The Willows Café in Huntingdonshire

Travelling from Newcastle upon Tyne to Kent and wanted to avoid services. Found Willow by chance and very happy we stopped there for lunch. Extremely good selection of cakes and savoury snacks. Will definitely call in again on our next trip to Kent.

My daughter and I had a rare day of 'just the 2 of us' and popped in for an afternoon treat. Despite being the end of the day there was a mind boggling choice of delicious temptations. We settled for a caramel cheesecake and a bakewell tart. Very generous sized cakes. There was even a choice of chairs to to sit in, in the beautifully decorated café. The staff could not have been friendlier nor more patient while waiting for us to make food decisions! The cakes were amazing, totally delicious! We will definitely be back, would have liked to give 6 stars.

Went to this delightful coffee shop this morning with my wife, toddler, mother and brother. We went on a whim as we wanted an independent coffee shop near to where we lived. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile and an amazing array of cakes, all of which are made in house. The coffee was high quality too and we sat in the beautiful garden at the back. The owners were so lovely and have created something really special. We'll definitely be back again!

Such a lovely place to get some lunch! The range of brownies, cakes, scones, cheesecakes, rocky roads, and more cakes and more cakes is insane! The outdoor area for the kids is so nice for them to play in whilst we can sit and enjoy the garden.

We always order scones to takeaway with cream and jam pots and they never disappoint. We pre order ahead of time and everythings ready to go! With a quick zap in the microwave they are warm and fresh and just melt in your mouth. £5 for scone jam and cream is amazing. Thank you for always being so agreeable! We always look forward to another occassion to have them :)

Just wonderful. Very hardworking people doing a great job. Having been in yesterday when another “gentleman” was “having a bad day”, I feel that I must redress the balance. If you feel so entitled that everything and everyone is subservient to you then The Willows probably isn’t for you. Speaking to staff in such a way simply makes you the fool, I somehow doubt it’s the first (or last) time that your wife has or will had to apologise for such behaviour. If you appreciate hard working people creating amazing fresh produce go and enjoy it.

The most adorable local cafe that always has the best coffee and baked goods. I’m so glad this small business thrived after lockdown! Everything is handmade and the ladies working there are always so lovely.

Food is OK but atmosphere and service appalling. Reserved a table and it was 2 hours in total before we received full order, coffee coming in about 80 minutes. Staff serve take out customers first and we just got neglected. Absolutely appalling service and rude staff when mentioned. Avoid.

My Wednesdays would not be the same without my addictive necessity of a visit to The Willows. The savouries are superb the cakes are considerably oversized and scrumptious and all is home made. The owners, Claire and Megan are wonderful people, friendly, considerate and accommodating and work non stop. For me personally there is not a better cafe in the PE post code area and probably much wider. If you have not tried their homemade fayre, add it to your list, check the opening times to avoid disappointment but if you do go at the wrong time, go back. Really nice cakes and milkshakes & atmosphere but unfortunately the coffee isn’t good I don’t know why but can’t taste any coffee in them maybe the beans are very weak, I’ve given the coffees a couple of chances but sadly won’t be going just for the cakes, if the coffee was just as good I would be buying often. Please improve coffee

It's a great place for tea and cake, or a very reasonably-priced meal or snack. 2023 Edit. Still a lovely and friendly place, with very tempting cakes, but with limited hours and menu. Check times before you go.

The nicest and coziest family-run cafe in the area with homebaked goods.

We had a lovely lunch pot of tea and savoury pesto, mozzarella and tomato pastry.

A nice little cafe in Brampton High Street, passed by chance and decided to come in for a cuppa with my elderly Mum. It was a bit chilly for her with the doors open at first, but the young lady serving us was very kind and closed them. The cakes, hard to choose as they looked so scrumptious, but we ended up sharing one enormous pecan and chocolate tray bake between us - it was amazing! The coffee was great too. Its a busy place with only two people running it, and understandably a lot of people coming in to buy food to go. Will definitely call in and buy more if I'm in the area again.

Meeting up with a friend halfway between us and not wanting to go to the services, I found this coffee shop through Google maps and we decided to give it a try. So very glad we did! It’s is beautifully decorated, not too kitsch or cutesie but definitely feminine. We had the rocky road brownie and a rhubarb fool tart, two teas and then two cold drinks. The food was delicious. The teas came in a pot with a mini bottle of milk each - and just the right amount for two and a bit cups. There is seating inside, on the decking at the front, and a garden behind (which we didn’t visit). It’s wheelchair accessible but a standard sized loo so not accessible in that respect. We’ll be back 😊 Almost forgot to mention the home-made dog biscuits! I didn’t have my dogs with me but took them each a biscuit home, which were demolished promptly!

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea, a wonderful assortment of sandwiches, savouries and cakes, I would say it's the best afternoon tea we have ever had, attentive staff and lovely atmosphere.

This is one of the nicest cafés I've been to. The service is great and the staff are lovely. The cakes and the drinks here are the best part though. There's always a great selection available, and there are so many different things to try. The Willows is also dog friendly which is a bonus for us.

First ever visit to this delightful, quaint tearoom. A beautiful place with quirk and individuality, greeted and looked after by the lovely ladies, who, created my delicious thick shake to perfection! The cakes were amazing, fresh and, lovingly displayed - be careful: you will definitely want to try one of everything. Well worth a visit or two

Chilli Jam sausage roll simply delicious

Lovely little spot for what it is, but was left disappointed when my partner booked us a table for lunch, only to find on arrival that they changed the menu from how he said it used to be. You used to be able to get a proper, hearty lunch with chips etc here, but now you can't? I mean, you can get a pasty, sausage roll, sandwiches, a bit of quice etc... But not a full on lunch. Just light bites. Their milkshakes are really nice, and though I didn't try any of their desserts, I wish I had because they looked amazing. I would return here, just not if I'm properly hungry. Really wish they hadn't changed that.

Decided to book a table for three after visiting last year and enjoying a hot cooked meal however this time I looked at the menu whilst enjoying a yummy milkshake to discover they no longer serve cooked meals and now only serve cakes sausage rolls etc, I feel this is a huge mistake for the business because last time I visited in October not the warmest time of the year it was fully booked and rammed with customers ( speaks volumes) I noticed there is a butchers opposite that seemed to sell a selection of sandwiches sausage rolls etc and this was sooo busy with customers coming and going, I feel Willows cafe offering hot food was giving something their competitors wasn’t but now I feel will struggle, I hope they see this change as an mistake and go back to serving hot Meals, we left and instead visited the Black bull up the road and had a lovely meal. Please folks bring back your hot meals so we can visit you again.

Lovely dog friendly tea room! We popped in with our two dogs on Coronation weekend and grabbed a scone and some savoury bites; the caramelised onion sausage roll was absolutely incredible. Took some tray bakes home with us for later as we were stuffed. They were glorious. Customer service was fab, will definitely be back.

What a lovely little find this was. We stumbled across it when travelling from Yorkshire to Suffolk and ended up spending £40 on breakfast, takeaway sausage rolls and cakes. The coffee was exceptional and the home made produce was great. Would definitely recommend.

My colleague and I called in for coffee and cake yesterday and I had the most delicious chocolate cheesecake along with a really well made, tasty mocha. It all looked so delicious, we nearly got one of their specially made dog biscuits! A really nice café with a fabulous choice of food. We will definitely be calling again (and again!) in our travels around the country. Many thanks for a lovely welcome and great food.

We sat in the garden on a hot summers day. Fortunately plenty of shade was available in the pleasant garden. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very fresh, tasty and healthy. A little gem of a cafe in Brampton.

Lovely café garden and indoor, food is delicious, small play area for kids and nice staff. We had good afternoon. Parking might be hard to find.

Great food, drinks and atmosphere

Popped in for the first time today with Ruby and Max. We had some savory lunch, followed by some delicious cake (although we took that away). Fantastic people serving, very attentive. Lunch was perfect, I had the chicken and sweetcorn sandwiches with some chips. The children's menu was perfect for my two. Will certainly visit again and recommend 😊

OMG...This is the best cafe in the area..in fact in the UK!! The food is the best ever, like manna from the gods, the mains are awesome, the full english breakfast is definitely full, the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup...oh what can i say ...pure heaven in a mouthful and the desserts, the fudge tart, the cheesecakes.....oh my god they are to die for.....The service is absolutely superb, really first class, the girls are always pleased to see us. We go almost every Saturday if we can and the we get the absolute best dining and service experience by far 😆. I have taken numerous family members here, including the grandchildren and they have always been treated well and have always enjoyed themselves. so much so that everytime they visit they always want to go to "The Cafe with the yummy food and the smiley ladies" . We've had a couple of birthday parties here too, even had a cake made (which was unbelievably yummy). Would give 10 stars if I could. Absolutely adore The Willows and everyone who works there ❤️❤️. So yes would definitely recommend to everyone.

We just discovered Willows after moving nearby. My partner booked the retro pod for a birthday lunch. Service and food great. Some amazing cakes on offer. We went malteser cake & Double Decker cake. Have been back with kids as a nice play area in the garden for them. Highly recommended. Support local 👍

Just had the most delicious ploughman's for lunch with lovely coffee and took some cake away for later. We were in the area looking at houses and stopped on the off chance .We will be back again, to look at more houses and eat more cake . Thank you very much. A little gem of a cafe.

Absolutely shocking. Booked a table for a birthday tea and despite having my number, they waited for me to call to confirm final numbers before telling me they didn't want my booking, we wouldn't make them enough money and they didn't want us taking up so much space in the cafe. Seriously, that was the reason. No apology, just sorry for you your birthday tea is cancelled 18 hours before. Appalling. Will never ever deal with them again and will warn anyone who asked to steer clear.

Went In for afternoon lunch with my wheelchair bound nan and partner. Staff are absolutely fantastic (the girl who saved me some fudge tart is brilliant!) The food is fantastic. Little bit tight for space but it's cozy! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get some take away cake or some great lunch!

Had a lovely Strawberry Tart today for a takeaway pudding, after a yummy Jacket Potato with chilli and cheese. The outside seating area is also ready nice and well thought out with an area for children to play

Great food and very friendly staff. It feels so 'normal' to sit in a pretty garden , eat and socialise once again. Social distancing of course.

We work on the building site round the corner in brampton park and come here regularly. The food and service is second to none. Really good quality produce used at a very fair price and allways ready for the time we ask to collect. Thank you 😊

We had such lovely service here, we were quite a large group and we turned up close to the end of lunch visiting hours, they couldn't have done anymore however to make us feel welcome, the food was served really quickly, was super yummy and the price was extremely reasonable and all served with a smile. I visited this cafe in Sept when visiting family, i took my 90 year old dad out for lunch and thought we would check this place out. So glad we did the service was excellent from the time we arrived the lady kindly held the doors open as my dad was in a wheelchair, such a shame this place doesn't have a ramp to make it more accessible, maybe something the business may adopt to have in the future, as a majority of the villagers are elderly. I know the Brampton Methodist Church have one, when we visited back in October 2018, we was the first ones to use it. We settled in and decided to have a cream tea as sadly they had no carrot cake(i've been told its the best), the lady even made sure my hubby had Blackcurrant jam as he is allergic to Strawberries. I would definitely recommend this place and cannot wait to visit again next time i come to Brampton.

Well run independent café in the heart of the village. Coffee very good and meals are made on site and not bought in. Enjoyed our visit and will use again rather than use one of the coffee shop chains. Recommended.

Clean and well run cafe. Pleasant staff and clean toilet. There are some strange 1* Google reviews about Willows Cafe and not being able to eat the breakfast indoors on a plate. On entering the cafe for the first time today there was a gentleman tucking into his breakfast on a substantial sized plate and lovely it looked too. We had two cappuccinos and two slices of cake. The coffee was served in quite big cups, was hot and delicious. The cakes too were scrumptious and a generous slice. We had the carrot cake and the coffee cake. Total bill just over £11- a bit steep but very good quality cake and coffee. Probably a monthly treat for us rather than a weekly one.

Excellent food and great for a chilled cuppa

This cafe is lovely, I have read through the reviews & I agree strongly with the positive comments. The food is lovely, top quality not “cheap food” that these two reviews said, bit suspicious that the two seem to be so alike... however the cafe is top quality & definitely worth a visit. I also know that the ownership hasn’t changed for the past 3 years. Also why put such nasty comments online why not say it to the staff or the owner...

Summer 2017 this was a great cafe, since then food has gone downhill (all cheap resources) I think it’s under new ownership or something it’s just not the cafe it use to be, even the homemade cakes taste bad and doubled in price with the suspected new owners. Doesn’t serve breakfast on a plate to eat indoors (takeout only) although will serve a bacon or breakfast roll on a plate to eat indoors but don’t get too excited as the food is as dry as it comes and you will need a gallon of water to help you eat it. Indoors is nicely decorated and peaceful just a shame you can’t eat a breakfast in the actual cafe for some law reason and if you do have an item which you are allowed it eat indoors you will also be required to pay a tax the cafe is passing onto customers which most cafes don’t usually pass it on think it’s something like £2-3 per item or customer extra so around £5-6 for a bacon roll, personally in my opinion not worth the experience and probably better off going to a local burger van if seeking a proper breakfast or looking to have money left after a simple bacon roll

Not a good word to say about this cafe, never been to a cafe which doesn’t serve breakfast on a plate “because they are not aloud by law” breakfasts are take out only in a polystyrene carton and they won’t let you eat inside unless you buy a roll which is priced at £3 but when you get the bill it turns out more around £5-6 each, I had 2 breakfast rolls(£3 each) a latte and a can of coke and it cost just shy of £15 because of other taxes I had to pay to eat inside, one very odd and expensive cafe with its stealth prices, I would say they are running without a licence or had some persmissions revoked for some reason, I have always ordered and taken food away, this was the first time I sat inside and I will never do it again nor will I be ordering for take away ever again after feeling like I been robbed when the extra charges was clearly not stated before ordering and sitting inside, also food changes throughout the week some days you get good sausages, toast etc then other days it’s like it been cooked with the cheapest products there is, staff a few months ago were great, the new staff are frauds and tend to “forget” things out quite a lot, I will be using the butchers opposite for take away food from now on.
