellent, we never felt rushed and we were able to finish our courses in peace. The food was good. The staff were friendly. The position of the Bridge, next to the river, in the warm spring sunshine was particularly pleasant.

Shame on you Marstons if you can’t do better than the poor quality meal had today, glad I wasn’t paying full price for such poor quality. Chunky tripple cooked (frozen) chips were colourless, floury and bland. Chicken chnitzell was I suspect only half of a chicken breast (not butterfly) coated and fried? Was dry and hard to eat. Lasagne looked very un appetising in size and colour. 3rd diner had sausage n mash which he said was ok. Sorry but you need to look at the poster by the ladies toilet and take note. Won’t be visiting again. Didn’t stay for pudding . Only good bit were the pints of Inch’s Orchard Cider.

Excellent food although very expensive, good service, nice clean and attractive environment, good parking in a nice location, what more do you need.

I'm not sure this pub deserves more than 4 stars. The service is friendly and efficient, the toilets were basic clean toilets, plenty of car parking including blue badge parking (no EV charging points that I could see). Alas the food and drink is where the place loses the extra star. The food is no better than chain pub food, (freezer to fryer, boil in the bag). In order to get 5 stars I would expect to see more local beers on tap, less deep fried food on the menu, (every dish seems to be a plate of something brown and deep fried) and an exceptional wine list. The Sunday lunch is piled high and served cheaply. A rare beef offering on a Sunday would be good. Perhaps the Yorkshire puddings could be a little less crispy and a bit more fluffy. IMO size doesn't count when it comes to yorkies.

Visited today. Food was good, staff friendly but I was appalled when my partner paid £12 for a glass of Malbec! That's more than London prices, it's only an ordinary eating pub after all. Admittedly I didn't look at the wine list but I presumed it would be a house wine. I think it should have been pointed out on the list to check if that's the one I wanted. All one can do is pay up and look happy but I'll be voting with my feet and avoid going there again. Sue

Had previously written a fantastic review about this pub only a year ago, however it has gone massively downhill. While the food was nice and cooked well, the portion sizes are now quite small (very few chips, no coleslaw/salad with burgers, small steak, dribble of custard.) One meal order was incorrect (not the fault of the server, who repeated the correct order). The pudding also came with a different flavour ice cream than which was on the menu. Allergens were not taken seriously/passed off as "it should be ok." Prices have also gone up but quality has gone down. The worst thing however was the service. The staff have always been amazing there but tonight they couldn't care less. We tried multiple times to put drink orders through. We tried 4 times to ask for the bill, of which 2 members of staff walked off and away from us with no reply. I asked to use the baby change facilities (whilst holding a baby) - I was told they needed to escort me to unlock the door because people steal the keys. When the server dropped a key, I let him know, his reply was 'yeah, I know' and carried on walking. Used to love this pub but shall not be returning in future. We visited The Greyhound at Higham (same chain) recently as well and had a much better experience - staff and food quality/quantity.

The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was excellent.

Friendly service and good food. The only disappointment was that several items on the menu were sold out but pub had been very busy.

Just returned from this lovely, clean pub. Staff friendly and attentive. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was delicious and not one morsel left on the plates. Reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and visit again! Thank you.

I've only knocked a star off the food because we called in for a Sunday roast and it was served on cold plates so the food started to go cool very quickly. Other than that the food was nice. We were missing the crackling which was advertised too. We have visited the quiz too and can recommend that too. Great atmosphere.

Service was terrible, very slow, mains order.long time coming, desert order was so slow we left without ordering, ran out roast dinners early, will not go again

Nice warm pub just on the edge of Duffield. Great for a meal after a day walking and they are also dog friendly. Plenty of seats, I didn't book in advance

Sadly disapppointed with here. We were away for a weekend & booked The Bridge Inn as read good reviews. The service was really slow, despite there being several staff members standing around. The food was so so, quiet bland & tasteless. I honestly had hoped for a good visit having read other reviews, whether it was because we were there on a Sunday or the time of year I am unsure but we won't be going again nor recommending to friends visiting area.

Although a lovely place the food was not the best we ordered two mixed grills and was told they had run out this was at 7pm so not even late the portions are so small I felt very hungry after eating the small pie and chips it was more of a child portion the steak meals were awful with an awful taste to the mushrooms. Maybe if it was cheaper it wouldn’t seem so bad but for the prices you pay it’s definitely overpriced compared with other places we go to . Shame as the place itself is nice but sadly we won’t go there again

Sunday lunches and seabass was excellent as usual, a little disappointed with the sticky toffee pudding. It wasn’t very warm and a little dry as no caramel sauce on it. Service was also a little slow. However, we will still return as every other time we have been, service and food has been excellent,

Exceptional service and food quality at The Bridge Inn. They catered for all of our large parties requirements very professionally and positively.

We popped into this pub just by chance when returning back to our hotel. We didn't book but they found us a table. The young staff were all very friendly, polite and all worked well as a team. We had the Sunday turkey roast, it was one of the nicest meals we have had, the meat was tender and the vegetables had lots of flavour. We would definitely recommend eating a meal here. We will be returning in the future. Thanks for a lovely experience.

Really nice food and the staff are great!

I have been coming to The Bridge Inn for years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, however I was very disappointed recently, whilst the food was lovely, our experience was ruined by a staff member who I believe was called Adele, her manner was rude and blunt and we over heard her twice yelling at the waiting staff. The staff have always been lovely here so here's hoping its just one bad egg. But for us atmosphere is everything and this made us feel uncomfortable.

Omg, what a find. My friend introduced me to this most amazing place. I was overwhelmed with the whole experience, from the attentive service as soon as we entered. Given a table straight away even though we hadn't booked, they said not a problem at all. Our order was taken within minutes as it was table service, which is nice when they're right on it. The presentation and the quality of food was delicious. A little above average on price, but somewhere a little special to go. Right by the River Derwent too. Highly recommend a visit, if you want something a little more special. Was also asked if we had any allergies or dietary requirements, which you don't get everywhere.

I went with a group of friends for a pre Christmas meal and catch up. Mia our waitress was lovely. Very helpful and on hand for anything we needed. The food was delicious 😋. Mia managed to split our bill allowing some to pay cash and others by card. A lovely evening all round. Will definitely go again.

Excellent service at The Bridge Inn by Mia. Minor changes to order to accommodate child likes and dislikes were no problem. Service was quick. Reception to myself and three under age 12 was very generous and pleasant. A happy experience for us all.

Food was scored less as everything we wanted had sold out. The pork was cold and tough and there wasn’t much of it. The waitress and staff were lovely and service good.

Unfortunately very disappointed that the Kids meal was the same size as a normal meal.. the feeling of being ripped off as we left. Made the bar staff aware as we left but just got a nervous chuckle I thought a reduction in the price of a full meal was definitely in order.

A lively eating house, a pleasant young lady served us. I had Hunters chicken, not over impressed, chicken a little dry, the bbq sauce was rather bland. I would visit again but would try something different.

Great experience at The Bridge Inn tonight, thanks to Amber, who made our stay very welcoming.

We dropped in on a journey back from Bristol. My wife ordered the gammon steaks and eggs which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Hunters chicken which was more southern fried chicken than Hunters but still enjoyable and my Daughter had the sea bass which could have been seasoned better but was still good. The staff were lovely and friendly but once the food was ordered we were kind of left to our own devices. I think the least we would expect is for someone to ask if we wanted another drink during the meal or even how the meal was. But all in all it is a beautiful pub with some lovely food and friendly staff but maybe just a little more focus on the service

The staff were polite and cheerful. We all enjoyed the food. The restaurant was busy but service was prompt. One of the reasons I like the Bridge is that there is sufficient space around each table and even when busy it is not difficult to hear each other speak.

Nice pub in a location to match, by the river. Good pub atmosphere inside and a surprisingly big beer garden. Food was your standard pub grub, with a decent children's menu. Service was nice (however you could hear them talking negatively about other guests)

Despite a party of 11 and one of our party in a wheelchair we found all our needs catered for . With the additional 30% vouchers used made the evening very special

A solid 4/5 pub. Nothing spectacular, but nothing really to fault. Just maybe ask people if they want ice in their drinks. We weren't offered any and didn't get any (I'm sure they would have given us some if we'd asked, but it shouldn't really be necessary).

Went for my daughter’s birthday, as we usually like coming here . However quite disappointed this time . Service was abrupt, food was not great for the price, luckily we had a voucher, although when I said we had one I was told it had expired, which it hadn’t . They did accept it . I’m afraid we won’t be returning any time soon . My daughter’s food was cold and barely cooked , and mine was billed as a halloumi and red pepper dish , it contained 1 small slice of red pepper. Lots of onions though !

There was a guy behind the bar who was very abrupt which I didn't like. The sea bass was mediocre, as in not quite cooked and the atmosphere was zilch. I used to go in there for a Christmas meal but won't be going this year! Tbh it was the bar guy who put me off .. I asked the nice pleasant younger bar guy who the other guy was and he said bar staff like me.

The establishment was very welcoming and friendly. It was a relaxing atmosphere, on a wet thundery night outside, with service standards to a high. Despite a special plate not being available due to shortage (clearly a favourite of the evening) , there was plenty more to choose from and the dishes were extremely tasteful. I will be returning at some point , be it I book or casually drop it, as it's now a favourite to go.

We had a great experience - the Sunday dinner was amazing, the wine was delicious and all the staff were friendly and helpful! We have already recommended The Bridge Inn to friends and we will definitely be returning for another meal soon.

The service we was fantastic from the young lady who took out food order to the guys who brought our drinks over. My wife is a coeliac and the staff were all on the ball with this. The food was very good amd the atmosphere was pleasant. Will be going again felt very welcome.

The food is slightly expensive for what is served but it was good quality, the service & waitress was very good the atmosphere was comfortable but a little noisy but to expected as it was quite busy. The waitress was efficient & friendly, on the whole the visit was a good experience

Excellent food. Pedigree ale. Friendly bar staff. Spent 60 quid 2 fantastic meals. Went home full and merry. And 30% off main meals. We will be back.

This place seems to have gone downhill. The venue itself is lovely, next to the river (although you couldn't see the river because the bushes were so overgrown!) The food wasn't up to much. The starters came out fine but when the main came we had no cutlery, so had to ask for some. The waiter handed it over with his hands all over them and then I had to ask for a steak knife. The steak was tough and chewy. The staff were friendly but looked scruffy in just t shirts, jeans and trainers. They would look so much more professional in a uniform of some sort. I wouldn't recommend it for food unfortunately. Too pricey for the standard of food.

Service friendly efficient and flexible. We were with 2 children and able to select suitable child-friendly food even though not listed on menu to suit children,s requirements. Mi marido y yo tuvimos nuestra cena aquí hoy y fue encantador. Hemos estado una vez antes y lo disfrutamos así que decidimos ir hoy. La señora detrás de la barra, Nikki era muy amable a pesar de que estaba bastante ocupado que todavía se tomó el tiempo para hablar con los clientes. A mi marido le gusta una buena pinta de carlinga y sin duda le dio en el punto! Pensamos que estaríamos en una espera para la comida porque bastantes pedidos llegaron antes que el nuestro. Nos sorprendió gratamente, no esperamos demasiado. Mi esposo tenía la oferta de “pastel y una pinta”, pastel de carne y papa, había cortado papas fritas, mezclado verduras y salsa. Realmente disfrutó de esto y dijo que las fichas eran fantásticas. Tenía lubina, patatas nuevas y verduras mixtas, todo lo cual estaba perfectamente cocinado y no encontré ni un solo hueso. Sin duda volveremos.

We come fortnightly for the quiz but decided to eat on this occasion! Food was great value & served promptly & the staff are always friendly & helpful.

Sat outside, lovely environment, staff polite & friendly, only had beverages. Large establishment No body bumping into you overall enjoyed the experience. Maybe nxt time stop for food.

Connection to the WIFI is poor. The log in requires you to scroll back 1 month at a time to reach your birthday. Bit of a long process when you're 59, I gave up!!
