Heading into 2024 and Mother is as fantastic as ever. Recent highlights have been a vibrant chicken curry and Sri Lankan christmas cake - wow. If anything the coffee has got even better. All fresh home-cooking and excellent value. I feel very lucky this place exists in my 'hood!

Just fantastic. Little bit hidden away but so worth finding! Way better than any of the cafes in South End Green and good value. Excellent coffee, beautiful home made cakes and delicious main dishes. Cosy eclectic decor and friendly staff. Go and find it - you will be so pleased you did!

Hands down the best cafe in London! Every day there is a new home-style cooking menu with incredible dishes (one meat/fish, one veg) from all over the world. The food is authentic, the portions big, and the atmosphere incredibly warm and welcoming. The staff are all wonderful and the owner, Chris, has truly succeeded in creating a little community in this tucked away cafe. There are also toasties and cakes on offer, as well as the best iced tea ever! Such a great find! It's also super dog and family friends with very reasonable prices. Couldn't ask for more.

Genuinely a hidden diamond, this one! The food is AMAZING, and is cooked by someone who obviously genuinely loves what he does. Not only that, but there are regular guest chefs and the menu changes daily. DAILY!!! Both I and my friend were genuinely blown away by the wonderful quality of the food and the skill of the cooking. Sadly they are now on hiatus for a month for the August downturn as most people are away, but they will open again I guess at the beginning of September, and I for one cannot wait to be able to revisit and discover just what culinary delights will be on offer then! Oh yes, how do I leave 10 out of 5 for Mother at The Mosaic? <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Variety of delicious lunches and cakes served with a smile. Nicely furnished with lots of mosaics from the school of mosaics next door. Good value for money. Feels homely and comfortable

I have been frequenting this establishment for over a year now and even during the pandemic; it has still remained strong. The staff are a lovely bunch and you can always expect to be met with smiles and great music. The manager in particular, Chris, is very friendly and often goes out of his way to cater to people with allergies, such as my mother who is gluten intolerant. The menu changes daily; though some items such as the cheese toasties and spicy potato wrap are often available and are delicious. Often the menu will centre around a specific cuisine, with the chefs using their own varied backgrounds as inspiration for dishes. They also have special menus for holidays like Christmas or Halloween which is refreshing. I am yet to order a dish that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. Everything is seasoned perfectly and even dishes that are spicy, which is something I am fond of, would be palatable to those who are sensitive to spicy food. As for the coffee, I am an ex-barista myself so I like to think that I am good at judging coffee. I have had a chance to try most of the caffienated drinks available from iced lattes to mochas and overall their coffee is superb. It is neither burnt nor sour and it tastes fresh too so no complaints here. The baristas know what they are doing and you know that when you ask for a flat white, you aren't getting a latte (unlike many places) so they get a big thumbs up from me. Overall, the Mother at the Mosaic is a friendly cafe with great food at a reasonable price and has established itself within the community in the short time that it has been here. I cannot recommend this place enough and my only criticism is that it is not open 24/7.

The Mother at the Mosaic is located next to the London School of Mosaic in Gospel Oak at the junction of Mansfield Road and Southampton Road. It has reopened at lunchtime following a period shut during the COVID19 outbreak. They serve delicous meals and snacks in a friendly community eaterie with mosaics on the walls and on a large table. The burritos are fantastic and the best cheese and ham toasties ever. My local residents group had a superb christmas meal there before lockdown. The staff are fab wth the manager Chris a great laugh. This place deserves support of the locals and if you are in the area ( close to Parliament Hill) it is well worth a visit to hang out in a community setting enjoying great food and good company

I fully concur with the existing reviews. It's outstanding in every way: staff, atmosphere and food. Nothing commonplace on the menu; a phenomenal list of imaginative dishes, juices and pastries for dessert. The staff clearly love what they are doing. The very thought of it makes me want to return there.

Charlotte served us with the biggest smile and best attitude. She was quick and also had an amazing in depth detail about the dishes and drinks. Couldn’t have asked for a better waiter and experience at my first time at dishoom.
