Delicious food really enjoyed everything.

Highly recommend Yan Woo. The buffet style is all freshly cooked and delicious. Great selection and the value is unbeatale especially if you're hungry! Duck, duck and more duck yum yum.

Great takeaway. Malaysian curry is the best.

Price has jumped up alot in one go for all you can eat

A fantastic place serving authentic Malaysian cuisine with a good variety of dishes. The coconut butter prawn dish is a must try item. But please don't stop at that. A huge range of delightful vegetarian dishes on offer that are delectable makes this restaurant unique. You will find a majority of Chinese favourites but please don't shy away from trying Malaysian dishes which are brilliant.

Just had the best takeaway the only thing wrong with it the chips was to salty,,

Last night I have ordered take away . I did specify in my order “ No chicken please” I did phone yanwoo twice asking if someone can collect the dish because I want have is because contains the chicken . Women on the phone start shouting at me saying that there is only one driver and I should understand and Manager will call me and he will give me the refund , of course I understand but I won’t allow anybody shouting at me . After and hour driver came collect the dish and nobody called me and I’m still waiting for my refund !

Ordered plain noodles. Recieved noodles with unknown meat. Disgusting

Highly recommend this restaurant, especially the all you can eat menu. It is great value for money, very tasty authentic food and the staff are lovely. The fried vegetarian mee hoon Singapore style noodles are my favourite.

Gorgeous food, the 2 ladies front of house are lovely. The atmosphere is too cold though and they don't stock decent beer or cider.

Very quiet in there and seems dark, maybe a little more lighting, the food was nice, took a friend who was visiting and he said he thought it was closed from the outside. Staff polite and helpful.

Always great to come here for their all you can eat menu. Freshly cooked, tasty food at a very reasonable price.

The food is rank and there was a bone the duck which lead a big bit of bone in my partners throat not happy

Food was good apart from the main, the kung po prawns were wayyy too ginger-y. Really overpowered the meal.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT I'VE HAD SOME DODGY FOOD IN MY TIME BURGER VANS AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR OUTSIDE NOGHTCLUBS GREASY KEBABS, BUT THIS CHINESE GOES IN AT NUMBER ONE FOR THE MOST DISGUSTING FOOD IVE EVER TRIED IN MY LIFE AND IM 52 HAD STARTERS THAT WAS TASTELESS AND OVERCOOKED AND UNDERCOOKED RIBS IF THAT WAS WHAT THEY WHERE DRY AS THE DESERT AND CHICKEN WINGS THAT HAD BLOOD INSIDE TOLD THEM BUT THEY SAID THEY WERE COOKED SO CALLED COCA COLA PRICED AT £3.30 THAT CAME AS FLAT AS A PANCACKE DISGUSTING PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME YOUVE BEEN WARNED

Order taken and was told it would be half an hour. Hour and a half later we were still waiting. Called and told it would be another 10 minutes. 25 minutes later we are still waiting. Not overly impressed

Just had a lovely evening here at yan woo, smiling happy staff as usual. Food was lovely, they even put Christmas crackers on the table for us. Didn’t feel at all rushed, only issue was it was slightly cold in there.

The food was really good i would say the best prawn toast ive ever had. Downside is the drinks were expensive and the tables were so sticky the napkins tore as i picked it up.

I've been going to Yan Woo with my large family for 15 years. Having not been here since the beginning of lockdown has been hard. The food is of exceptional quality every single time. I should know having been married to a Malaysian and been to Malaysia many many times. Hats off to the chefs. I went the other evening with 6 of my seven children and had a wonderful meal. It was so good to be back in my second dining room and, it was good to see Fiona again doing an excellent job. Anything I spend here is money well spent. Tring, when will you be opening for your fabulous lunchtime service? I have missed this so much as have my children. The lockdown has been awful but I need that tonic of knowing I can have an amazing lunch of nasi goreng with chicken satay. I hope you do soon. Saturdays come and go and I miss my usual nasi goreng. A fantastic restaurant and the refreshed colours inside are soothing. Please open for lunch.

Sadly a disappointing experience. Although the portion sizes were very good the same can not be said for the quality. Most of the meat dishes served as starters were not only burnt but also the meat was reformed meat, similar to that available in Iceland frozen food stores. The egg fried rice was not only tasteless and stodgy, but smelled of plastic. I shall not be returning.

Excellent "all you can eat" style restaurant, where food is freshly cooked to order and served to table. Happy, cheerful friendly staff. Great value for money. Very busy, so clearly loved by locals.

Not been here for a good few years but so happy to go back. Food was lovely and hot and very fresh. Was very clean and tables spaced out.

I was using this restaurant for years for my take always and occasional sit downs, Far better than any other Asian takeaway in the area. Beautiful unusual authentic food. Absolutely no complaints. Love the different variations of sea food. I shall return.

OMG, what can I say about this place. The food is fantastic, the service is brilliant. I have never had a bad meal here, the buffet is freshly cooked to order it always comes out piping hot. The waiting staff are so lovely and courteous. I would highly recommend.

I rang an order on 2nd May around 6.30pm. I was told to expect an hour and a half wait for delivery which under the current circumstances I fully understood. Just under two hours later my food arrived. The food was cold. The crispy pork fillet was soggy and inedible. The Mee Hoon noodles were not as described on the menu. No vegetables etc. Paid good money for everything to go straight in the bin 😡

Went on a friday night and we both had the all you can eat for £18.95 (price is higher on and weekend to weekend night) The variety on the meal was very good and the standard of food was also good. Couple things that let it down for me. We ordered the shredded chilli beef and it came out cold. Was hoping it was spicy but was sweet instead (though this could be i might not have read the menu properly) when our plates were cleared i did ask if it should be hot or cold and was told hot. She apologised and offered to bring another one which was loving but by that time i was stuffed anyway 😋 The toilets could do with a lick of paint and a good freshen up and the only other issue i had was the level of noise. There were 3 big parties in there was made most of the noise so trying to have a conversation was hard without shouting across the table. It didnt help to add to the level of noise music was put on which just increased the overall level. All of that said the noise and the toilets are why the 4 stars. The staff were very friendly with smiles all around and kept on top of when you had finished, cleared plates and remembered to ask if you want more drinks. Would defo go back and recommend 😋😊😋

Went for a spur of the moment meal and was not disappointed at all, from the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left the service was first class.There is a good choice of food and the two options we chose were both very tasty and the portions were of a good size.I would recommend this restaurant and I’m sure that I will return.

The most amazing food and variety. We went for the 'eat as much as you like' menu. Not cheap at £18.95 per person, but I think we ate our money's worth. Service is reasonably fast even with the restaurant filling up quickly. We booked for Saturday at 6pm. Staff are always smiling and friendly. If you can afford it, I recommend you pay them a visit. Well worth a visit to celebrate.

1st visit went for the eat as much as you can option. No complaints food was very good would go again.

Las críticas fueron buenas, así que aunque lo probaríamos, bastante tranquilo para un viernes por la noche, pero el servicio era bueno, al igual que la comida.Fuimos para comer tanto como te gusta la comida y debo decir que valió la pena el dinero. Siempre evite llenar los fideos y los platos de arroz hasta el final si es posible.Muy recomendable

Fabulous friendly staff. Starters were lush.. ( apart from the crab claws) The duck and crispy seaweed were my personal favourites.. The mains were all freshly cooked / hot/ plenty of flavour. happy to recommend.

Love this place. A true hidden gem

Some of the dishes are medicore. But do not order soups here!!! I ordered a tom yum soup. I expected tom yum. Not red watered down tomato soup with one single tomato cut in half with a single shrimp, slice of squid. No lemon grass, coriander or meat otherwise. Some of your dishes are lazily done. Do it properly! Who are you fooling.

Yan Woo is a lovely place. Relaxed place to eat in or have take away. The food is delicious and the staff are always smiling and friendly. A little gem in Portsmouth. Highly recommend.

Food was lovely. Didnt seem keen to have children there and felt a bit out of place seemed like they weren't impressed with us being here. The manager however was very friendly it was the two waitresses that made us feel an inconvenience.

Food is excellent! We were a large party (33) and there was only the slightest waiting for food.

We have been visiting Yan Woo for many years and have never been disappointed. Good food, friendly service and a lively atmosphere - even though the music played doesn't seem to be as outstanding as it used to be. We will continue to visit this good value restaurant.

Tienen un indicador de nivel de calor útil en el menú y, aunque nos gusta la comida picante, elegimos cuidadosamente. La comida y el servicio eran encantadores. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Sirven la mejor sopa caliente y amarga que puede no ser malayo, pero es mi plato de "prueba". Absolutamente perfecto. El precio era razonable y sin duda volveremos allí. ?

Que decepcion. . todo lo que puedas comer . . . pero si no lo comes . . ¡tienes que pagarlo extra! al ser intolerante al gluten no había información sobre alergias disponible y tuvo que conseguir que el personal siguiera preguntándole al cocinero. . . . no hay mucha opción para mi .El servicio y la actitud del personal fue horrible. . no piensen que querían estar allí. . . un poco como yo.La calidad de la comida era básica y no estaba a la altura de un estándar chino. . . We have dined at Yan Woo on several occasions and always go for the 'all you can eat ' menu and have always been very pleased with the food and service. Staff are courteous and very friendly, food is exceptional.

The place is not salubrious but the staff and food are great good value for all in and no buffet in sight love this place

Went last Sunday as a party of five. All I can say is wow! All of us had a great time, the food was spot on, we all chose different statrters and shared. Plenty of food staff were polite and attentive nothing too much trouble even when one of our party mistook a couple of dips for soup! Always seeing if we were ok and had enough.

Food was good, the duck crispy, meaty and not fatty, very good. I really enjoyed both the lamb and beef randang and coconut rice. Also the crispy chilli chicken was good. Only thing that was poor was the satay sauce. Service was friendly and helpful but little slow but we were a large table.

Tasteless frozen food. Asked for a dip of soy sauce and it was a surprise!! Asked for garlic and chilli mixed in and they had no chilli or garlic in the kitchen!!!! How can this be???? Crab Cakes from Iceland - not the country! And no Ice Creams for the kids because they were "too hard in the freezer"??

Really good food, fast takeaway service

Came here last night. Chose the all you can eat menu at £16.95. Food was good but over order what you would normally as portions small. Everything tasty but Crispy duck particularly nice as well as lamb rendang. Sun lik beer on draft. Had to wait a while for staff to take our initial order but no issues with the service once they had. Staff extremely nice and kept asking if we wanted more food. The lighting is bright in the restaurant so not ideal for a romantic meal but it had a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed our evening.
