Pho in Portsmouth

Was an amazing meal. Love the fact you can add your own herbs and spices to your pho. The brisket was delicious and the pork spring roles. I would also recommend the squid really fresh. Got to love a restaurant where you can see the chefs garnishing the meals with passion. My husband has hearing difficulties and they where very helpful and even offered to lower the music for him. The view of the harbour and spinnaker tower is lovely and romantic.

Came in for the first time after ordering a few times online, and had a lovely experience. Staff were incredibly friendly, everything was clean and tidy, plus the food was lovely. Would reccomend the vegetable spring roles!

Went two days in a row, food is so good. Olli our waiter was such a good host and made us feel super welcome and gave great menu recommendations. Baby squid starter was my favorite!

Two great meals! Planned for 1 but when the ferry was delayed we had to return for a second night! The food is great and our server Oli had great knowledge and recommendations. Had a lovely meal at Pho, first time we visited. You must eat the vegetable mini spring rolls. They are delicious! Chicken Pho is so filling and tasty. Definitely will be back.

The staff make this restaurant an outstanding place to be and eat. A beautiful meal as well. The manager this evening was particularly good, especially after I requested a certain menu. They didn’t have any printed, so he found one digitally for me and made this accessible to me. This made my meal so much more relaxed. Thank you so much.

Super lunch at Pho. All staff very welcoming and food delicious.

Went in for lunch and wished we hadn’t. Dirty tables remained uncleared and the staff didn’t seem aware of customers or who was waiting to be served. After 10 minutes of being ignored at our table we got up and left.

Food was good but the staff were horrible, had to wait so long for the check, had to stand up and start getting dressed. Also horrible atmosphere because of the seating areas, awkward place. Wouldn't recommend or come back again.

The food is delicious. It is my favourite restaurant. It has student and NHS discount. Mia and Enrique gave very good service.

I recently visited Pho, a quaint little Vietnamese spot with a lot of buzz around its pho, and I can confidently say it lives up to the hype. As soon as I walked in, the aroma of simmering spices and beef broth enveloped me, setting high expectations for the meal to come. I ordered the classic Pho the traditional beef noodle soup with rare sliced beef. The bowl arrived steaming, generously topped with fresh herbs like basil, cilantro, and spring onions. The first spoonful of broth was a revelation: rich, deeply savory, with a hint of sweetness from star anise and cinnamon. The broth tasted like it had been simmered for hours, letting all the flavors meld beautifully. It was clear they hadn’t skimped on quality ingredients or preparation time, which made a world of difference. The beef was perfectly tender, just blushing in the heat of the broth, and the rice noodles were chewy without being mushy. A squeeze of lime and a dash of hoisin sauce balanced everything out with a slight tang and a hint of sweetness. There’s an art to pho, and this restaurant has mastered it. Highly recommended for a cozy, authentic Vietnamese experience.

We recently dined at the Pho restaurant in Portsmouth and had an awful experience. After our meal, three out of four of us became extremely ill, with severe stomach upset and diarrhea. None of us had eaten anything else that day, and we are certain this wasn’t a result of a bug. The most concerning part is that my grandson, who has type 1 diabetes, was with us. Thankfully, he didn't get sick, but had he been affected, it would have put him at serious risk. Managing his blood sugar levels would have been challenging in that condition. Additionally, we were shocked by the state of the facilities. The toilets were filthy, which raises serious concerns about the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards at this location. To make matters worse, there's no clear contact link on the restaurant's website to lodge a complaint. This experience has left us deeply disappointed, and we urge management to urgently address what seems to be a severe hygiene issue.

An impressively authentic range of Vietnamese dishes with all the delicate flavours, layers, subtleties, textures and punch you'd expect. The starters were particularly good (a range of different spring rolls) and the pho itself filling and flavoursome. Beer was from Laos (would love some Huda or Saigon if you can). The place was packed and the service was functional as a result. Pretty quick though. We had booked a table but still had to stand around for 20 minutes before being seated. Not a disaster but a complimentary drink or starter would have been nice. Overall, good food, reasonable prices (authentic Vietnamese pricing would be awesome - who doesn't love a 50p beer) and prompt service at a very busy time.

About 40 years ago I worked with South-East Asian refugees (the ‘boat people’) in refugee reception centres around the UK. I think this was the first time since then that I have experienced some of these flavours and textures (particularly the way the tofu was prepared). As a vegetarian I found the wok-fried noodles with tofu and mushrooms absolutely delicious. The other 3 in our party were perhaps slightly less enthusiastic but were less used to spicy flavours. I will definitely be looking out for branches of this chain in future travels around the UK.

First off, it's cold in there. Secondly food is in a way quite terrible. Everything tastes like lemon and garlic. Service generic, you forced reviews and force service charge. Nope, never again.
