It's small and cosy. Very local orientated. It's not what it was, High days and holidays if theyre lucky, they've left the building.....

This is a lovely pub but you pay well over the odds for your drinks compared to other local pubs you will pay over a £1 more per pint. This I wouldn't mind but the last couple of times I have been the pub has been ice cold with no heating also opening hours are very restricted and very little option on food

As others have mentioned there is no signage for this place so we did wonder if we’d even reached the right venue. On arrival we appeared to have arrived at the same time as the family that own this venue. A dog was allowed to run around in the restaurant, as people helped themselves to drinks from behind the bar, all very odd. The Sunday lunch was ok, beef a little fatty for our liking with some really tough gristle running through it, but the pork and chicken were nice enough. Although for £35 a head chicken seemed like a cheap cop out to bulk plates up. The veg was good and varied. Desserts were poor, I’m pretty sure my brownie was a popular brand bought from a supermarket and the meringue in the Eton mess also appeared to have been bought in. It was hard to justify the £35 a head. All in all food was ok, I doubt we’ll be rushing back but you can’t please everyone.

Disappointing Dining Experience at The Peacock At Owler Bar Not Worth the Hype Yesterday, my partner and I visited this restaurant, drawn by its charming location and inviting pub-style interior that initially set a promising tone. The menu was extensive, featuring creatively named dishes accompanied by prices that suggested a high-quality dining experience. However, our anticipation quickly turned to disappointment. For starters, I ordered the scallops priced at £13.95, expecting a generous portion. To my surprise, the dish consisted of just two scallops and a single prawn in sauce—a meagre serving that fell short of expectations. Moving on to the mains, I chose a dish described as 'prawns with noodles.' What arrived was essentially a bowl of noodles with six prawns—again, not aligning with the menu's description. My boyfriend opted for the Sunday roast, which was equally underwhelming. The plate featured one carrot, one parsnip, and roast potatoes that were poorly prepared. The overall presentation and quality did not justify the price point. Adding to our concerns, nearby diners accompanied by a dog were vocally dissatisfied with their meals. We overheard them complaining about undercooked chicken, which is a serious food safety issue. In summary, the quality and portion sizes of the food did not match the premium pricing. The experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend this establishment to others.
