Pho in Portsmouth

We placed our menu order at 12:05 and were not able to eat our food until 12:40. After the starter came out, I had to wait another 25 minutes before I could eat the main. We went with our child and he was very bored, and even the table that came later than us got his food first. There were a lot of staff, but they seemed busy and they didn't see any tables so they didn't come even when I called. Fortunately, the employee who appeared to be the manager apologized and acted kindly, but the time I had to pay to eat a bowl of rice noodles was too long.

Strategically located with a superb view to the harbor, great food, super polite service.

My friend and I recently came here for lunch, and it was amazing!! The food was delicious and there was a really great atmosphere. Our server Elizabeth was super polite and made our visit, especially as she helped me when I wasn’t sure what to order. Would highly recommend, will absolutely be coming back when I’m next in Portsmouth!

Always great eating at Pho. Food and service never disappoints but Raph at the Portsmouth branch deserves credit for his friendliness and superb service from explaining the menu to my friend whose first time , and just a great service overall.

Great Pho, the place is friendly, loads of space between tables which is great not to feel packed in! The spicy green tofu bowl is a firm favorite, just a hint of chilli, warming, the veggies and herbs are always fresh.

Have been to Pho Milton Keynes, and it was excellent, sadly I cannot say the same for the Portsmouth restaurant, appalling service, food mediocre, although even though we ordered cauliflower rice we weren't told they didn't have any until our food arrived, but only because I questioned it, and the toilets were filthy. Would not go back there!

Had 4 starters 2 mains and a couple drinks everything was great Bk looked after us well and was amazing

Having lived in Vietnam for eight years, I imagined this place would bring me some memories, unfortunately it had the opposite effect. I had arguably the worst ever cà phê sữa đá of my life. I was hoping the staff would have the Viet aura but I was totally disappointed. Nice day made up for it outside with some lovely views looking towards Gosport and the IOW. I am probably being kind with 3 stars as the CF was that bad but I love the Vietnamese so I couldn’t face giving only two.

If you love Vietnamese cuisine this place is a double treat where you can enjoy your delicious meal with a great view. It can get sunny sometimes but prefer outdoor seating for a wonderful experience.

Honestly, I can never fault Pho. It is my favourite restaurant, and to speak about the Portsmouth branch is to speak of well seasoned and beautifully presented food, that is often consistent wheen it comes to it's plating. My favourite, and apparently according to my partner this is a very common statement of mine, is summer rolls with peanut sauce - one of my top 5 dishes of all time. I usually opt for the noodles and they always get your body boiling - in a good way! I've just been battling a cold and the herbs and chillies in my soup few night ago definitely pushed me towards the recovery.

Probably one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the uk! The decoration is great like the food and all of the waiters are extremely nice! 100% recommend

Very delayed sharing of a rave review from my visit Saturday 16 March but such fantastic food and service, I knew I had to say something. Excellent quality food, good portion sizes and superb recommendations by staff. We were served by Joanna who was excellent at checking in and making suggestions to ensure we made the most of our time here. 10* service and would visit again just to see her.

First time eating here and did not disapoint, food was so delicious with lots of flavour, the young lady who served us was very friendly, I'm glad we booked as was getting very busy with people waiting to be seated.

I was really disappointed yesterday when we arrived and have waited for our mains to be served an hour later! Really disappointing! If the staff could have been more attentive with the customers, everything would have been fine. The food is good however I would not wait for an hour again ans be ignored.

We enjoyed 3 types of summer rolls with veggie/ no chicken chicken and prawn which were all delicious ( you get 2 rolls each cut into 4 so good to share) Also tried the stir-fried Chinese leaf & baby squid. Our mains were all ‘pho’ (noodle soup) and personally I preferred the curry version. We only gave 4, rather than 5 stars as you need to pay extra £1.50 per addition to the basic soup. We would definitely return and probably just have pho as we could hardly finish the huge bowl!

Absolutely incredible food, the flavours were incredible in our soups and rice dishes! Any issues we had we addressed and sorted. The cocktails were great too, very happy!

Full marks on all count. Great vibe in the place, the service was spot on and the food divine. If I was to come back that would be for the Beef Brisket Curry. That looked yummy and tasted even better in my wife’s plate. I had the chicken and shrimp fried rice. Will definitely come back.

We came in a couple of days ago and were going to give 5 stars but unfortunately one member of the team was serving in shorts and a hoody and felt unprofessional- compared to other members of the team who looked smart. Food was delicious.

Was in here for a nice quiet lunch, Half way through our meal a lady came behind the bar and turned up the music so loud!! It was 2pm! Not 9pm! I think she was a boss of some sort. She seemed very moody and unhappy. Food was ok but the music level ruined our experience.

Visited Pho in Portsmouth as liked the look of the Menu, However even though the food was good everything else about my visit was lacking! Team seemed to just be moping around looking like they didn’t want to be there! Toilets could have done with a clean. Was given a bottle of water with a dirty glass. Had the feeling of a canteen. Much better places to eat in Gunwharf so I’ll swerve Pho from now on.

We dined in Pho at Gunwharf Outlet yesterday the quality of the food was the best we had ever experienced within this chain of resturants, the service from the Staff was super friendly & attentive at all times .. we had our dog with us as well the outside was a little cold so we were allowed to all go in and eat so thankyou Pho for making my Pooch so welcome .. Overall the experience yesterday was Awsome! & memorable thank you 😊

This place gets very busy on Sunday lunch and you need to be here before 1pm or it's a long wait. The food is very fresh and tasty but pho soup base dishes don't have a lot of noodles in it. The fry spring rolls are the best. well price and polite staff. Card only so no cash.

Fantastic fresh tasting and our server Noa was perfect. She noticed we had two small children and came armed with the colouring pencils before we even sat down. We didn't feel hurried or rushed and there wasn't any false attentiveness in her service. Couldn't recommend more and happy to return

The service was great and I love the decor here! I have only removed one star because I got a meal with the ‘this isn’t chicken’ and it was really horrible unfortunately. I don’t think this is exclusive to this branch, but it was just so chewy and artificial tasting. My boyfriend got the mushroom and tofu bun noodles which came without any mushrooms and we also got the summer rolls starter but they were super tough, I don’t think they’d been soaked enough. The satay dipping sauce was so salty as well which was disappointing. The food wasn’t great to be honest just for the reasons above, but having said that I did still enjoy the trip and would go again! You can’t go wrong with Vietnamese flavours and they were definitely present😋 if you love Vietnamese food this is worth a trip. Some other quick positives: -Loads of GF/vegan options so great to go here as a group -Super fast service and kind waiters -The pho looked amazing, I wish I got it! -Extra sauces and toppings provided at the table -Loads of drink options- I am so used to the only soft drinks being the regular cans, but Pho has loads of freshly made drinks!

the food was gross, beef was so overcooked that it couldn’t even be swallowed and overall just had a really odd taste. atmosphere wasn’t great, one of the chefs kept swearing and the waiters seemed clueless i rly would not recommend. not just us either the table next to us had problems too and would not come back

A little expensive for what it is, especially the starters. Not unlike Thai food so if you like that, you'll like this. It's good you can order spicy hot.. Or not. It's good enough and worth a visit but I suppose if you've ever travelled to South east Asia, you'll be a little disappointed but it's the best you'll get in Portsmouth! No coke zero which is disappointing. You'll also have to ask for a receipt if you want one. All in all, not much wrong with the place and with a visit... Once.
