Pho in Portsmouth

First time we’ve eaten Vietnamese food and it will not be the last. We three had three different starters and tried each other’s and did the same for the main dishes and we liked it all. The homemade lemonade was delicious too, thank you.

came here with my mum on Sunday just gone. my mums a vegan and I'm vegetarian so finding something we'll both like and catered for, sometimes can be tricky. we went to Pho for the large menu with so many choices, we ordered some spring rolls which hit different, a coconut curry with cauliflower rice noodle soup. everything tasted amazing with good sized portions. to finish, Vietnese coffee, done properly. couldn't have faulted it, and will be back soon!

Love the menu. Feels authentic to actual Vietnamese food even for a chain. Fantastic for those with gluten intolerances or ceoliac because only one product features gluten!!!!!

I always dine here whenever I'm in Portsmouth to do some shopping. The food is always great. Would highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee after the meal. Also, it has nice views of the solent if you go during clear weather.

not only was i greeted by rude staff and annoyed customers, the food and service was shocking. The staff were quick to take our order, but took our order wrong. Never brought the drinks out that we ordered, then expected us to pay for them. My partners food was beyond bland, it completely tasted like nothing. I had ordered a hot and spicy chicken Pho bowl, the bottom of the bowl felt like grit and neither was it hot or spicy. When waiting to pay i was asked by multiple different staff if i was ready to pay and if everything was okay, and then they kept walking away to get other staff. in total we spent more time trying to pay than we did actually eating as no one would give us the bill, which i dont really understand as the resturant itself wasnt too busy. Also, the hygiene was dreadful. all along the bar was stacked and spilling dirty cups everywhere, it was disgusting. i wouldnt recommend and will not be eating here again.

Overall best Pho experience I've had. Considering they're always busy, the food comes out super quick. Our server Sally was very enthusiastic and helpful. Was a lovely time spent with my chums.

Went with the family. We were told upon sitting down that they had no beef so none of the beef dishes were available. Most of the most interesting sounding dishes were beef, and of course a proper Pho is beef. I suggested we leave but was overruled by the rest of the family. I ordered the fried noodles with chicken and prawns, and it was incredibly disappointing; a small portion of bland, greasy and insipid noodles with three prawns, a few dried up bits of chicken breast and not much else. It was billed as having lemongrass and peanuts - there was zero lemongrass in this dish, and a very tiny sprinkling of crushed peanuts. Just hopeless - my 12 year old could make better noodles than this, and possibly even my 7 year old could. Despite my very disappointing dish I will say that my son's chicken Pho was nice enough, and the kids meals are good value. Alas I was banned by my wife from complaining in the restaurant as it was our waitress's first day......

I had the pleasure of being served by Anna, who made the experience truly memorable. My fav is Pho, recommended by her and The broth was rich and flavorful, packed with perfectly cooked noodles and fresh herbs !

Me and my brother made a bit of a mess, they were so kind and offered water to my dog. Food was amazing and staff were very welcoming. The space and seating was really nice.

Service staff are brilliant, all very polite and helpful, and to top it off the food and atmosphere I'd also brilliant 10/10 would recommend.

Went for a solo shop and decided to stop for lunch. Was feeling something low carb and healthy, this place was great as each item has the number of calories beside it. I went for the prawn pho with chicken brother (as they confirmed it was halal). Added some mushrooms in. The service was fast and it hit the spot!

The food was fresh and tasty. Servicd was good and food arrived quickly. Service charge over 10% as standard, but you can ask for it to be changed. I don't like the practice.hence my lower service rating.

Food is delicious - aromatic and well seasoned, though I wish the broth came out a little hotter in temperature. The pomelo salad was the star salad - great balance of sweet, slight acidity - and topped with marinated perilla leaves which was a huge surprise but very welcomed.

I always enjoy Pho in Portsmouth, good value and very friendly.

Great experience today! We always enjoy it but today was probably one of our favourite visits. We had the classic beef brisket and a chargrilled chicken rice bowl. All cooked to perfection. Great music and atmosphere and great staff. Lovely!

Lovely date night meal. Great service and delicious food. The music in the kitchen and the music in the restaurant clash a little but didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Incredible smell of spices as you enter and an excellent explanation of the dishes from our server. Food was full of flavour and finishing off with a condensed milk coffee was perfect. Thank you.

Food absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly & helpful, especially when we asked questions about different items on the menu. The restaurant was very clean. You can see the kitchen & food being cooked. You can ask for cutlery if you can’t use chopsticks.

The staff are run off their feet God love them and this time of year in gunwharf must be non stop. But! Having been a waitress for many years, you tell the customers when they come in what isn't available... Instead of "ermm yea.. we don't have that, or that etc" Nice enough, don't know why I booked and said it was my birthday as a couple who came in before and didn't book got a lovely seat, whereas I was sat cramped up beside the toilet. P.s the M F thing in the 'unisex' toilets is a bad idea, had women waiting for a wee with 2 perfectly usable toilets marked M free.

Ferry delayed by two hours - looking for somewhere to eat. Found Pho and was very impressed - really good food (Beef Combo Pho and the Chicken Curry were excellent) and very friendly service - turned an enforced delay into a delight - thank you

Was an amazing meal. Love the fact you can add your own herbs and spices to your pho. The brisket was delicious and the pork spring roles. I would also recommend the squid really fresh. Got to love a restaurant where you can see the chefs garnishing the meals with passion. My husband has hearing difficulties and they where very helpful and even offered to lower the music for him. The view of the harbour and spinnaker tower is lovely and romantic.
