Lovely traditional village pub offering good food and good choice of ales and beers. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Stopped doing food now. Still a very nice village pub but I'm concerned it may not survive much longer.

Nice old fashioned but very neat old thatched village pub. Great Bass on tap, and it's a free house - so you get what the owners want. Food is simple and well prepared.....our walking group of 9 sent back 9 clean plates !

Popped in after visiting an event locally. Fantastic hospitality and welcome. Sunday lunch was tasty and they also accommodated gluten free for a coeliac. The skittles were great fun and if we lived closer, we would absolutely make it a regular haunt! Great place, thank you!

Took a party of walkers on 14th April. Andrea the landlady has catered for walkers before and was very organized. Menus left in smokers shelter at 9.30 we picked our meals and when we returned at lunchtime meals were ready. Good food friendly staff excellent day. Thank you Andrea and staff at Stag & Pheasant.

Having been turned down by four other pubs in the area when trying to book a table for thirteen on a Saturday lunchtime we breathed a sigh of relief when the Stag and Pheasant replied "Of course; no problem". Our sense of relief at having found a venue that was happy to cater for our family gathering was even surpassed when, on entering the bar we saw the range of delicious beers available on tap including two Church End bitters and one of my own personal favourites ; Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord'. But we were there for a family lunch so having been quickly served with drinks we set to scanning the menu which easily satisfied the various tastes and ages in the group. Someone whispered "The Homemade Steak and Ale Pie here comes highly recommended" and five of us were able to confirm that they weren't wrong - with a gravy to die for and topped with a suet pastry it was absolutely delicious. Someone ordered a steak, someone else gammon and one of my granddaughters decided on wraps while the little ones plumped for fish fingers and beans etc but the most amazing thing was that all thirteen dishes arrived at the table fairly quickly and together or as near as makes no difference. What superb organisation to be able to do that in such a tiny pub and with other tables occupied too. All this excellent fare put us in such a good frame of mind that another round of drinks was called for and selections made from the very inviting pudding menu on the blackboard - apple crumble and custard, another of my favourites was on the list together with sticky toffee and lemon meringue amongst other. I understand that steak nights are also a regular feature here plus occasional live music evenings and even karaoke so although this was my first visit I don't think for a moment that it'll be my last. Thank you all at the Stag for making a special occasion just that little bit more special.

The Stag has recently changed hands - it’s clean and bright with a good range of drinks including a couple of real ales. For those interested in history it’s the oldest building in use as a pub in Warwickshire. The thatched building pre-dates its use as a pub, the cruck frame being of medieval origin. The pub doesn’t serve food yet, but maybe in future? If you come looking for a warm welcome in a traditional village pub then you won’t go away disappointed.

Can’t recommend enough, looking forwards to taking the children and sampling the evening menu all of which look delicious at an amazing price! See you soon

had a lovely sunday dinner the other week. The kitchen is under new management and I have to say it was beautiful.. they went out of their way to cook roast potatoes for me without fat as I cant eat fat. Choice of meats good Yorkshire puddings home made and fresh vegetables. The bread and butter pudding was home made "just like my nan made it" my husband said. Highly recommend this village pub lovely staff and management warm friendly atmosphere.

A massive improvement from before (possibly under new management?). Bar was nice and busy but service still quick. Beer garden nice and sunny. Food was absolutely excellent - the best Chili con Carne I've had in years. The homemade shortcuts pies were fantastic too - loads of steak and a decent size with perfect pastry. Portion sizes were generous but the price very reasonable. We will definitely be visiting more often now!

My partner and I had to be at Wolfhampcote church (nearby) for a rehearsal at 1pm last Sunday, so I rang up the Old Olive Bush to ask if they could fit us in for lunch. They wouldn't normally have opened before 12.30, but Linda was determined that we wouldn't be late for our rehearsal, and offered to open up at midday. She also described the steak pie in such alluring terms that we placed an order for it immediately...and it lived up to the billing. Thank you, Linda, for a delicious lunch, and for being so helpful. We hope to come again!

Great venue for local artists and makers. Usually demonstrations taking place. Fabulous cakes and drinks available. It's not a pub anymore! Don't rate it low just because it's not been updated on here it is unfair! How do request a change of listing TripAdvisor?

Took my elderly mother here for a pot of tea and a bacon roll and wished I hadn't. The bacon rolls took nearly 20 minutes to arrive and the bacon was absolutely cremated. It was awful. I would've demanded my money back but my mother didn't want to make a fuss. Definitely won't return.
