Lovely place, with a nice selection of teas and a great BLT.

Great brunch, easy to book online, food was well organised for our group of 12 and served all at once.

Beautiful interior and plenty of seating. We pre booked for 4 afternoon teas. Lovely sandwiches and cakes and great value for money. Staff really friendly too. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Pleasant dining experience with the wife. The place was full, but not too crowded. Service was quick and the food lovely.

Lovely space to have a warm welcome, good service and great food. Beautifully decorated space , tea leaves in a beautiful teapot and teacups... Food was excellent and reasonable price. Will come back here again soon.

My partner and me had the afternoon tea for two ,it was a Christmas gift that we have just got round to using , it is also the first time we have been to the little shed , the sandwiches were mouth watering as were the selection of little cakes ,our table was already set up for us when we arrived ,asi had booked two days before ,i loved the interior and the seating was really good ,lovely staff ,very obliging ,we will be happy to go back 😊

Fabulous eatery in Ashbourne. Food was superb and service was quick.

I was a little disappointed with my visit here. We had quite a long wait to be seated. We ordered 3 drinks and 2 sandwiches. I was asked if I wanted any sauce on my sandwich, and I asked for ketchup. 4 drinks were delivered to our table and there was no ketchup with/on my sandwich. The 4th drink was taken back and we were given a refund. The food was marvellous but a little pricey.

Found as a surprise passing through Ashbourne and what a great choice. Really friendly and welcoming, super tasty food and good coffee in a lovely modern, clean and tasteful atmosphere. I'm sure we'll be back for another lunch the next time we visit Ashbourne.

As others have said its a very pleasant place, easy on the eye and food is good, if a little meaty (couldn't there be one standard vegan item on the menu?). The service though is very variable. It often seems understaffed both in numbers and experience/common sense. We had lunch there yesterday and were there getting on for two hours which I think is inexcusable (although no-one apologised). A young presumably inexperienced waitress who got things wrong, was slow and lacking in common sense. Its certainly not cheap - how about investing in staff?

Arguably, one of the best sausage sandwiches I’ve had for a while. Bacon & egg also terrific, as is the coffee to go with it. Full English on the neighbouring table looked great too. Lovely little cafe in the heart of town - highly recommended.

Great place for coffee and lunch

I enjoyed a lovely late lunch for one here recently and had a delicious bacon sandwich. The food was very tasty, and the service was friendly and efficient. It is a lovely coffee shop with a charming interior, tasty food, and a relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely dine here again.

Terrible - rude and unwelcoming. Went in to get a coffee after a meeting in town having bees persuaded by my wife to ‘support a local business’ rather than using a Starbucks or Costa. Wish I hadn’t … rude unsmiling staff member said they were full when clearly they had plenty of tables. Didn’t offer a take out. In all honestly, best avoided.

The blueberry scones are soo good im honestly still dreaming about them the service is really fast and everyone was very polite it was giving very relaxed lofi coffee vibes and reasonably priced in my opinion i'd definitely go again

Great place with lovely home made cakes and pastries. Needed refreshments just before 4pm and so many other places closed. Made to feel very welcome. Great tasting hot chocolate.

The service was to slow. The soup was cold filled with clumps of vegetables. Just not very good.

Really nice coffee and great food (had the smashed avocado in toast). A great place for breakfast - very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Well worth a visit! There’s not loads of choices for veggies/vegans, but that could easily be improved with swapping out full English staples for veggie alternatives.

Very nice, sandwiches and scones were delicious, couldn't manage to eat the cakes but they gave me a box to put them in and I'm sure they will be delicious to. Staff were lovely very pleasant. Would definitely recommend it👋

We stumbled across The Little Shed while staying in the area. We fancied a lovely place to have brunch and so glad we visited. The atmosphere is so lovely, with a lovely tearoom feel but cosy and stylish. The staff were all very nice and friendly. The food was delicious, we had the breakfast waffles. When looking around at what others had ordered the afternoon the teas served did look good. Seemed like a popular place and recommended booking as it seemed we were lucky to get a walk-in.

Quaint little cafe with a limited menu. What’s there is lovely and the venue is quite a relaxing place, well decorated and service was good. But the menu was a bit small when we visited at the weekend. Other than that it’s worth a detour.

You park roadside on Compton Street at 09.36 on Wednesday 31/08/2022, noting it's limited to an hour as there is a traffic warden nearby, about 40 yards from the Little Sheds Door. You enter by 9.40 and see it is less than 1/4 full with only 3 tables of guests, 2 couples and a large family of five. There is however a queue of two other couples waiting to be seated which takes a further five minutes, but after looking at the menu you place an order for 2 cappucinos. a breakfast waffle and a bacon and sausage sandwich. They do mention there may be a short delay, but accept payment at 09.48 by Card (Monzo tell you this instantly on your phone) You then wait patiently and come to gradually realize service is indeed very very slow. Your coffees arrive at 10. Acceptable, given they did warn you. Over the next half hour two other couples ask about the delay in their food orders. Four other couples have by then arrived and some are served cakes and drinks on a similar time frame, some drinks only. At 10.36 after almost 50 minutes you are obliged to ask about your simple food order and are told "it has been missplaced/lost" so you cancel your food order, as a parking ticket is looming. The waitress is intent on trying to justify the delay by saying everyone is being dealt with in order, and it's not her fault they are understaffed and we are 'making her feel uncomfortable' by insisting on a partial refund (which we eventually got at 10.46), and by having no desire to listen to her lengthy excuse. We certainly didn't want a parking fine as well! The food we ordered is quick to prepare and it is completely wrong for staff to blame being "busy" when a restaurant is less than a third full. Management clearly needs to look at their kitchen staffing levels, training and the efficiency of service delivery. AN HOURS WAIT is far too long for a simple breakfast......Flexibility by front of house staff to help in the kitchen would have at least assisted in reducing the delays being experienced by all customers that morning.

Real tea!! The first time I've had a pot of real tea served with a China cup and a tea strainer in years!. Lovely cakes and very good cheese scone. A bit pricey but then you expect that in a touristy Derbyshire Town.

An unexpected find on a day out. A lovely building and well planned out. Elegantly decorated although chairs start to get uncomfortable after a while. We had drinks and breakfast. We'll catered for different allergies/vegan etc food was excellent and beautifully presented. Slightly above average price but fell in line with other venues nearby. Exceptionally clean. Staff all very polite and helpful. Definitely going again in the future

Lovely coffee shop not far from Ashbourne centre. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We got in the coffee shop at 3.55 pm without knowing it was closing at 4 pm but they still let us have coffee and cakes... and it was really worth it 😀😀😀

Lovely place inside but poorly run with incredibly slow service 3/4 hour for coffee and watery mushroom soup, bacon sandwich had one 1/2 slices in but £7 not great value . Very expensive but very poor for what it was - won’t be returning.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this place is amazing. We happened to walk past and just wanted a quick snack and a coffee. We ordered sandwiches and almost laughed when we saw them - absolutely huge and so nicely presented. The staff are friendly and appear to enjoy their work. What a fantastic little place. We're coming again in the week for breakfast.

I visited The Little Shed in Ashbourne on Saturday, with my teenage great-niece. We had a superb time! We had the afternoon tea, one regular and one vegan. The staff had gone the extra mile with my vegan one and were very helpful. I highly recommend a visit!

Booked a table for somewhere to stop for lunch on our way home from holiday based on the reviews and photos. We weren't disappointed! The chicken salad was very tasty and the 3 cheese toastie was certainly cheesy!

Lovely good sized cafe with a relaxed, warm atmosphere, serving some of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. EVER. Impressive selection even at the end of the day, we tried 4 different cakes and every one blew our minds. Recommend the white chocolate cherry cake. Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff happy to go above and beyond. Would highly recommend a visit.

This new cafe is going to be popular after lockdown, people were booking seats to sit outside even now. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food and deserts are delightful. They even have a good vegetarian menu. One of our favourite places to eat in Ashbourne now, love it.

Brilliant. Friendly staff, leaf tea which is a treat and the food was really really tasty, and fresh cooked to order so well worth the wait.

Loved it. The staff were lovely and the Afternoon Tea was wonderful. Travelled for 2 hours to visit this tea room, worth every mile!
