Ugly Mug Banbury in Rugby

Amazing coffee, amazing vibe and such a great lady serving on a Saturday morning! I have also been here for the evening and there drinks are so affordable, the espresso martini (as you can imagine) is fab and they still serve coffee in the evening so good for the designated drivers. I will be coming back over and over again.

The best. Literally. There's a lunchtime café round the corner I like too, but for all day, all evening, breadth of... well, everything really, this place is utterly awesome. I cannot love the venue enough. The bar, the people, the owners, the atmosphere, the energy, it's precisely what I'd have wanted to create if I ever had that ability to do so.

This enterprising little hidden gem (a bar in the evening) in Banbury throbs with an eclectic and excellent playlist of music ( Springsteen, R and B, Reggae, Beatles, Stones) and has a buzzy local feel. Staff were super welcoming even though we weren’t regulars. Great choice of drinks, interesting crowd and at last a bar that has recognised that people might like to play pool and darts as well as chat and socialises during the evening. We saw one couple move around all three during their evening out here. They also have interesting food nights. Most importantly, these guys know how to create instant atmosphere…anyone can start up a bar…very very few, in our experience, know how to create a buzzing, ‘want to stay here’ atmosphere.

Very nice cocktails good service. Nice staff and nice chatty manager. Few tables and chairs outside. Music inside and a few people having a boogie.

Very friendly, peaceful atmosphere, chilled out music, tasty food at reasonable prices. Lots of seating and even cocktails served.

Ahhh man, what can I say about this place - being a out of Towner(soon to be a Banbury boy) me and my girl popped into this place one night after stumbling upon it - we went in and felt so welcome by the dude Laurence and pretty drank his place dry of wine and other alcohol - the atmosphere and the vibe is bar none and everyone is just fantastic. A very indelible place that you don’t want to leave - since my first visit I’ve been back again in the day and again I didn’t leave till closing - there is no other place where you’re made to feel comfortable, make new friends and sit back and relax.

It was a real pleasure to spend time in Ugly Mug, Laurence and Mary were brilliant hosts. Lovely coffee, no silly prices and made our kids feel really welcome too. A real hidden gem, we wouldn't have found it without a family member taking us, but we will definitely be back, next time we're down Banbury way!

Definitely highly recommend visiting ugly mug once you go you’ll never leave, such a lovely atmosphere. They even play music you recommend!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been a couple of times and enjoyed the food. I like the ambiance of the cafe.

A new quirky coffee shop in Banbury Old Town. The music being played drew us in, once inside the decor and furnishings are great. The staff are really friendly with amazing home made flapjack to accompany a delicious cup of coffee. An all round better place to enjoy coffee than the larger coffee shops. I would highly recommend a visit.

Best hot chocolates in town and the cakes are amazing! Mary and Laurence are so friendly and give the place a really good vibe
