Woodlands in West Berkshire

This was probably the nicest restaurant Sunday lunch that we have had for years. The welcome from the staff was warm and genuine, The setting, overlooking the 1st tee and the 18th green was beautiful and the food was special. An enormous table of help yourself starters (prawn, salmon, smoked salmon, pates, salads) and then a carvery with perfectly cooked roasts and a wide selection of vegetables. We couldn't manage a sweet! The pricing of the food was sensible, you could choose to have two or three courses at different prices. The wine was too expensive though. Thoroughly recommended but we were told that the chef was leaving so check before you go that the Sunday lunch is still the same style.

We had our wedding reception here and it was amazing. The staff were so helpful, especially Kiersa, Martin, and Nicky. From start to finish there was nothing they couldn't do to help us, including keeping up the twinkly lights on the beams from Christmas to March for our special day, which was very much appreciated! The food was lovely on the day, we've had so many comments from our guests telling us how much they enjoyed it. We've also had lots of comments saying it was the best wedding they have been to and how beautiful the Golf Course was. We were allowed to go up into the hills to take photos which have turned out amazingly, some of them look photo shopped the scenery is so magnificent. I really wanted a venue which had beams, and the fact that the different areas could be closed of was wonderful. We can't express how great this venue is and we would choose it all over again in a heart beat.

Some friends suggested we went along. I was a bit worried that we were gatecrashing a golf club but it was really good. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. GW

A great value Sunday lunch with amazing views and fun atmosphere the whole family enjoyed! I would definitely recommend Woodlands to anyone looking for a venue to celebrate a special occasion! We will be back soon.
