Always a great place. We sat in the children's corner where they have a great little pretend kitchen! My little boy loved it. Food was delicious as always Jo complaints. The coffee we had was absolutely beautiful too
Great atmosphere, excellent friendly service by two young women. The ploughman's was huge, delicious and well worth the money. Also had a ham & cheese toastie, with fab chips.
Gello and his amazing team hosted us for a private party. It was amazing, the food was exceptional, service outstanding and arranging in was a delight.
I couldn't recommend this place more
Excellent value too.
After taking my elderly mum into the cafe after choosing from the menu. We were disappointed to be told while I was queuing that food stops at 3pm..Nowhere on the menu, (or outside would be even better), does it say โfood stops at 3pmโโฆ It says All day menu, but nowhere does it say on the menu ,food stops at 3pm. I suggest clearer signage , especially for the elderly, who canโt just up and go and find an alternative quickly.
A wonderful quintessential tearoom. Excellent food and service and the salt beef sandwiches to die for. In my view even better than served at the Brass Rail in Selfridges! Great selection of food and drinks. A good sign is that it is nearly always very busy.
Stopped off for breakfast whilst staying at the nearby Premier Inn.
Excellent value - the kids loved their waffles and we enjoyed the adult breakfasts.
Thoroughly recommended and would definitely go back!
19/05/2025 UPDATE: Not so keen on this pub now. Prices for food are incredibly high for the portions. Plus a rocky hard potato rosti which we raised with the manager's wife was apologised for but not replaced or refunded.
It also feels quite 'clicky' so we've not felt as welcome recently, perhaps as we don't go often enough? The entertainment has slipped a bit, too.
There are lots of other more friendly and cheaper pubs which we feel comfortable in.
May 2024: Great little pub with upstairs seating / dining.
Querky decor, good selection of beers, ales and wines. Fantastically friendly, funny and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food with great vegan options!
Plus a wonderful choice of entertainment and quizzes on Wednesday evenings. What's not to love?!

Dropped in for lunch after a 5 mile walk. We did not make a reservation but they were lovely to accommodate our party of 4. The food was fresh and outstanding and the service was friendly and professional. Will definitely come back.
We came last night with a table of 16. I can't find fault with this restaurant at all. Service was amazing and quick. Food was absolutely divine. One of the best curries I have ever had. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed. What a hidden gem. We will be back ....soon. it was so good we have dreamt about the food. ๐
With a large party, you never know how it will go but absolutely perfect in every way. Thank you
We were on holiday for a week but my husband and myself ate here twice. We were served by Izzy and Indie who were a credit to the restaurant, lovely ladies. Our meal was lovely. Shout out to Max, who was the chef who cooked our meal.
I must say that the in house made bread is fantastic. My husband said it was the best bread he had ever tasted! The foccacia style bread was a refreshing change from the sourdough you seem to be given everywhere. It's a small restaurant with great food and great views so make sure you book if you want to dine here. Thanks for a lovely evening x
๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ซ is my "go to" place for a morning or afternoon coffee break.
It get's me out of the house. The staff are very friendly. The service is excellent. Special mention to ๐ ๐๐๐ข (manager), and ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ, ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ and ๐๐ฎ๐ณ๐๐ง๐, as well as ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง and the newer members of the team. The kitchen staff do an excellent job too, even though they seldom meet the customers in person.
