HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Fabulous place. Waited a while to get in but were kept updated as to timings and given a drink in the queue. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Anticipating our needs and advising on the menu. We had to wait a while for dessert but the staff were great about it and refunded the desserts and invited us back for breakfast. Such a friendly place with the most delicious food and atmosphere.

Our lovely servers took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and came out quickly.

After all the hype on social media and Travel shows, we decided to try Dishoom at Kings Cross and boy was it a masterclass in understanding how social media can be deceiving. The restaurant is just fluff and overhype with mediocre Indian food at obnoxious prices. We ordered the vadapav, Chicken Tikka, House Black Daal and The Britania Biryani. A single vadapav is GBP 6.50 which should give you an idea of the ridiculous prices in this place. The pav was stale and the vada was slightly burnt. The chicken tikka tasted nothing like what a chicken tikka should taste. The daal and the Britania were decent but nothing to write home about. This restaurant is perfect for people who have little to no experience with Indian Food but for a local of Mumbai like myself, I would never return and waste my money.

Delicious food and lovely staff. Just a shame you can’t book as we had to wait over an hour and it was a birthday treat. Would probably put me off coming again unfortunately.

If you want to have a delicious lunch, then you definitely should visit this place. The delicious cuisine and friendly staff leave warm emotions. It should be noted that the interior is very atmospheric. I recommend you to visit.

Great (tasting) food, great service, great atmosphere. Shame about the diarrhoea and vomiting that effected our party of four. When reported the next morning we were asked if we perhaps came to the restaurant already ill. Haven't given one star because the meal itself was banging TBF.

Went here for breakfast after lots of recommendations. We were not disappointed. After a short wait we were taken to our cosy table. Masala chai was ordered and served immediately. Lots of vegetarian items on the Breakfast Menu. We ordered the fire toast, chaana puri/Halwa and eggs on cheesy toast. All cooked to order and tasted sublime. The chai always was the star of the shoe. Service was faultless especially by Antik. Nothing was too much. Washrooms were colonial style but well maintained. Will return soon🙂

I would have given big fat Zero if there was an option to do that. What was supposed to be an excellent quality Awadh Lamb biryani was instead clustered stale and flavourless rice with nothing in it, barely any traces of lamb and everything was cold and disgusting and that all for £19. Shame on you Dishoom! As I rang the King's Cross Dishoom branch to complain about the order and the manager (John) as he didn't want to give me his full name, unapologetically and shamelessly put all the blame on Deliveroo. He said Dilveroo has their own kitchens. So why are we getting food sent to us with Dishoom King's X bag? Awful service, Stale disgusting food with barely any traces of lamb to be found. Avoid Dishoom. Worst food ever.

Dishoom is one of London's most hyped Indian restaurants--and for good reason. The food is incredible, with something delicious on the menu for everyone's flavor/spice preferences; the service is on point; and the ambiance is very much in keeping with its casual, street food advertising.

An overrated restaurant despite being full. High price given food was average in taste and texture. The atmosphere noise with really poor lighting (could not read menu without phone torch) and chairs uncomfortable. Cockroaches nearby toilets. Very unpleasant. The service was warm. A very poor experience for a much touted eateries.

Johan was an excellent server, he looked after our table very well. And provided a Birthday treat. Thank you!

This place has lots of character and traditions. The hustle and bustle of Bombay is deffinetly present in the busy restaurant, but in an organised and controlled way, providing a relaxing dining experience. The food was very tasty and full of flavour, spicy but not overpowering the flavour. The service was amazing and very fast. Our waitress gave us good advice and helped to order, regularly topped up water. Very pleasant experience and we deffinetly will be back for more.

There is no doubt that the food at Dishoom is wonderful. What’s really lacking is any scrap of decent service. There are so many staff on the floor - so many different uniforms it’s impossible to tell who does what when you need attention. I sat at the bar and there were staff in at least 4 different uniform styles behind the bar but only 1 guy actually serving customers. He was a bit of a character so invested a lot of time in chatting and engaging, which would be great if it didn’t mean other customers were left waiting. When I finished my meal, my plates and leftovers sat next to me for more than 20 minutes before I had to ask someone to remove them - but finding that “someone” was a challenge given all the excess staff standing around chatting to each other. At least a dozen staff walked past the slowly congealing food on my plates without noticing them. If this was my business, I’d be very concerned about productivity, efficiency and the client experience beyond the food.

Good stuff over here at Dishoom Kings Cross! Service was great, atmosphere was fantastic. It is absolutely beautiful inside with great low lighting. I got the Chicken Biryani and my date the Mutton. Both dishes were really good but the Mutton was incredible. Super flavorful, spicy, and had a great texture. The garlic naan was yummy and the sauces provided on the table are great too. I dont know if this is traditional Indian food, but it was very tasty. I would recommend but I probably wouldn't go again due to the plethora of amazing Indian restaurants around!

Most overrated restaurant I ever had been . Crowded , no better service , It was more overpriced and overrated than I thought . I didn’t had much of expectations but it beat my expectations.

Food was really tasty, not the best naan we've tasted, but still good. Raita has too much onion for me, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. Chocolate pudding was WOW! As well as the cinnamon ice cream. Mango lashi wasn't that good the second time I've visited. Staff was very polite. The place was lovely. Although, if you want to got (let's say) for a date after 5, you have to wait for 30-45' (even if it is one of the weekdays) as they don't accept bookings after 5 (at least for 2 people, idk if they accept for more, I didn't tried)

Booked based on the good reviews and went for a birthday lunch with my mum. We had been looking forward to it for ages but were hugely disappointed. While our server was polite, the service wasn’t very good. We were asked what spice level we liked and said mild. We were then offered poppadoms which were so spicy we couldn’t eat them. Our food arrived before our bottomless chai which had been forgotten and we had to try and get our server’s attention to remind him. The food was ok, but very expensive for what it was. We had mentioned on the booking it was a birthday and saw others were given a treat for dessert and we didn’t receive anything. It’s not that we expected it but on arrival they excitedly congratulated me on my birthday. We were left sitting waiting for our mains to be cleared for about 20 mins and nobody checked in us in that time. By that point we asked for the bill which again took ages. I asked to pay and the server disappeared and went round all the other tables serving them. Again I asked to pay and as he picked up the card machine he then ended up taking an order for someone else en route. We would have paid via the QR code but there is no phone signal downstairs. The whole experience felt chaotic and disappointing for what was supposed to be a birthday treat.

Dishoom King’s Cross is an absolute must-visit! The space is incredible, packed with old colonial-era replicas that transport you to another time. The attention to detail in the decor is just stunning—it’s always such a feast for the eyes. But of course, the real star is the food. I had the lamb curry and the lamb biryani, and both were outstanding. The biryani, in particular, was a unique experience—fragrant, beautifully layered, and full of deep, rich flavors. Would definitely recommend it especially if you have time before your Eurostar 💫

Excellent food and service, very speedy refills on the chai which were very appreciated. Staff were lovely. Lovely atmosphere as well. Will definitely be coming back for breakfast again as there are many more options I want to try!

Good ambience attention and really good food but a bit expensive

This was our first visit to a Dishoom following recommendations from family members. We visited for breakfast and was shown straight to a large table with no wait or booking. The ambiance and atmosphere was pleasant and we were made to feel welcome. As it was our first visit, our waitress Naomi took time to explain the menu and offer her recommendations. She was excellent and very attentive; and a great advert for Dishoom! We settled on the Naan wraps. Food and service excellent, plus I'm now converted to their House Chai which was also first class. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will certainly be visiting again in the future!

It was a first visit for my very dear friend.I had been several times. She was thrilled with the food service and ambiance. All in all a very special experience for us both. Thank you Dishoom we will be back.😀 .

Visited with family, our second Dishoom visit and once again didn't disappoint. We had to queue fur about 40 mins but it is well worth the wait. Once inside we ordered drinks and browsed the menu. I opted for the chicken biryani which is the best I've ever had, my son went for the mutton pepper fry which was delicious and my nephew had the house black daal which is deep in flavour, rich and unxious, we added ochre fries and breads to complete our feast. Everything was fresh, piping hot and incredibly tasty. If you visit any city that has a Dishoom, I heartily recommend a visit.

Worth the wait. Lonely hot chai waiting in the queue on a chilly evening. Gorgeous curry, potatoes, chilli chicken and samosas. We ate at Dishoom previously in Shoreditch 7 years ago. Will not leave it so long this time. Delicious.

Really busy night and it was absolute pleasure to have server Charlotte on Valentine’s Day look after us. Very attentive and professional, can’t praise her highly enough!

Some of my friends and family are based in Kent and their train comes into St Pancs. Dishoom, Kings Cross is quickly becoming my favourite place to take them, especially if it’s someone I want to impress ;) Food is always excellent the atmosphere is perfect and the staff go above and beyond every single time.

Amazing restaurant with great vibe. Dishoom never disappoints. The staff is amazing with great service. I would definitely recommend reservation in advance especially on weekends.

Excellent food, great service and a really unique atmosphere

Second time here and ate the same black Dahl which was as amazing and comforting. My friend’s salad arrived without dressing but they brought it along and offered a replacement. Seating downstairs had less atmosphere than upstairs but it was midday on Thursday and the place was full. Good value.

Lovely experience all round. You can book outside of lunch hour for small groups so we booked for 2:45pm and passed the huge queue outside. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Food was terrific. The only peculiarity was the poppadoms we had were little mouthful meshed savoury crispy rounds which did not give a poppadom experience and were salty as well. They were O.K but not what was expected. Food was great across omnivore and vegetarian diners in our group.

I love this restaurant. The food is very tasty, full of flavours. The interior is beautiful and there is room so we don’t feel like we are sharing tables with the neighbours.
