Great service by Ashley but hardly any food left on the menu so very limited choice especially GF choices. Burger came in 2 slices of bread (surely you can buy in GF burger buns) otherwise was a tasty burger... Staff were lovely though

Staff all very friendly helpful and quick. Food all lovely. Lots of space doesn't feel cramped.

Upon arrival the place looks excellent, inside is well looked after and very clean, was impressed. Staff very nice and friendly could not fault them For food we had halloumi fries for starter which were great, loved the presentation too. However for the mains we had a vegetable Thai red curry which was very watery and not much flavour and the rich beef lasagne which a lot of the meat was hard and can tell it had been overdone in a microwave. Not very flavourful too for a "rich beef" lasagne, however the garlic bread it comes with was to die for. Overall experience was okay.

Quiz night was outstanding, great atmosphere and great prices for food and drinks, staff were amazing, Imogen especially was super attentive.

Loved it all, new menu, very similar to old one, but so good. Sea bass with prawns and instead of new potatoes, served with diced saute potatoes the sauce was sooo delicious, definitely still a winner imo 😋👍

Genuinely a great time, rolled up for the quiz night and was a blast, normal drinks price and the food, just yes! Caramel Tart was on point, just everything needed. Great atmosphere, great staff and a great night.

Service time not acceptable,wasent even told there was a long wait for food ,this meal was pre booked for a 70th birthday party and they had ran out of steak etc ,both main and starter came at the same time,very poor service indeed

There was 12 of us who came for my birthday on 15/02/2025.Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially one lady but didn't get her name who went above and beyond and had a laugh with us.All the food came out hot and altogether . Couldn't fault anything.

Favourite place to eat. Brill food. Superb staff. Come here quite often, never had a bad meal. Can't recommend it enough.

Quite some time since I last visited the greyhound, and was quite disappointed on that occasion, but wow, what a difference this time. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and I left very happy. Food was some of the best pup food I have had for a long time. Tasted like it was home made, with lovely touches such as the tasty roast Carrots and really chunky apples in the crumble. Will be back soon.

It was a little cold sat in the draft from the door and toilets. The lovely ladies moved us to a different table which was lovely and cosy. Food was fabulous from the starters if pate, and soup. Bowls and plates were so warm. Our mains were delicious. My other half had dessert the chocolate bomb, he loved it. I was far too full. Whole experience - a very lovely evening. Will definitely be back.

Avoid if possible, food is cold & they rush you to get the next booking in, drink prices, expensive, more like city prices, so try elsewhere if possible, spoke to staff, but not interested !

Four of us went for lunch on Saturday 15th February. Brilliant friendly service and really good proper pub menu. Two of us had the tikka masala, the others the chicken and leek pie and the lasagne which were all lovely. The desserts and the coffee were also excellent. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants the proper pub experience with a few extras.

Excellent service by friendly and efficient staff. Even though we were a large group of 20, we were well looked after and food was delivered quickly. Excellent food, great menu.

Edit....... A new menu should not be tested on paying customers. A small discount should have been offered when something is sub standard. Normal procedure is to be asked how your meal is a few mins after you receive it and not when you have finished.......When you get asked how your meal is when you have finished and you say the garlic bread is inedible and all you get is thanks for your feedback we will let the kitchen know 😠 bad customer service as now won’t return or recommend to anyone. A small part of the meal but a big part of the whole going out experience spoiled.

We have been several times to the greyhound and on this occasion we was very disappointed. We had 3 children dining and had to ask for colouring crayons to go with their menu/activity sheet. When they eventually found them they were all broken. We then asked for a sharpener and they didn’t have one. All they could offer was 3 wax crayons (2 the same colour) and 1 biro pen. This has been an ongoing issue when we have come. I think this is a small cost to get more crayons and a sharpener. We had been an hour and half and only drinks and starters had been served. We had to chase the main courses. The kids garlic bread starter was hardly anything. Wouldn’t be enough for a toddler. The starter of chicken tenders were not tenders. It was a cut up chicken schnitzel that had no flavour. When the mains eventually came the main chicken schnitzel had no flavour either. The signature burger was described to have brisket on it but what we actually got was more like a chilli on it. Gravy on the kids sausage mash, lamb duo pie and beef and Merlot pie was just discoloured water. When we asked for a thicker gravy they brought out the southern fried gravy which was not nice to have with those dishes. The chicken burger we had to ask for a new cob as it had been left under the heat lamp for far too long so was rock solid. We did decide to have dessert permitting it wouldn’t take too long as 2 of the children were very tired (been there nearly 2 and half hours). Asked to have the apple and cherry crumble with pouring cream and it was told this was no issue to then at the point of serving desserts saying they actually couldn’t do it. This resulted in this dessert being cancelled and no other dessert ordered. Staff apologised for the wait and took 20% off the bill but this did not make up for what we was expecting. The Greyhound was chosen for a birthday celebration (even mentioned at time of booking) and no effort was made to make us feel it was an occasion and left with very disappointing food. Value for money was certainly not there either as recently dined at the Chilled Pubs chain for another birthday and worked out better value, better food and better service. Really disappointed and don’t think we shall be coming back any time soon.

Food - cold or not available on the menu Service - rude and slow Atmosphere - seated in the bar rather than the restaurant as requested. Too noisy to even have a conversation. Sat on very low down arm chairs which were not suitable for eating a meal. Very over priced.

Booked a table previously. Ordered food, after 75 mins asked where it was, told 5 mins. After 5 mins asked again, another 45 mins. So we left and got our money back.

Very disappointed. The food portion sizes not great. The fish and chips very poor. Only 5 chip's. The fish was only batter. Mushy peas dry.. not worth the money. Drinks well over priced. No discount. Sad to say I will not be returning. The party was 16 of us. We all agreed.

Wonderful, staff lovely, food great

Firstly The Greyhound is easy to find because it's on the main road and very well lit up. Parking up was easy as the car park is huge. We were welcomed by the greeter and led to our table. There are different areas to the restaurant with a central bar area. The atmosphere was relaxed and soothing and the smell of food was delightful. There was a slight delay for the food but with with so many covers that was to be expected on a Saturday night. Eating was a pleasure because the food was top notch and was also well presented. The staff were all cheerful and helpful. I will happily recommend this place to anyone and will certainly be coming again.

We had Sunday lunch here today and the meal and service was very good. When I went to pay I noticed on the til screen it said blue light card welcome. When I asked the young man if I could use my card he was very apologetic and said I could only use it if I had the app. Unfortunately my phone will not let me download the app so a suggestion is that you make it clear you can only use the blue light app at your restaurant not the card. Thank you.

Seriously, didn't expect the high quality of food and service that we enjoyed, I requested a quiet table in the corner which is exactly what the staff made so we got and although this is some distance from my home, I can't wait to go back.

We have just returned from The Greyhound after organising and attending a funeral wake for a close family member. Jason and his team were professional and reassuring right from the initial meeting. We felt confident that they would fulfil our wishes, but oh my word, they absolutely excelled them. They had prepared the seating and buffet tables exactly as requested, and when the food was brought out, we were blown away! Everything was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and delicious. There was such a variety of different hot buffet items, which made it stand out by far, compared to other wakes we have attended over the years. There was plenty of food to go round, and the staff kindly boxed up the leftovers for the family to take home. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the ambience was one of warmth and coziness - perfect for a cold, January day. The funeral director recommended The Greyhound to us, and we’re so glad that she did. We’ve just arrived home, and couldn’t be happier with the service and food we received. Thank you so much to Jason and his wonderful team 🙏

Visited the greyhound for the first time this week and I have to say omg the customer service was the best I’ve ever experienced in my whole life there was a gentleman and a lady that served us and words do not express how happy they was they made me feel very happy please go and experience this xx

Visited today for the first time since lockdown. So many changes and all for the better. The staff were attentive, warm and friendly and the service was great. We had planned on having the 3 course lunchtime deal, but were too full for dessert. The fish goujons were both delicious and much larger than expected. This will definitely not be the last time we visit. Well done team Greyhound

I recently visited The Greyhound and had a lovely experience. The pub has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly. The food was enjoyable, with the halloumi fries being a standout – perfectly crispy and absolutely delicious! My brother and I both ordered them, and we highly recommend them. I also tried the sticky chicken, which had a beautifully flavoured sauce, though the chicken itself was a little on the dry side. My brother had the buttermilk chicken tenders, and while they were tasty, they too were slightly dry. Despite that, we had a great time overall, and I’d happily return if I’m ever in the area again. It’s a great spot for a relaxed meal with fantastic service.

Waited nearly 2 hours for food won't be going again

Went as a party of 12,advertised as a 30% discount with a voucher, on arriving told voucher can only be used with a party of 8 people we asked if we could split down into 2 tables of 6 people ,we were told this wasn't possible An absolute joke ,as we were leaving more people were complaining about not being able to use to 30% discount as to many people in the party.foid pretty basic nothing to shout about,we won't be returning.

Firstly the staff were very friendly, attentive and professional. To receive a smile on arrival makes such a difference. The food was served in good time, piping hot with good helpings. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again.

Having driven past for over 3 years, we have been eager to visit. The outside gives the illusion of an independent pub with a cosy atmosphere and lovely home cooked food. We were very disappointed that the standard of food was the same as any chain pub. The staff seemed very unhappy to serve (which I can understand during the Christmas season, but it definitely brought the experience down.) The price of our drinks was ludicrous (£4 for a Pepsi Max!). We visited at lunchtime and the pub was by no means busy. We were told on entering it would be a 30 minute wait for food, but it didn’t take that long. I can’t imagine we will be visiting again.

Lovely pub just what we needed.

Booked in for a meal on New Year's Day and was told there would be a set menu. When we arrived, we realised it was the main menu being served instead, which didn't bother us too much, but we would have preferred to get the correct information when booking. Service was friendly and quick throughout, but they'd run out of some drinks and the food was disappointing. It was less than average pub food - small portions and generally bland tasting - for above average prices. It definitely didn't live up to some of the reviews we'd read before booking and, sadly, we won't be returning.

Such beautiful decor, warm and welcoming. I've only been once before for drinks but the food looked good so I was so looking forward to tasting it. I wasn't disappointed it was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful and our visit was everything I wanted it to be. We will definitely be returning.

Had Christmas Fayre meal for hubbys birthday. Very busy but loads of staff and great service. Very accomodating as we had to take 2 meals home as guests were unwell. Food was delicious tge turkey was gorgeous. Great stuff tge Greyhound

Lovely, welcoming front of house staff that could not do more to make our visit special (as always) . The 6 3 course meals were all as ordered, they were hot, well presented and very tasty. There was no rush bringing each course out giving us time to chat and enjoy our family outing. Staff frequently returned to check we had everything we needed . Really lovely experience thank you all!

Wonderful pub in a scenic location, we’ve been for family meals several times over the last few years and it’s always delicious. Perfectly cooked steaks leading to empty plates. The service is top notch and always super friendly and helpful. We always enjoy our time here.

Good pub grub in a pleasant and comfortable environment. Recommended. What stands out here is the friendly and attentive service provided by cheerful waitresses. These young ladies should be commended.

Dont go there I have just taken my 28 year old grandson and been refused a beer for him because they say he's underage ,funny thing is they served him 3 weeks ago. Rude staff and manager won't be going again.

We came for a family meal for a few birthdays that fall together. Service was good although a bit slow between courses which you would think would add to the quality. Starters 2 x tomato soup which was good. Pate which was good. Chicken tenders were tasty. Baked feta was very nice and something I'd not had before. Mains Sea bass lovely and a good sized portion Steak pie really tasty and the meat was tender. Chicken burger and fries really nice the chilli sauce gave it a bit of a kick. Now on to what was not great.... the steaks. 1 medium to well sirloin it was still very pink 1 steak americano small portion and the bbq topping didn't have much flavour. 1 medium rare sirloin very fatty and chewy 1 medium rare rib eye very chewy, the thinner part was more well cooked, the fitter half was medium and in fairness quite tasty just chewy. Desserts Sticky toffee pudding Apple and cherry crumble Lemon tart Baked cheesecake Salted caramel sundae All lovely, well presented and enjoyable. Overall the food was OK, won't be rushing back and definitely not for steak.

Me and my friend had pub quiz winnings to spend and having been to this place before and always had a good experience we chose it again. We had prebooked a table for just after lunch. On arrival we were immediately shown to our table and drinks provided within minutes. The pub was very busy but nevertheless the attention we got from two young ladies and a young man was excellent throughout our stay. So this review is a thank you for good food and drink but above all a thank you for the best service we have enjoyed in a long time.

In recent months we’ve popped in to meet up with friends or came with family and the dogs - bar area is dog friendly too so that’s always a bonus. Service has been great - staff are friendly and efficient, and there’s always a warm & welcoming atmosphere. Food has been spot on - well cooked with decent sized portions. Thank you!

Lovely meal and first class service

Great evening for our family Christmas meal. Paula was our server and she was fabulous, timely with checking on quality of food and if we needed anything extra. Also asked us if we wanted a photo taking at the end. Fab evening thank you so much

**EDIT** Since this review, i have returned twice, first time was midweek, wasn’t as impressed as the first time, food seemed to have gone downhill in quality but i thought hopefully its a one off. Then returned last week, food quality was terrible. Burger was burnt on the outside and pink in the centre. Coleslaw tasted off. The floor staff all seemed pretty miserable no smiles or welcomes. Won’t be returning now. Shame as it started off so well. **EDIT** Really nice pub, good pint and really good food. Staff i met were nice. Me and the Mrs had burgers and fries. My kind of pub decor warm, classic, country setting. Can’t say anything bad about it and looking forward to going back. Thanks very much 👍

A big party extremely well looked after by the staff!

Our visit was just so right. On arrival we were warmly greeted by a member of the staff team and taken to the dining area and given very comfortable seating and our drink orders taken. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed, and staff were polite, attentive, and at no time did we feel rushed. Our food was brought over in good time, it was nicely cooked, the portion sizes were well judged, and it was very tasty indeed. We have been so impressed on this visit, that we shall be returning very soon

Had a nice meal, I had Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings, Turkey was lovely & moist, good portions of veg, my friend had lasagne but unfortunately there wasn't enough sauce to her liking, everyone's taste is different, staff very friendly & chatty, my friend got offered her pudding free because she didnt like the lasagne, we thought that very kind, we both had the melt in middle chocolate pudding, it was huge & so soft. We stayed a while after our meal, we wasn't rushed to leave which was very nice. Nicely decorated for Christmas. We will definitely be coming back in new year. Can recommend. Thank you.

Staff were really friendly and we're grateful to them for accommodating a party of nine at short notice. The pub had a nice atmosphere and I thought the blankets were a nice touch. Table service wasn't the quickest and we waited a while for main courses after starters but we were a large party of nine coming in on a Saturday evening (after booking that same day) so that was to be expected. It's so expensive to eat out these days, the 30 per cent off really helped. The food was standard pub fare and 7 out of 9 of us really enjoyed what we had (the other two felt theirs was slightly overcooked and dry). Overall, the staff were friendly and their flexibility with the large, last minute booking meant that my in-laws could join us which made our day. This was more important than anything else. Thank you.

My wife and I took my elderly parents here for a meal on a Saturday lunchtime. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the ambience of the restaurant. Excellent and friendly service. Will certainly go back again.

Shout Out to Debbie one of our waitresses who went above and beyond fetching me some ice after I’d trapped my thumb in the car door, she’s a credit to any business!!!!
