I found the whole experience at this cafe very disappointing...very bad and rude service. It took almost an hour to get our mushrooms on toast! The place was not over busy either. We had to wait to be seated and then not even informed that we had to go up and order our own food...to then be told rudely that we were told to go up ourselves. We were told that full English breakfast was over at 11.30 but then another customer came in later than us and was served a full English! I asked them why this was and I was told it was one of the staff members husband...outrageous!

Random / unplanned visit while passing through. Lovely little coffee shop with friendly staff, lovely coffee and very nice food (I only had a pain au chocolate which was warmed up - which is something chain coffee shops will hardly ever propose / do). Great job and good luck (not that you need it - you’re smashing it!)

I had the most lovely birthday afternoon tea with my Mum & sister in Ashbourne as a halfway point between Macclesfield & Derby. The café is beautifully decorated, the staff are incredibly helpful & friendly, & the food is great, with delicious sandwiches & homemade cakes & scones! I would definitely recommend & will absolutely be visiting again!

Stopped here to grab some breakfast and it was a lovely experience. The cafe was well decorated and cozy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of breakfast options from various toasts to waffles. The coffee was top notch as well and the food tasted as good as it looks. Would recommend trying the waffles with bacon. Will definitely visit again when possible. Free street parking available up to an hour.

My wife and I had a lovely lunch at The Little Shed during a holiday to the Peak District. We shared the ploughman’s platter, which was very generous and beautifully presented. Everything on the board was yummy, especially the Black Bomber cheese, pork pie and chutney. The soft drinks were also very nice, and service was efficient. Highly recommended.

I visited the cafe with my son and when my food arrived I realised they had put bacon in my toastie. I made a member of staff aware of this and she said they would change it. She later came over to my table and told me that they usually would charge customers again, and I stated well I didn't order this. Bacon would never roll out my mouth because I don't eat it. I thought that was extremely rude! My toddler had finished and my toastie hadn't arrived, I got ready to leave and told them not to worry about replacing it. They insisted I took in a take away box which i just chucked. Little tip, make sure they repeat your order or you'll be paying twice! We won't be returning which is a shame!

Amazing find! First visit to The Little Shed at the weekend - it won’t be our last! It was extremely busy and the atmosphere was great. Staff were welcoming and helpful. I have a food intolerance and the manager kindly spent time advising me with regard to what dishes were suitable for me. She even brought out a trolley full of toys and colouring pages to keep my little boy entertained! Best coffee we’ve had for a while and the food was absolutely delicious with generous portions too. Can’t wait to come back to try their Afternoon Tea which looked amazing! Thank you The Little Shed!

My partner and I popped into the café on Wednesday, and I just had to share how great our experience was! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the cozy vibe and festive decorations that totally got us in the holiday spirit. The two young ladies, Jamie and Imogen, were amazing at handling the busy café. Even with the hustle and bustle, they took the time to patiently answer all my questions and made sure we were well taken care of. Their friendly smiles and warm attitudes really added to the welcoming atmosphere of the place. Our food and drinks came out quickly, and I have to say, that coffee is hands down the best I've ever had! It paired perfectly with the delicious food we enjoyed. All in all, I’m definitely going to be back!

We booked an afternoon tea here and really enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive, thoughtful and friendly. We were asked about dietary requirements on booking in advance on the phone and the staff were already up to speed having read the booking notes on our arrival, immediately running though the menu highlighting what was suitable for a member of our party (ordering off the main menu) who had a nut allergy. Dog's are not allowed inside but are welcome outside. The afternoon tea was delicious with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. We ended up taking a few of the cakes home!

Disappointed. Short staffed. We waited 20 minutes to be seated - staff ignored us for that whole duration waiting by the “wait to be seated sign”, waited another 20 minutes for a glass of orange juice, then a further 18 minutes for my oats and fruit bowl. Almost an hour to get a seat and an orange juice in total without food included. Large amount of tables were covered in dirty plates. The menus are a mess and need replacing and the signage for the toilets is nonexistent. I’d of given it 1 star but the food bumped it up to 2.

Afternoon tea at The Little Shed in Ashbourne. Establishment and Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Oh my goodness, what an adorable bijou establishment. Level of Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s a cafe not a 5 star hotel, so of course you take that into consideration. One of our servers asked if it was a special occasion today and then asked if she could take a photo of us, which I thought was very nice. The only little thing was it would have been nice if someone stopped at the table to check if we needed anything, but they didn’t which meant I had to leave the table to get a clean plate. They very kindly brought over the clean plates but the dirty plates were not taken away so we simply placed them onto the table next to us. Little chat with us again as we paid, lovely friendly staff. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let’s start with the sandwiches. Very fresh and nice tasty fillings, they were on the wholesome side, rather than dainty, which went down very well with my husband. I did feel the scones let down the afternoon tea slightly. Not really what I think of as a scone, they were on the flat side and a very usual texture, didn’t love these at all. The cakes were nice, but way, way, way too sweet for me and I’m usually a huge sugar fan! Tea and Tea Ware ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Firstly the tea was loose leaf which was a lovely bonus, unfortunately I forgot to ask what brand they used. The Earl grey was a little on the mild side but that may make it more suitable for the masses. The tea ware wasn’t made of china but it was very pretty. Value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ At £19.95 the afternoon tea for a cafe was what you would expect to pay in this area especially considering the amount of local establishments offering an afternoon tea. The only negative I thought was how it was a minimum of 2 people. Such a shame for all those single diners out there. Vegan afternoon tea available. Overall Score ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Selection of food is good but i was served mouldy toast. When I complained, I was informed by staff that the chef had said 'the bread is in date and shouldn't be mouldy.' It was. Really poor. I am updating this review after comment made by owner: we were certainly NOT offered a full refund nor complimentary drinks after we reported the mould on the bread. I do, however, appreciate your apology as this seems to be an isolated issue and are happy you are making measures to prevent this from happening again.

I can't praise The Little Shed enough for how great my experience there was today. I went in with my 7 year old daughter and my one year old son and as anybody with young children know, it can be quite stressful to eat out. Not in this case. The staff went above and beyond. Making sure I had a space for my pushchair, keeping my children entertained, providing colouring, blocks and toys for them to play with whilst they waited. They were so attentive to their needs, making my visit so enjoyable and stress free. The food was amazing also! So tasty. I can't recommend enough!

We have just eaten lunch at this delightful little place. Very busy but able to squeeze us in. The lovely waitress explained that there was a wait for food, which was fine fir us. Fabulous menu, with lots of choices of goid and drinks. The first place that I've had the choice of four different types of Chai Latte 😊 Our food was delicious, I chose the Lebanese flatbread with hallumi, absolutely lovely. My hubby had a wiltshire ham, mushroom, onion and cheese toasty. He said it was great. We didn't have cakes or desserts, but they did look delicious and fresh. Loved that there was a water station where you can help yourself to fresh, cool, drinking water. The decor is beautiful, seating good, clean, and spacious restrooms too. We would definitely recommend and return when in Ashbourne again. Well done, to The Little Shed 👏

We were told there would be quite a wait, but didn't really feel much of a wait, considering the amount of people. The bacon/sausage sandwiches were very high quality, the coffee was top-notch and the service friendly and attentive. Couldn't fault it and I took with me a piece of Snickers Brownie for later 😉

As others have said its a very pleasant place, easy on the eye and food is good, if a little meaty (couldn't there be one standard vegan item on the menu?). The service though is very variable. It often seems understaffed both in numbers and experience/common sense. We had lunch there yesterday and were there getting on for two hours which I think is inexcusable (although no-one apologised). A young presumably inexperienced waitress who got things wrong, was slow and lacking in common sense. Its certainly not cheap - how about investing in staff?

Absolutely loved our evening here. The staff were friendly and helpful and brought a highchair to us for our baby. It's really kid friendly and the food was top notch and absolutely gorgeous. I'd say better than some high end restaurants. You've definitely got a returning customer after tonight. Thank you so much to all the staff. This is also a dog friendly pub with an area where no dogs are allowed. I think this is a fantastic idea whilst inclusive for everyone.
