The Swan in North East Derbyshire

Booked a table for lunch today (13/03) For myself and hubby who is wheelchair bound. I always ask for table one as this is more accessible for wheelchair users. Lovely and welcoming staff as always- the young man even remembered my choice of wine. I ordered the beef and Guinness stew with dumpling and chips. Husband had steak and kidney pie. Both were delicious with plenty of extremely tender steak, beautiful thick gravy and lots of kidney in hubby’s pie. Unfortunately I couldn’t do it the justice it deserved and didn’t finish it but I would definitely recommend the dish and hopefully it is kept on the menu and not just for St Patrick celebrations which I think it may be.

A lovely traditional pub, with great food and such a worm welcome. The pies are to die for, such a great selection. The staff were so friendly, we couldn’t have asked for more. We’re definitely coming back soon. It’s a must see if you’re in the area.

Our 8 yr old granddaughter’s birthday and able to take our little dog, which was a bonus & greatly appreciated. Food and service was excellent. Very impressed and will definitely return.

28th July 2023. I went to the Swan yesterday for some late breakfast/early lunch and I was thrilled by the very pleasant meal. The waiter was efficient, friendly and there wasn’t a long wait for the food. I had the Farmer’s Breakfast which was well presented, nicely cooked and more then enough to fill me. My Grandad had a Vegetarian Breakfast and he says the meal was full of flavour, and plentiful. We will definitely return in the coming weeks as it is one of my favourite places for breakfast.

Would definitely recommend to others. Great food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Pre-booking advisable as it can get very busy. Can sometimes feel a bit cramped as there isn't much room between tables.

Can I just thank the staff at The Swan in Ridgeway where I took my family of 14 for a meal, the meal was excellent the service the same, I would recommend this pub to anyone. Thank you The Swan

Just returned after visiting the swan inn for a family bank holiday meal Food on the whole good , however One of the group chose the home made meat and potato pie, mash and mushy peas ,on arrival the meal had no gravy either poured over or accompanying. The person asked the server ? Is there gravy ,to the reply did you order gravy ! Question…When is a meat and potato pie with mash n mushy peas not served with gravy as a accompanying side Answer .. at the swan it’s an extra for either 80p or £1.20 depending on how much you want So a little confused to say the least May I add no where on the menu does it say you need to buy gravy for your pie but I guess like us you just expect a pouring of gravy over the pie n mash or a jug with gravy to pour over your self So beware pie lovers .. make sure you order your gravy because it’s not part of the meal deal

Went midweek about 6.30pm, not been for a long time even though only a 5 minutes drive away. It as very busy so a good job we booked beforehand, we sat down after ordering our drinks of half pint of cider and lager at £2 each. After deciding what we wanted, I went back to the bar and ordered our food. I had chicken and mushroom pie with chips and mushy peas at £10, my wife had the lasagne, chips and salad at £9.50 both being very nice and plentiful. The pub is in the countryside but on the outskirts of sheffield with a nice and warm relaxing atmosphere.

It’s not very good as before cloudy beer means cloudy beer stop trying to fob customers off, eventually they change it but what hard work to do so three girls ganging up trying to convince me the beer would settle. 3 girls having girly chit chat not paying enough attention to your customers.The meat and potatoes pie was very average served with chips Mainly scraps I’m wondering if it’s changed hands because this place is not like it used to be I always loved it here but now I’m disappointed

Just want to give some appreciation for this lovely little pub myself, my partner and my family have visited a number of times. We’re always blown away by the quality of ingredients used in the pies. It’s now becoming a weekly revisit that we throughly look forward to and delivers every time. Service friendly and efficient and lovely warm atmosphere. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Visited with my partner for some lunch and the place wasn’t very busy.. staff didn’t seem Welcoming at all. Food prices have gone up but quality has nose dived. Burger was like something from a burger van and fish batter tasted horrible, cheap shop bought onion rings. Chips were really nice though. The waiter threw the plates on the table and dashed off to see to another customer without even asking if our meals were okay or if we needed anything else. Felt a bit disappointed to be honest!

Una visita callejera al cisne y no será la última. . mi marido y yo comimos tarta, él comió bistec y champiñones, mientras que yo opté por una mordida de carne y patatas, nuestra hija comió bistec. Todas las comidas estaban perfectamente preparadas, ¡el pastel es increíble! ! . . el desierto era casero y delicioso. El servicio fue de primera clase, realmente me sentí bienvenido y como si nada fuera un problema. . y el edificio es maravilloso. La mejor comida de pub que Iv había tenido en muchos años.

Descubrí esta joya el año pasado (2019), pero he visitado muchas veces con la familia para disfrutar de su comida casera, deliciosa y adecuada, ¡especialmente sus infames pasteles!Tuvimos la suerte de cenar solo unos días antes del cierre de Covid en marzo de 2020 y estuvimos encantados cuando volvieron a abrir en junio para comida para llevar.Tienen un gran sistema a través de su página de Facebook para que los alimentos hechos a pedido (tartas, curry, etc.) se recojan a una hora determinada y con las medidas adecuadas de higiene y distanciamiento social. Las colas hablan por sí mismas y la comida (recalentada en casa) es de su nivel habitual.¡Gracias a todo el personal por un servicio fantástico y una comida increíble!

Wow. I booked the swan for my partners 30th birthday party. There were 40 guests in total and it couldn’t have run any smoother. The tables were set out perfectly. The food all came in tables so everyone was eating with the people they were sat with. Not 1 person had anything to complain about. Charlotte and the team were amazing! Can’t thank them enough!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a large family/friends get together! Oh and this was all on a busy Saturday night too!Fab! Thank you so much!!!!

Went to the swan for a family meal for a second time and as the first the food was fantastic and omg the chips are to die for definitely recommend it and we will be back again soon

We came here this afternoon for a family birthday. We were a large group and our table wasn’t ready, so we had to sit/ stand and wait for the people on our table to leave, which felt a little awkward and uncomfortable for us and I’m sure them too. We had emailed our order through, as requested, three days prior to our booking. Our food came out and we were missing a whole meal and two meals had mushy peas, which we hadn’t asked for. The member of staff told us we hadn’t ordered the missing meal (a hunters chicken) and read our order as he had written it. We had to go to our email and show him that we had in fact ordered two hunters chickens and not one. One was made for the teenager who was missing and brought out. Unfortunately by the time it was brought out, most of the rest of our party had almost finished their meals!Some of our party went to the bar to order desserts and the staff asked if they could have the table they’d vacated for other guests, so they were obviously busy and we began to feel we were in the way. We hurried our desserts and left, so they could reuse our table.Despite this, the pies we ordered were absolutely delicious, the chips are some of the best I have ever eaten and the curry’s were beautiful. The child’s meal of sausage and mash didn’t come with gravy, which seemed bizarre, but we had extra with all the pies, so were able to give him some of ours. I’d like to come again, we live locally and pass on our way to and from work, so it is convenient, but I don’t think it’s suitable for a large booking, especially on a Sunday, I don’t think they can cope. We will try midweek next time and definitely have a pie again!

Visitamos The Swan anoche para una comida familiar. Un par de nosotros tenía tartas que eran fabulosas como siempre. Mi marido tenía curry de faisán que elogió. Todo servido con patatas fritas caseras adecuadas. El personal era realmente encantador y hablador y no podía hacer lo suficiente por nosotros. Me alegro de que vivamos a poca distancia de este pequeño pub fabuloso.

We visited last night for a family meal. So glad we booked as it was really busy. All food was delicious and plentiful. Not a long wait and all freshly prepared. We will definitely be back. Would highly recommend.

Paré aquí para almorzar la semana pasada. Agradable ambiente acogedor al lugar. Una buena elección en el menú. Mi marido tenía la tortilla de tres quesos y tuve el pollo. Llegaron las comidas y fueron enormes. Bien preparado y con una excelente relación calidad-precio. Simplemente no pude manejar un budín. Volveremos ya que necesito probar uno de los pasteles que parecía fabuloso. Quizás un budín también.

Conocí a mi tío Les, Christine y Archie para un almuerzo de pub aquí mientras visitaba mi ciudad natal de Sheffield. . grupo de cuatro se sentó muy rápidamente un jueves al mediodía. . El menú estaba bastante lleno de opciones, especialmente porque teníamos edades que iban de 1 año a 91 años. . . Gran selección de cervezas, amargos y grandes junto con vinos, sidras y cócteles. . . la comida estaba muy caliente y bien con la pequeña espera (los pasteles fueron el factor en ese caso) pero valió la pena la espera. . . Lo único que sugeriría es que primero saquen la comida de los niños para mantener ocupada a la joven y permitir que se alimente antes que todos los adultos. . . pero estoy seguro de que si hubiéramos pensado en eso al principio, habrían atendido esa solicitud. . . porque todas las demás solicitudes se otorgaron con una sonrisa. . . Volveremos durante el próximo viaje a casa! ! !

Qué equivocado estaba yoHa pasado bastante tiempo desde que visité un pub para comer algo y me sorprendió lo buena que era la comida.Las patatas fritas estaban hechas en casa, la hamburguesa no era del tamaño de una pieza de 10 p. El ambiente es acogedor, la cerveza estaba fría, en general, realmente lo disfruté, incluso el jefe comió su comida y comentó que el pastel de su pastel era PASTELERO APROPIADO, y no un trozo de cartón.Aprobado personal / chefVe temprano ya que se llena.

Fuimos hoy para una comida. Pregunté a la joven si había una mesa para 3 adultos. Le preguntó a otra joven que estaba revisando, luego contestó el teléfono y nos ignoró. Dos personas nos sirvieron en el bar mientras aún esperábamos para ver si había una mesa. gratis, la joven salió del teléfono para mirar la sábana en contra de una mesa para nosotros y el teléfono volvió a sonar, ella respondió y nos ignoró de nuevo.Luego dijimos que no nos molestemos en ir a otro lugar.Muy decepcionado

La familia de mi esposa ama el Swan, pero creo que es bastante bueno. Me encanta caminar por los campos para unas cuantas cervezas y un natter, pero en mi opinión la comida es generalmente hogareña pero poco sofisticada. Puedes tener muchos productos locales, incluido el juego de los campos locales, pero las cosas picantes a menudo son más calientes de lo necesario sin mucha sutileza. Buena comida de confort pero ciertamente no es un pub gastronómico.

Acabo de tener una comida estupenda con mi familia en este establecimiento. El menú en este lugar es extenso y hay una tabla especial de temporada junto con ofertas especiales para el almuerzo. A la izquierda, al entrar en este pub, la sala a la izquierda, con el piso marcado, acepta perros y la sala alfombrada a la derecha es libre de mascotas. Solo pregúntele al personal muy agradable si no está seguro y quiere ser libre de mascotas. Todo el lugar es limpio y presentable y el personal es servicial y amable. Tiene un precio muy razonable y todo estaba caliente cuando llegó. Muy popular entre las 12 y las 3 de lunes a viernes para el almuerzo especial, así que no te lamentes si vas durante este tiempo y tienes que esperar. Definitivamente volvería a visitarlo y si no lo has probado, ¡pruébalo o nunca lo sabrás! !

We visit here regular and it never disappoints. Lovely, friendly, welcoming staff. An array of very tasty homemade food. Excellent and speedy service and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What more can you ask for.

Been going to the Swan for years the food is delicious especially the pies and of course the homemade chips, well stocked bar also. I tried the steak, cheese and onion pie this time as it had been recommended and it didn't disappoint. Would definitely recommend.

Just been for lunch and had to immediately write a review as I never usually bother. The food here is exceptional! We went for my Father in law's birthday, 7 of us. The bar staff were lovely, we'd booked a table but were a bit early. No problem - they were able to seat us and we enjoyed a drink (Guinness as it is St Patrick's Day!) and a chat while we leisurely chose our meals. There's an extensive choice - including specials & low cal options) but we we were there for the PIE! There was lots to choose from, all of which sounded great and between us we chose the lamb pea & mint, steak & kidney, and the cheese & vegetable (veggie) option, served with chips or mash, peas, and a little gravy boat each. All pies were delicious and everyone commented on them being the best we'd tasted. And the chips - proper perfect cooked chips! YUM! I have high expectations and am easily disappointed but not today! We all had a great lunch and highly recommend The Swan. I look forward to another visit soon!

First time, fantastic service, amazing Value and fabulous food. We enjoyed 🎏 and chips mushy peas, Apple Crumble and Custard. Liver and Onions with chips and garden peas..Pie, Chips and peas. Returning with my family.

Maybe we visited on a bad day, but I just come away from the Swan and can honestly say the food served was possibly the worse I have eaten in a very long time. My partners steak was missing from his mixed grill. The chips were cold and stale tasting. My liver was as a tough as old boots but to top it all the 'scampi' served up was just deep fried bread. There was not a piece of fish in any of the 6 'scampi' served.

I love the Swan. Have been since being a kid with my family and now take my family there. The Steak Cheddar and Onion pie sounds wrong but it's the BEST!!! home cooked chips, lovely pies and I dare say there is something for every single person in the family in the menu packed full of home cooked food.

Mis amigos / familia y yo hemos estado en The Swan en muchas ocasiones y en el pasado siempre hemos estado muy complacidos con nuestras comidas, sin embargo, en un par de ocasiones pasadas, las cosas parecen haber bajado un poco. Lo que solía poner este pub por encima de otros para la comida eran las patatas fritas caseras, pero parecían haber cambiado. Salen duros, secos y blancos y se ven y saben más a chips congelados que a los frescos. Recuerdo que este pub dice qué granja utilizaron para las papas. Parece que han cambiado de proveedor o de chef, ya que las patatas fritas no son nada agradables. Espero que los propietarios lean esta reseña y vuelvan a las preciosas fichas caseras, ya que hemos escuchado a muchos de los clientes decir lo mismo que nosotros.

Recommend to go to try the pies.... homemade, really hearty and real chips. Not to mention the gravy. You can’t go wrong !

Fui con 3 amigos el lunes. La comida salió bastante rápido. Tenía el pastel de patata y pedí un puré, pero conseguí papas fritas poco cocinadas. El pastel estaba tibio y el pastel estaba empapado. La salsa estaba frita. los peces estaban secos y fríos, nadie vino a verificar si las comidas estaban bien, así que dejamos la mayor parte de la comida y nos fuimos para no regresar

Wheelchair accessible. Can recommend the meat and potato pie. They also do light bites for the elderly. Service reasonable. Decor outdated could do with brightening up. Bar staff polite but service with a smile it was not.

Called in on spec, was very busy but did not have to wait too long for food. The food was really nice and they were able to adapt one of the meals on the menu to suit my specific needs. Old world english pub atmosphere

We visited on the 26/08/18 as a family had a variety of food from pies to jacket potatoes and deserts and it was all beautiful couldn't fault it and the staff we amazing and helpful, if I had a fault about the place is it doesn't do any fresh veg with any of their meals and only do mash or chips which isn't much good if your trying to eat healthy although they do have a low fat section, my other gripe would be I ordered coffee and they didn't have any sweetener which may sound picky but not when your diabetic and its such an easy thing to have.

We have only been twice to the Swan ,but definetly be going again the meat and potato pie is delicious plenty of filling and not thick pie crust ,proper chips ,peas and your own gravy boat ,lovely staff very welcoming ,only one thing on the downside the diets going to have to go .,Excellant value lovely staff brilliant food

Myself,husband and parents visited this place for Sunday lunch what can i say absolutely devine. Excellent meat and potato pie, excellent service and excellent value shall definitely visit again. Keep the excellence going guys,well done.

Great value and quality food as always. Quick service and great sized portions. Can't fault this place for a cheap eat. Can be busy between 6 and 7.

We often go to the Sawn for a late lunch unles the car park is full or there are no free tables.

Been a few times here and it can get a bit noisy as the pub is so small but the food is much better than most pubs. Pies are quite big and well filled and the chips are great BUT sometimes not enough though they are portion controlled. Seems strange If you go on a Thursday evening they bring out tons of free chips for quiz night so you can top your meal up from those. Real ales always on top form.

I had the farmhouse mixed grill and it was cooked perfectly and I loved it all however my dad had a mixed grill and didn’t enjoy it as it was cooked too much everyone else enjoyed their meals. Me and my mum both had desserts and they were lovely just really let down by my dads meal otherwise a perfect pub. Great home cooked chips

Called into The Swan on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed a home made pie with real home made chips. How Abby cooks these chips to perfection is beyond me, excellent tasty food and a great choice of real ales on offer at The Swan. Staff superb and service with a smile as usual in a pub full of character.

Lovely home cooked food at reasonable prices, you get a really good portion and my kids love it too. I had the steak and kidney pie with proper chips, my husband had a mixed grill which was huge and everything was cooked how he requested it, my so had a burger and my daughter had the fish and chips!

Love it here at the swan. We can walk with the dog & have lunch that is home cooked & fab. We are always made to feel welcome with our dog & children. I would highly recommend. 😍

Called in at lunchtime today. Very welcoming atmosphere and a comfortable pub. We ordered small fish and chips and were pleased we hadn't ordered the large one!! The portion sizes were generous and the food itself was hot and tasty, proper chips and lovely mushy peas, We'll definitely be calling again and will be recommending the Swan. If you're looking for a good pub to eat or drink, try this one.

Called in on 17th March 2018 has not been in for a while, food was still the excellent standards as i remembered especially the chips but the beer was cloudy probably end of the barrel but never offered a replacement and would suggest they clean the pipes as bits floating in the beer and it took the edge of what would have been a great night out eating.

This is a lovely, traditional very welcoming pub. I’m not a local as would be obvious with my southern accent. My girlfriend and I really liked this pub, chatting with the locals and being served by a great guy Mark that is obviously proud of the pub and atmosphere they create there. It’s refreshing to have home made pies, good ale, being able to hear each other talk and enjoy an traditional English pub that are slowly turning into big open plastic pubs or disappearing. If you’d like all of the above with a very reasonable price then go treat yourself. We will definitely be returning, Happy Days The Swan !

The Swan is a traditional pub that gives you a warm feeling as soon as you walk in, whether you are a regular or a new visitor. It just gets better as you look through the menu and the specials board, especially if you like your pies. There is something for everyone with a wide range of lunch time and evening options. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is Pub Grub at its best and extremely good value. When many eateries try and fail the Swan has the perfect formula. Long may they continue, we shall return!

Lovely homely pub, good portions and very tasty but I was very shocked and disappointed to find two toothpick size bones in my pie that I could have choked on. I could have forgiven this and you could say bones are to be expected in homemade pies 'if the menu had stated it, which it didn't, but was was furthermore disappointing was the half hearted apology and 10% discount that I was offered the next time we visit. Needless to say we wont be using that.

Good quality comfort food at fair prices. Cosy atmosphere and welcoming landlord. Will definitely return soon.

Visited for lunch with family. Ordered a medium glass of white wine & apple juice, £7. Menu is focused on pies, I had rabbit which was good with plenty of meat, served with mash which didn't appear freshly made. My partner had meat & potato pie which was good but came with a side of chips or mash, surely this pie should be served with seasonal veg !!! This is a country pub but the decor is dated & tired.

Visited for my mother in law’s birthday. Pies are always excellent. Chips weren’t as good as usual but they’re normally great.

It's the first time I have been here for years. I wasn't disappointed. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. All home made, large portions and such good prices. I will be back.

Myself and my family love visiting The Swan, especially as the weather gets colder! It's only small inside but it feels very cosy and is always nice and warm. The pies are absolutely delicious, as are the puddings.

Looked forward to their renowned meat & potato pies on Sunday evening, a treat from my father. Myself and my husband ordered the pies as usual, when they came both pies were stone cold in the middle! He pointed it out to the waitress who just picked them up and walked off, no apology or sorry for that we'll warm them up for you ,nothing. The pub was very busy inside and out but there is no excuse for a pie with pre-cooked meat in it not being heated through properly, either the microwaves want seeing to or they were just rushed out. This must be a health issue surely. Anyway after my father had nearly finished his meal, eating on his own, the pies were brought out again with no apology again. Yes, they were nice this time and piping hot as they should have been first time, but we were made to feel awkward for sending them back, my father had to eat on his own then sit while we had our meals, overall it spoilt the night completely. Wont be rushing back soon, as this is not the first time the pies have been served cold, hence why we always stick a fork in the middle to check the temperature before eating.

Booked a table at this quirky old style pub and received a pleasant welcome on arrival. The pub was busy, but we didn't have to wait very long for our meals which were delivered piping hot. My husband chose a steak & ale pie, there's a large selection of home made pies on offer, and I chose the 'low-fat' Italian style chicken served with pasta. We both enjoyed our orders and made room to share a delicious pudding of a chocolate honeycomb cheesecake. For the price paid we considered this pub, 'value for money' and we would return.

We have eaten at The Swan on numerous occasions and we are never disappointed. The beers and lagers are well kept, the staff friendly and efficient and the food always hot and tasty.On this occasion two of us had the cheese omelette and the other the grilled chicken. Keep up the good work.

Love this place! Food is always great and homemade. Inside is lovely and traditional. Great menu choices with starters, mains and deserts and a specials board. Super cosy and great for family meals. Would highly recommend!

Delicious homemade pies - highly recommend to steak pies. And the chips are really good!! Staff always very friendly and welcoming.

This is a small pub that we visited one afternoon. They have a good menu with what looked like some good pies. The chips are home cooked and we're tasty. I had an omelette which was cooked lovely. My partner had a mixed grill and felt that some of the food was overcooked. He still enjoyed the meal but was not happy that the meat had all been cooked well done and he asked for rare. The pub has a nice friendly atmosphere and is nice for a quick dinner.

Good homemade food . homemade pies and chip at a reasonable price.my personally favorite is the meat and potatoe pie and the steak is also very nice.gets busy so recommend booking at the weekend if you are going at peak times .big thumbs up to all the friendly staff at the swan.

Called off at the Swan for food and drinks after a long walk.Could not get a table straight away but we persevered it was very busy and the smell of their food made us wait.It was well worth waiting for good home cooked food the pies are delicious would highly recommend.The service and everything was A1 and we was allowed to take our dog in too a proper country pub serving home made food will be going back soon

Having found that our first choice was fully booked when we tried to book a table for 10 on Saturday, we tried here. What a good decision.We were warned the food could take some time to arrive as it was freshly cooked. It was worth the wait. The pies were voted as delicious, the scampi was plentiful (in contrast to most places) and my Hungarian Beef off the specials board was superb.Chips were plentiful, and home-made, not straight out of the freezer chips.Prices are very reasonable. 8 adult meals and 1 child portion came to just over £80.Oh, and the beers good too!

Had a meal at the swan in ridgeway the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent would go there again for a meal

''The swan'' at 'Ridgeway' Sheffield is quite local to us...we went along as a family party early in 2016 - enjoyed the atmosphere and food - so visited again for a third time. Once again 'The swan' meals were excellent .. all freshly cooked to your order with swift and efficient service. The pub is very well placed within Ridgeway village.. with a pleasant country pub atmosphere. All was enjoyed and we wouldn't hesitate in going along again.

Called in here one lunchtime. One of the rooms had workmen in, but we managed to find a seat, and ordered our meals and drinks.I had fish ,chips and peas, which was ok, but the fish had more batter than fish. This was followed up with apple pie and cream, which was to die for,and at a cost of £1 only! Staff are very nice and welcoming. Will be returning in the future.

Visited quite a few times and thought would review again. You cannot fault this place. The food is really good, tried quite a few things. The pies are really filling and proper homemade ones, not the poncy brewery type with a lump of puff pastry perched on top. Liver and onion casserole very tasty with chunks of liver mmmmm. Give the Swan a try, I'm certain you will go back.

Lovely meal, friendly staff, dog friendly, .... we will be back.The mixed grill really nice & they serve the best chips ever.Hubby had the pie, no complaints there.Can't wait to go back.

Family meal with 6 people, including 2 children. We all had an amazing meal and can't wait for our next visit. The menu is very traditional and has some home cooked classics on there, synonymous with area. The specials are worth a look too, theres something for everyone. We had pies, salmon, gammon and curry, all good sized portions and in particular, the rabbit pie was exceptional. The pub itself is traditional, friendly and in a picturesque location. I cannot recommend The Swan highly enough, it is excellent.

Ever been to The Swan, Ridgeway, Sheffield?, No!, then you don't know what you are missing. Whether it just to sample the real ale or fancy a meal out, believe me you won't be disappointed. This Old Coaching Inn has been a favourite of the locals for many years, long before yours truly was born. Great ale, great food and a warm welcome await at The Swan.

Been to this place numerous timss with my family really nice pub and the menu is amazing the venison is to die for this is not ur typical pub food this is good cooking. And the chips are real not those processed ones you get from most places.

The pub was not what I expected after getting details from the net. I do not expect Michelin quality from a pub but the meal I had was very poor quality. How difficult is it to serve quality beer battered cod. Mine was all batter no cod.The place itself was okay and the staff were very friendly. Would not go back again.

Love the food here. Always leave feeling full and the home made Chips are the best! They do great desserts the flap jack and custard is my favourite.

Been to the Swan on numerous occasions and never had a bad meal yet. The pies are all homemade as are the chips. Always a good choice of real ales on draft. You can also have a light bite menu. Friendly staff and atmosphere.

Went for a ride to ford. Saw this pub. Went in pleasent friendly staff. Profesional service food is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for big portions of tasty food. We enjoyed and the kids enjoyed it even the one that doesn't always eat well ate all her food. Glad we popped in we will be going again.

The food is lovely and there is always a nice atmosphere. Its a nice little traditional pub and always enjoy going there.

Traditional pub grub served up in a traditional pub. Food is homemade and delicious. Served hot and fresh. The chips are exceptional and not to me missed even though alternatives are offered. There is a specials board alongside the standard menu.

My family have been Swan customers on and off for years. We have always enjoyed the home cooked food and reasonable prices. A couple of years ago we thought it had gone downhill a bit and was ready for a bit of makeover inside, we tried other places and weren't as regular at the Swan. Over the past few months we have returned and even though the decor is exactly the same and the menu is exactly the same I have to say we are falling back in love with the Swan again! It's like putting on a pair of comfy old slippers and our meal there on Friday was delicious. Two teenagers who can be fussy chose pie and tikka masala and scrapped their plates clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as did my partner and four mains and two rounds of drinks for little over forty quid. No frozen rubbish or pinged stuff, quite clearly home cooked and the chips were delicious. We will be Swan regulars once more me thinks!

Called for evening meal after hearing recommdations from friends.Both opted for homemade pies.Really enjoyed it with home made chips. Only small pub but really busy.Try it if you are in the area.

Five of us arrived on a busy Friday early evening for tea as my son wanted something not from a restaurant chain for his birthday tea. We had eaten here about five years ago and knew then it was good so decided to try again. The place was heaving but the lady behind the bar (Carol) was very welcoming and managed to find us a table. We sat and had a drink in one bar whilst we waited for the table and ordered the food so that once we were seated the food would be just about ready. All five ordered different dishes and each one was tasty, well cooked, well presented and more over; plenty of it. Two drinks each and a main course came to £64 and was worth every penny. Everyone working there was pleasant and friendly, would recommend a trip.
