The Picnic Basket in Derbyshire Dales

I used to like this place and used over other local establishments in the area. I ordered a bacon baguette on this occasion to drive home 8 miles and eat my sandwich to find half way through eating there was chicken inside it... bonus if you like chicken... but myself can’t stand it and makes me ill eating it. So we rang up stating of what happened and no real offer for money back or anything. So for people who have allergies with white meat... beware as the woman stated “we cook all meat in one pan” won’t be back again... shocking.

During our 2 weeks in the UK we had the best lunch at this nice place. Fresh and delicious! Good portions and great prices. What a perfect place for a lunch. When service is good and the food is nice we hand out a little gift (a miniature pair of Dutch wooden shoes). You guys really earned them!

The cobs and pasta boxes are amazing, the large can keep you going all day! Good pricing, people and great tasty food!

This is a great little place that is always busy! Reasonably priced and great sized portions I always go for a pasta mix and I’ve never had a bad one yet!

For quality freshly made sandwiches this is well worth a visit. You will not find better value breakfast cobs

Pop in at least once a week, mega reasonable price and perfect stop for a quick lunch option. Definetly advise pre ordering during peak hours but that’s pretty obvious.
