The best restaurants in England

We found this pub on August bank holiday, we just had a drink and chips, lovely place, friendly staff, so told friends we needed to visit. Sunday lunch 27/10/24, absolutely lovely, ice cream to die for, crème brullee huge, all sauces brought to table without having to ask ( not sachets ), 5 star dining, staff excellent.

Had brilliant birthday meal at Smoke & Ice Retford. Delicious food great atmosphere staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly if they tried. All the staff were great at helping my mum who is a wheelchair user and took time explain menu and sauces ect. Thanks again for the happy birthday song all 10 of us really enjoyed it and would definitely be back. 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Lovely cafe, friendly, efficient service and good quality food. My son had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and I had poached eggs on toast with salmon and avocado. We both really enjoyed it. Will be coming back. Thanks

Called in here whilst visiting this area. Ordered Decaf Americano’s with hot milk on the side. Lovely selection of cakes on display so we both chose the Rhubarb Frangipani. Both coffees and cakes were delicious. It was busy when we visited, which is usually a good sign. Service was friendly and quick. Prices were also good. I loved the quirkiness of this quaint cafe, a record player with vinyl records provided the great music. Definitely recommended.

We had a really good meal and the staff were both friendly and thoughtful, giving us plenty of time to choose our main course.

Friendly welcome. Clean and comfortable surroundings. Food hot and tasty. Downside to visit was the waiting time for food.

The wonderful lady who runs this is an amazing hostess, delicious wines, tremendous crepes, great ambience, you could be in France! Will definitely come again, and bonus for us, dog friendly.

I love this place for lunch , dinner or coffee and treats in the morning. The food never fails to be fresh and tasty. Everything is home made from the bread to the soup, nothing frozen all dazzling flavours. The service is efficient and friendly.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Staff were 100%. Food was plentiful. The Lasagne was totally amazing! The curry was a tiny bit average.. tons of chicken but not that much of the tikka sauce. The pub is squeaky clean.. we would 100% visit again. Well done to all who work here 👍

Came here for food for a date and it was so good, my partner had the tapas which was amazing and the pasta dish I had was so tasty and creamy, the desserts were equally as amazing we had the panna cotta and tiramisu and the ambience was so cosy too, would definitely recommend as the owners were so friendly and lovely too
