The best restaurants in United Kingdom

We've been coming back to ordering from Ali's Lounge since moving from Crofton years ago. The customer service has always been great, Mo was always an absolute joy and we do miss him. All the staff are genuinely lovely, the delivery drivers are always so polite and always on time. The food is so much better than what is available to us now locally! I do miss the saag paneer which isnt on the menu now, I used to ask for that with channa (chickpeas) and feel a bit healthier ordering it 😄 But the paneer masala is lovely. My husband always orders fish balti and I always have to pinch some as it's so nice too. So glad they deliver to Ackworth, we'd miss them a lot of they didn't. Much love to Mo's friends and family. He was a really good man and looked after us so much, inviting our children to his own family parties when it was Crofton Indian when they were small. Theyre both late teenagers now but still remember how fun it was! Definitely highly recommended. Really lovely people and great food, what more could you ask for ❤️ Thanks for looking after us, Ali's Lounge!

Ordered via just eats. Alright food, seen better, seen worse but overpriced for what you get.

I tried the chicken strips and chips from here. The chips were fairly typical quality for a takeout: decent but not fantastic. The chicken strips were quite bland and no better than a frozen product; they weren't particularly bad, per se, but still underwhelming. Pricing was reasonable, costing me about £6 for one person, although only cash payments were being accepted at the time of my visit (August 2024).

Frydayz is easily one of my favourite local takeaway places to go to, I love their pizzas, their calzones and their wraps, if I had to choose a food for you to try, definitely try their Firecracker wrap, it's so fresh and tasty!

Really good decent cream teas, we shared one between us with the bit of cake for a tenner. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Sat outside in the sun with tea and cream teas. What could be more British.

I'm no 'Karen', every review I've ever written has been 5 stars, but not this time... The lady who served me only wore 1 glove when preparing my food, then coughed directly into the palm of her hand that didn't have a glove on, then used the hand with NO GLOVE that she'd just COUGHED INTO to pick up and handle MY FOOD!? She looked at me gone out and in silence when I politely said "you're touching my food after coughing into your hand, could you wash your hands and make me a fresh cob please". No apology or 'thank you, have a good day' after I'd paid for my order and thanked her. I could understand if I was being a 'Karen', but I think this is basic hygiene and customer service. I wouldn't write a review about this in isolation, but as im already here ill add that they were bickering like children about who is serving which customer when there were 3 staff members and only 4 customers to be served. Poor service and hygiene displayed by this staff member imparticular which I know is not a reflection of how Birds usually are.

Terrible experience from service to food would never go back again and advise all parents to keep there kids back from the owner as he is very creepy

Their pie's and sausage rolls are delicious, better than greggs.

Great pub just off the Common - nice warm interior and a good place to watch the rugby. Great selection of beers and friendly staff. Nice beer garden too.

Absolutely spot on Indian takeout! Had chicken and keema dopiaza which was extremely tasty with quality meat. Starters (lamb chops and tikka) also very good! Had a bad time here many years ago but this meal has completely redeemed them. Would recommend and will be ordering again!

Asked for separate sauce to be told it's too expensive. Paid extra for the sauce. No sauce in my bag. Nice food. Poor personal skills

Tenía grandes esperanzas en este lugar Lamentablemente estábamos muy decepcionados El servicio era bueno con una manera amable La comida fue una gran decepción. Las tapas aunque sabrosas donde los niños raciones pero con precios para adultos. Las pizzas estaban empapadas, insípidas y la corteza estaba llena de aire. Yo mismo cocino pizzas mejores en casa. £ 15 por pizza empapada no es aceptable No volveré a visitarte.
