I had finished work and still had more to do when I got home so cooking was a step too far on a very, wet Tuesday. I came in and even as a solo diner they were happy to seat me and let me choose my table. My food arrived swiftly and was absolutely delicious. I had the tandoori chicken and it sizzled as it was brought from the kitchen. The sides were exactly as I wanted them to be and very generous portions. The service Swift, friendly and efficient. I will be back and back with a gang.

We've tried many Indian restaurants in London, but this one, near to our place, was an absolute surprise. We couldn't believe that after three years living in this neighbourhood, we never came to this hidden gem before! I'd like to highlight the manu promo, which is just unbelievable. But it wouldn't be fair it's attractiveness is just their prices. Food was incredible. We had the chicken madras and the chicken curry, along with pilau rice and different styles of naan bread (they have a lot). The starters deserve a special mention, bhajis and pakora, the sauce was beautiful and comes with salad. Good selection of beers and cocktail, and they offered us a drink on the house at the ends. Beware that for the special menu is cash only. The rest you can pay by card. The staff was so kind we are definitely going there again soon.

Meal wasn't great. Garlic nan was very dry, chicken was tough and the baileys was watered down. A bit of a let down to be honest.

I have been getting takeaways delivered from the spice for about 4 years. Today, after being discharged from hospital I decided to treat myself to a sit down. Something I didn't know they did is a SET PRICE MENU. a choice of starters A choice of curry A choice of rice A choice of naan All for under £14 I had lamb samosas lovely, spicey served with a sauce and salad garnish and wedge of lemon. Mmmm.... excellent size....about 5 or 6 bites. Lamb Madras.....I can't stay away from their madras and Kormas Plus their tikka starters are fantastic. I had pilau rice with the lamb Madras...and a garlic naan. Really enough for 2 modest eaters. But, I pride myself on being a finisher 🙂 The service is impeccable. I have dined in many, many fancy restaurants all over London, Kuala Lumpur, Australia (all states) and Europe. The gentleman who cared for me (It was more than just taking an order and serving) was quiet, calm, polite, helpful without being over eager. The great Mario Martinelli of the royal garden hotel knew how to be subtle and let you relax whilst your guests gave you all the credit. This gentleman is of that calibre. I do not give out such compliments lightly. Atmosphere is pleasant, suffuse lighting, comfortable seating no table is too close to another. Dine in is great. Takeaway has one advantage for the single person such as myself ......in that...I can order enough food to feed 6 and have lots of variety and leftovers for a couple of days .... without looking like a greedy hippo needing 2 tables for all the food he wants to taste. If I were to rename this place...I would call it "The taste". 10/10

Such an excellent experience at the Spice restaurant. Service was just fantastic, thank you especially to Ahmed for looking after us so well and making us smile and laugh for the evening! The dinner deal is such great value and the food is so delicious and fresh. Will be back! Can’t recommend highly enough

I ordered via Uber eats and I have to say this was the most lacklustre experience I’ve had from an Indian, we had chicken korma and a lamb jalofreze, neither were any good tasting like they came out of a ready made meal deal at Sainsbury’s and had just warmed it up, the korma had 4 bland lumps in a tube of watery “sauce”, we also got some naans which were both burnt and cold

Consistently high quality vegetarian food. Dishes are perfectly cooked and have an array of wonderful flavours (not bland mushy overcooked veg like many other Indian restaurants). This is now my go-to takeaway for a great meal - in my opinion the best in the Islington/Camden area!

Amazing curry house. Came here for a family members birthday and the owners presented us with a cake & ice cream for the kids! Curry was delicious and reasonably priced and waiters couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend!

The Spice is a north London institution, one of the best curry houses around, the poppadoms are elite, and my personal favourite the lamb madras is fantastic. The service is quite possibly the best I’ve ever had!

We went there several times because my partner likes the place. Every time they would be very welcoming towards my partner, addressing him as "sir", looking to him when taking order, saying thanks after we/I pay. The treatment is never the same for me, and I feel like they don't even look at me. The reason, I suppose, is because my partner is white British and I am yellow Asian!

I went in with my son to order a takeaway and the staff were very friendly. They made the curry mild as requested and my kids really enjoyed it.

Tasted Sag Meat it was very nice, G Nan, sp Nan, Mushroom rice, lovely meal and mouth watering food, well come back more and more.

Your customer service should be rated 5 star. But unfortunately the food wasn't great. Poppadoms and naan good but the korma was extremely bland and mainly tasted of cream. Really lovely staff though.

Ate here recently. Very small portions and very bland food. Average surroundings and slow service. Their curry is very pasty and their rice is very crunchy to say the least.. which means they are recycling it. Not fresh food at all. They also don't seem to know what time they are open until?... seems to vary on when the waiters have had enough and want to go home. Should be 10:30pm... but they will serve you and then not give you time to eat and drink up before annoyingly trying to rush you out by cleaning around you at 9:50pm when their take away and delivery service ends. Plenty of better places to go ... so don't bother with here if you want to relax... you won't be missing much.

My Husband and I had dinner here last night first time. We both loved the food. The service was super fast, the food was very delicious and the staffs were really friendly and kind. We will definitely go there again.

Brilliant food and service. Couldn't fault it. Waiters were attentive, food was divine, free Bailey's and an extra fish curry on the house. Can't get much better than that.

Ordered a delivery from here for the first time. When the food arrived I was disappointed to find meagre portions especially for the price. Most of the flavours were mediocre at best, however, the chicken tikka dish tasted nice (but once again was let down by portion size). It may be different in restaurant, however it was a disappointing takeaway.

Food was amazing and the owner is a good man. The experience in general was exquisite. Will remember this place!

I have a very fussy palette where spice and heat is concerned, but I had no concerns at all at The Spice, as the staff asked me my food preferences and created a meal custom built for me. It was absolutely delicious. The service was prompt and cheerful, and the attention to detail was first class. The complimentary Baileys at the end was very much appreciated too! Last night I went to eat curry with my friend as it is also my favorite restaurant. The staff at the restaurant are always kind to me, and they always respond to my request for the spiciness of the curry I like, and it is always delicious.
