The best restaurants in England

"Sorry, we've none left" seemed to be the only response to our order to the waiter. The so-called prawn cocktail was bordering on inedible. Watery prawns, bland Marie Rose sauce and served with supermarket brown bread. The pie to follow was highly mediocre at best, served with completely overcooked tasteless watery vegetables. I can't recommend this place and is probably the most disappointing meal I've ever had in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Great cafe. First time i visited for a birthday treat. The food offering was great! Prepared fresh and the sausages are the best in beverley. Team friendly and looked after us well. Has a lovely peaceful atmosphere tucked away yet right in the heart of the town

Fantastic king prawn and linguine. Amazing porcini and tomato spaghetti. Tiramisu was very good. Lovely, warm and friendly welcome and knowledgeable about the food served. Excellent chef.

Fabulous quick delivery service. Food was hot and excellent quality. Used two methods to order now1. direct phoning, great 2. ordered via app, easy to navigate kept very well informed

We’ve been twice to eat in and just ordered for the first time for delivery. Every time our food was delicious, great sauces , good portions . Our favourite are pork burritos and pork loaded nachos, my only complaint will be cheese I think when we ordered for delivery our cheese wasn’t Mexican cheese just cheddar, but still food was great!

My husband and I were very well received. The service, the staff, the atmosphere...everything was a 10. We will definitely be back! A big hug, Rose and John.

Had the cinnamon roll (£3) and Tajine roll (£4.50) both are vegan and taste amazing! There is indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect in sunny weather.

Good atmosphere, food and good selection of drinks. Hidden gem. Welcoming and both times I’ve been in, great at accommodating dairy free guest.

Very poor both in quality and cleanliness front of shop very dirty and unkempt lots of staff all with well manicured nails Botox lips more interested in how they look rather than focusing on quality and presentation. Chips were soggy and mashed up , fish was eatable,peas were tasteless and cold and curry was ok . All in all I would not go there again and would not recommend this shop

Drove up from Southampton to visit our 31st Poppins Restaurant. Had a super lunch here well worth the travel.

A fabulous place to lunch, great value, truly authentic when they can create off menu requests without any fuss! Great staff, lovely relaxed cafe style atmosphere. Book for dinner, turn up for lunch. Outstanding pasta

Staff are always so welcoming and serve great food. We now go on a weekly basis with our newborn baby and (sometimes) puppy. If you've never been before, make sure you get a (not so typical) dessert. A very large range, and they are to die for! Lovely outdoor space too if the weather is nice enough to go out there. Would highly recommend.
