Heading into 2024 and Mother is as fantastic as ever. Recent highlights have been a vibrant chicken curry and Sri Lankan christmas cake - wow. If anything the coffee has got even better. All fresh home-cooking and excellent value. I feel very lucky this place exists in my 'hood!
Thanks to David and the amazing chef's. Blown away by the food. This place goes under the radar a little. Food was outstanding. Was good value for the tasting menu. Will definitely be back again👌
Absolutely fantastic New Years Eve at Bar 1620. Wonderful cosy atmosphere, really friendly staff and great music. An extra thanks to Luke behind the bar…..what a lovely guy. Look forward to visiting again.
Ordered afternoon tea for my sisters birthday. Both her and her husband were highly delighted with this and especially the sausage rolls . Second lockdown birthday and I wondered what I could do to brighten their day and this really did fit the bill. Many thanks .
I went with my 18 year old son to use up 3 hours on a weekday lunchtime. The library of games is gargantuan! There is nearly everything here a seriously knowledgable games nerd could want, and everything is in mint condition. There are games you can play for a couple of ten minute rounds like Kingdomino or Kluster, there are games that can take 3 or 4 hours like Root and Gloomhaven, everything well known and classic is there if you want to drop in but have no inclination for learning, and all the very latest release names that will be flung around in specialist circles are there too. There is pretty much everything for young and old alike.
The owner who served us was lovely, as was the food (and turbo cheap too).
I am DEFINITELY going back LOTS.
P. S. Try the cooperative game Kraken Attack. It is many times more complex than t or box art would have you believe and completely nails to win as a team of just two.
Catered Hen Party weekend, we had fabulous catering for a themed evening on Friday and a formal evening on Saturday. Both evening the food was great, but the formal evening meal was stunning. The entire team were accommodating, friendly, and left no trace that they had even been in the kitchen.
Highly recommend for any private dining event.
A lovely little tea room, it’s set very close to the village train station, very nicely decorated it sets the mood for a very a good dining experience, the hosts make you feel like you’ve known them for years, well worth a visit the foods delicious and reasonably priced.
Best coffee in town and lovely meals to be had, amazing customer-friendly atmosphere and customer service, you feel relaxed and at home whilst enjoying a lovely hot beverage and great company, I recommend highly and shall be returning, thank you for such a warm welcome :)
My wife and I visited after seeing a sign scribbled on a chalk board during the day. It's an innovative little pop-up based in the vaults under Scarborough Market Hall, where there are craft and vintage shops by day. Manned by owner Paul who is very knowledgeable and chatty, we were treated to some superbly kept wines in a quietly informal atmosphere. It's a far cry from the hoi-polloi and bustle of Scarborough drinking holes, and one which must be prized. Top work, we'll be back.
Proper old school boozer! Big screens showing sport, Guinness £3.70 in July 2024, and everyone having a good time. Jukebox belting out all sorts and good craic from the locals. Love it!
