What a find! Delicious Malaysian food and reasonable priced. They also have an all you can eat menu which is excellent value - definitely a must visit. Standout dishes was the hot and sour soup, the satay, the duck wraps, nasi goreng fried rice, lamb rendang and the prawns with ginger and shallots. Chef is Malaysian from Penang. And additional kitchen staff are from Sandakan East Malaysia - very good!!!

We ordered from here at the recommendation of my daughter and we were not disappointed! Friendly people when we called to place our order, food delivered within the time they advised it would be (in fact a bit earlier) food was hot and delicious 🤤 100% the best Chinese we’ve had in AGES and we will be using them going forward !! Well and truly stuffed on bloody good food 🤙🏻

DO NOT USE Yan Woo Portsmouth robbing people and not giving them their food even though they have taken the money out the account. Told me it’s my banks problem there online system is down.

food was cold and too expensive for what it was.

The wok fried bean curd with chilli and spices is one of the worst meals I have ever had. Falsely advertised as fried also doesn’t state on the description that it’s served in a sweet and sour style sauce .. The bean curd was soft and flavourless. When I phoned and questioned this dish and that what it’s advertised as is not what turned up. the woman was argumentative and then she put the phone down ... Left with cold chips to eat very disappointed with the dish and customer service .

Absolutely disgusting we are in here now the staters we’re Luke warm with blood coming out the chicken wings so sent them back and they bought us back exactly the same ones just chucked in a deep fried so they were like crisp , just got the main meal and the only thing that’s hot is the chicken balls everything else is cold the lame rendange is black like it’s been cooked 20 times this place has gone so down hill it’s like they don’t care , so never again for me the pic down below is all the cold main that we left

Highly recommend Yan Woo. The buffet style is all freshly cooked and delicious. Great selection and the value is unbeatale especially if you're hungry! Duck, duck and more duck yum yum.

Always my favourite takeaway! Food was piping hot and portions really generous. Two greedy adults had leftovers!

A fantastic place serving authentic Malaysian cuisine with a good variety of dishes. The coconut butter prawn dish is a must try item. But please don't stop at that. A huge range of delightful vegetarian dishes on offer that are delectable makes this restaurant unique. You will find a majority of Chinese favourites but please don't shy away from trying Malaysian dishes which are brilliant.

Wasn’t their best, wasn’t very warm and the chilli beef was soggy and barely had any crunch in it! All the flavours were great as usual though so maybe just an off day!

Last night I have ordered take away . I did specify in my order “ No chicken please” I did phone yanwoo twice asking if someone can collect the dish because I want have is because contains the chicken . Women on the phone start shouting at me saying that there is only one driver and I should understand and Manager will call me and he will give me the refund , of course I understand but I won’t allow anybody shouting at me . After and hour driver came collect the dish and nobody called me and I’m still waiting for my refund !

Highly recommend this restaurant, especially the all you can eat menu. It is great value for money, very tasty authentic food and the staff are lovely. The fried vegetarian mee hoon Singapore style noodles are my favourite.

Gorgeous food, the 2 ladies front of house are lovely. The atmosphere is too cold though and they don't stock decent beer or cider.

had to phone about my order as was taking quite a long time. then when food came it was ok apart from the chips which were way too salty.

Niet echt een gezellig restaurantje. Men kan kiezen om van de kaart een gerecht te nemen of All you can eat, wij kozen voor all you can eat. Hebben hier geen spijt van gehad. Je krijgt een kaart, zie foto, en daarop staan alle gerechten die je kunt bestellen. Alles wat wij hebben gegeten was smakelijk. We hadden het idee dat men liever wil dat je alle gewenste gerechten ineens besteld. Het restaurantje was nagenoeg vol met eters. Minpunt is dat de tafels niet echt schoon zijn de randen waar je arm op ligt pikten nogal. Achteraf kun je je afvragen, als restaurantje al niet schoon is hoe is dan de keuken. Dit is ook de reden van het geven van 3 sterren. Eten was prima.

Very quiet in there and seems dark, maybe a little more lighting, the food was nice, took a friend who was visiting and he said he thought it was closed from the outside. Staff polite and helpful.

Always great to come here for their all you can eat menu. Freshly cooked, tasty food at a very reasonable price.

The food is rank and there was a bone the duck which lead a big bit of bone in my partners throat not happy

First time ordering a Chinese in Portsmouth and definitely wasn’t disappointed. Did ask for the chillies to be removed from my dish which they weren’t but no dramas. Will order again.

Food was good apart from the main, the kung po prawns were wayyy too ginger-y. Really overpowered the meal.

Duck was very dry, chewy and fatty and it spoilt the whole meal. Rice was cold

Order taken and was told it would be half an hour. Hour and a half later we were still waiting. Called and told it would be another 10 minutes. 25 minutes later we are still waiting. Not overly impressed

Crispy duck was amazing so was the chow mein but the satay chicken tasted like rubber and was inedible so had to be thrown in the bin

The all you can eat buffet is fantastic well worth a visit for that alone!

Just had a lovely evening here at yan woo, smiling happy staff as usual. Food was lovely, they even put Christmas crackers on the table for us. Didn’t feel at all rushed, only issue was it was slightly cold in there.

The food here used to be amazing. However it’s gone downhill and is now so bland. The rice is just boiled rice with some egg stirred in. Everything is so disappointing. After eating here for many many years, we will no longer.

Took ages to to be delivered then missed out an item. Satay was like cardboard, pork balls were sodden in grease and the meat was chewy gristle. Disgusting cold food and a rip off waste of money.

Sooo I’ve recently been on a Chinese kick when I have our designated takeaway night each week and I have tried several places. Having never ordered from here before but with good reviews I thought I’d try it. I’m so pleased I did, it’s the best Chinese I have ever had. The chicken curry was the right consistency, not greasy and you could tell the chicken was tender and fresh. The spring rolls were crunchy and fresh - everything was really hot and delivered half and hour early (which went down well because I was starving). Really enjoyed my meal and will be using this restaurant in future, on a regular basis.

Not often I give full rating to places, but last night we made a 'last minute order' at 9.35pm, restaurant closed at 10pm. The food was amazing, everything was cooked perfectly super quick delivery considering they said it'd take up to over an hour to get here and turned up at 10pm on the dot.. 3 people with full bellies, all enjoyed it! Highly recommend this one.

The food was really good i would say the best prawn toast ive ever had. Downside is the drinks were expensive and the tables were so sticky the napkins tore as i picked it up.

I've been going to Yan Woo with my large family for 15 years. Having not been here since the beginning of lockdown has been hard. The food is of exceptional quality every single time. I should know having been married to a Malaysian and been to Malaysia many many times. Hats off to the chefs. I went the other evening with 6 of my seven children and had a wonderful meal. It was so good to be back in my second dining room and, it was good to see Fiona again doing an excellent job. Anything I spend here is money well spent. Tring, when will you be opening for your fabulous lunchtime service? I have missed this so much as have my children. The lockdown has been awful but I need that tonic of knowing I can have an amazing lunch of nasi goreng with chicken satay. I hope you do soon. Saturdays come and go and I miss my usual nasi goreng. A fantastic restaurant and the refreshed colours inside are soothing. Please open for lunch.

I don't normally write reviews, but good grief this wasn't a great experience. Over an hour and a half to turn up, barely warm when it arrived, the egg fried rice seemed more like boiled rice with a bit of egg mixed in and my crispy chilli chicken was more tough and chewy than anything else with barely any sauce. Really disappointed!
