The best restaurants in Ashbourne South Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

I used to like this place and used over other local establishments in the area. I ordered a bacon baguette on this occasion to drive home 8 miles and eat my sandwich to find half way through eating there was chicken inside it... bonus if you like chicken... but myself can’t stand it and makes me ill eating it. So we rang up stating of what happened and no real offer for money back or anything. So for people who have allergies with white meat... beware as the woman stated “we cook all meat in one pan” won’t be back again... shocking.

Random / unplanned visit while passing through. Lovely little coffee shop with friendly staff, lovely coffee and very nice food (I only had a pain au chocolate which was warmed up - which is something chain coffee shops will hardly ever propose / do). Great job and good luck (not that you need it - you’re smashing it!)

Popped in for a quick coffee with our dog we ended up with a baked potato and tuna and a panini and the whole experience was a good one clean tidy friendly, thank you everyone.

Perfect place for families. Staff very friendly. My kids really enjoyed painting their creations. It was good value too and kept my children busy on a rainy day. Would definitely recommend. The gift shop is beautiful too. 5 stars

Food was very nice as were staff, could get alcoholic drinks across the road as not served there.

No one answers the phone, they don't send the delivery orders and if you do go in they're rude. Reading replies from subway on other reviews they always ask for you to call the store, no one picks up

I ordered a pizza from Dalo about 3 weeks ago and it came raw. So I complained and got my money back. Just went to order another one to give them the benefit of the doubt and to treat myself and my children and I got a phone call from them saying ‘my boss has said we’re not doing deliveries to your address anymore’! Seems they can’t take criticism very well.

The cakes looked so good from the window. Went in and asked for cornflake slice and a frangipani. The young man didn’t listen to me because when I got home there was no cornflakes slice. So disappointed.

We called for coffee and scones. A group of 4 ladies. The coffee was great but the demeanour and attitude of one of the ladies was dreadful. I don’t understand why folk who really don’t like people would choose to work in hospitality.

Decent fish and chips. Popped in last night on my way past and had mini fish and chips £7.50. Nice and hot and quick service too.

Typical english breakfast, decent quality and reasonably priced- clean cafe but busy at the time We went so speed of service was not the fastest

I have used this place for years. The guys are attentive, friendly and willing. The food is fantastic the best curry and kebab you can get locally.

Gorgeous food and a great choice on the kids' menu! Everything tasted really fresh and great quality ingredients. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. We even left my sons water bottle behind, and they are keeping it to one side for when we return! 😆🙈
