We used to visit this cafe on a very regular basis, but due to difficult family circumstances, this was our first opportunity to return in 9 months. We were welcomed with open arms by the owner (Karen) and by the waitresses (Yvonne, Pip and Maisie), who all said how much they'd missed us, and how lovely it was to see us again. Pip and Yvonne both remembered our usual order (particularly impressive, as I have a restricted diet and have to slightly alter a dish on the menu). The food is top-quality, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. In these days where the impersonal machine is king, it is lovely to visit an establishment where you receive top-notch personal service, and where you are made to feel like a friend rather than merely a customer. I truly cannot recommend Williams & Thomas highly enough - it is the best tearoom in Kent.

Another visit to this fantastic tea room / cafe for our knit and natter. Very tasty halloumi and honey toasties followed by a lovely piece of carrot cake. Wanted to try all the cakes! Good choice of coffee and teas. And very friendly and accommodating staff. Just wish I lived nearer to visit more often x

After finishing a 6 mile walk we decided to call in for lunch. The first thing we noticed was how lovely it was set out. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to a very comfortable seating area. What a wonderful menu with plenty of selection and the produce was top quality. The whole experience was exceptional especially the friendliness of staff. Best value I've had for my money in a time.

I can’t state clearly enough how disgusted I am with the customer service here. We were issued a voucher at the beginning of Covid for £60 for an afternoon tea they had to cancel. We weren’t offered the money back even though we were not at fault, just the voucher. The tea rooms then remained closed for nearly two years, just opening at odd times when we weren’t available to visit. I had spoken at length with the owner Karen during this time, exchanging a long email chain. Always very pleasant, asking about each other’s families, saying keep safe etc. Karen extended the voucher a few times because of the tea rooms being closed so much, and my elderly parents wanting to have both vaccines before they felt safe going out in public. When we went to use the voucher however, Karen was unbelievably rude, almost like a different person to the one I’d been emailing. She kept stating we’d had 3 years to use the voucher and should have been in sooner, and had absolutely no answer for the numerous emails she’d sent me saying she was more than happy to extend. I had in writing her offer to extend with her name right there, and she had nothing to say other than she was drawing a ‘line in the sand’ and saying no to vouchers issued during Covid. She was rude, unhelpful and completely unable to accept or own her own words in the emails she’d sent. She wasn’t apologetic, and had quite an argumentative, arrogant attitude about her. We’ve been pre-pandemic to the team rooms and had always found it a very pleasant experience. Safe to say we will NEVER be going again, and will be spreading the message as far as we can. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Homemade, cooked & baked to PERFECTION! Beautiful and immaculate courtyard & tea shop, with a friendly community feel and even a little bowl for our furry friends. Our choice was to share a …to die for, comforting Halloumi and honey sourdough toastie, which oozed flavour & (a warmed through) haddock quiche accompanied by freshly prepared green bean salad. Washed down with a latte, coffee and chocolate milkshake. We couldn’t get enough and spoilt for choice we settled for a banana & caramel layer cake & ginger cake with caramel icing, topped with mini homemade meringues made the perfect dessert to finish our visit. Friendly, attentive staff! We will definitely be back and counting another toastie off the list of mouthwatering flavours- perfect autumnal/winter warmer! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped in for a cup of specialty tea and a piece of cake and we were not disappointed :) The venue was very well presented in terms of decor, cleanliness and layout. The staff were very friendly and offered a valuable insight to the menu of teas and cakes. The tea (chocolate orange) arrived with it's own infusion timer and there were 3 cups worth in each pot and the size of the cake slice was the best I have seen in a long long time. The cakes were very light and tasty. If you enjoy your teas, your cakes then this place is worth a visit

Unusual location as not where you would expect to find a nice tearoom. Inside it is beautifully presented, light and fresh feel and exceptionally clean. The chef should enter the 'bake off' - the savoury scone texture was excellent, all pastry items were fantastic and the cake selections were light, airy and delicious. The hot and cold dishes all looked delicious. Lots of thought has gone into everything down to the little details like the coffee filling in the meringues which was clearly made with real coffee and the timer that came with a large pot of tea leaf tea. The presentation of the all the food was also excellent. We were blown away by this little tea room and will definitely be going back to try some of the interesting salads which looked gorgeous. There is no car park so you have to park on the road outside. We had no problem finding a place to park but it is a busy road so you need to be careful when you get out the car.

I recently visited with friends on a Saturday afternoon; it was my third visit and it has always been consistently good; lunches are often Ottolenghi in style, fabulous salads, lovely scones, cakes look good but I've resisted, and there is a wide variety of Meringues, which I had with berries and cream. Coffee is cafetiere only although there is a wide choice. It was very quiet for a Saturday and this is a shame for the owners as it really is a very good place to eat. I am guessing that its location might not be the best - parking isn't particularly easy, being on a main road. Lavatory was clean and with baby changing facilities; I have found the staff to be very friendly on each occasion that I have visited; as they are often carrying near boiling water and hot coffee etc, their concern for the whereabouts and well being of the toddler not sitting with its mother, mentioned in the review below should, in my opinion, be applauded, not condemned! I hope to visit again soon as this really is a fabulous place.

We took my Aunt for her Birthday for an afternoon tea. Upon booking a table I was told you didn't have to pre order food as it was prepared to order, I am a savoury kind of girl so ordered their savoury afternoon tea, this was so delicious 5 small savoury scones with a selection of local cheese, dates and two chutneys. My Aunt and Mum fancied the quiche with green bean salad. The quiche was superb but though the beans had a lovely on dressing they were very 'al dente' and really needed a little more cooking as they were too raw to eat - such a shame. Tea was plentiful and brewed with a timer at the table. My Aunt and Mum had the most wonderful meringues with fresh fruit and cream. We bought extra of these to take home. I had two small scones with jam and cream - very nice but I would have preferred clotted cream instead of whipped. Not really a criticism but personal choice - maybe something to consider. I would definitely return as very pleasant afternoon with very attentive staff.

Well I’m not one to normally write a negative review but in this case I have no option. We had passed a couple of times and seen this place on social media so thought we would save it for a quiet afternoon. Sadly there isn’t any parking nearby apart from the busy road outside if you’re lucky. We came in and sat down and waited a couple of minutes to be acknowledged. A young girl who looked like she was away with the fairies had walked past us 4-5 times, each time with only one thing in her hands rather that use a tray. After what seemed like an age she brought over a jug of water, said have some water whilst you wait and disappeared again. I thought I don’t want water, I want a cup of tea. Another lady was scurrying about clearing a table on the other side of the tea room and still no-one had asked if we would like tea. I dont expect to be served immediately but waiting 10 minutes and no order taken, when there were 5 others in there was way too much. The menu implies as many pies, quiche and other things as you’d like for £4.50 (For which you have to go up to the counter to look at) right past other customers is daft. What happened to the good old chalkboard with the specials written on it? You don’t have to pay an additional £3 for salad. After around 15 minutes of waiting we decided it was too long and we got up to walk out. It was then a lady from the kitchen appeared and challenged me over why I was leaving. She knew exactly why and then stated that she had been timing us. I explained I didn’t expect to wait so long to be asked if I want to cup of tea as it was the tea room and she had no reply. I can see that it is trying to be an upmarket tea room and I’m sure when you finally get round to eating and drinking it’s lovely but I’ve been to 30 or 40 tearooms in Kent and Sussex and I have Never had to wait so long for a cup of tea. We may consider returning to try the full experience but this has really put me off.

The tea came as part of the price on the menu so was good value. We will definitely be returning, although may book a table in advance next time as it’s not huge and a few tables were already reserved - and I’m not surprised as it’s such a nice little place. We loved the shop too, all the meringues sounded amazing and I know we will be returning very soon!

We visited as a group of about 20, we chose to have an afternoon tea instead of a Christmas lunch for our swimming group. The cafe was themed beautifully for Christmas with mini crackers on the table, a Christmas tree and twinkly lights. It was refreshing not having sandwiches but a beautifully presented board of mini pastries such as quiche, Yorkshire puddings with beef and cheese parcels amongst others, we had a basket of mini scones including savoury cheese, plain and cranberry and orange and spice. The cake selection was very impressive with proper slices of fresh cake including chocolate fudge cake, lemon sponge, an amazing gingerbread cake, mince pies and meringues. It was all top notch and we had a fantastic afternoon. The staff were all very helpful. There was plenty of food and most of us took something home. Visited with a friend today at lunchtime. We both had a savoury selection which had a savoury scone, cheese, chutney and three savoury pastries. Topped this off with a lovely pot of tea each and then treated ourselves to the homemade cake for afters. Just lovely! Friendly staff and a lovely setting. Thank you Karen and your team for another lovely lunch!! Have also been for breakfast previously which was lovely!! Recommend highly!

Karen's tea rooms and Good Food shop are amazing.... the best cakes and scones, the finest teas and great service....they even have a timer on your table to tell you when your tea is ready to drink! So many great little personal touches. The cakes change all the time and they are all made on site in the open view kitchen. The cafe is just lovely. If you fancy a trip out for a nice bit of brunch or afternoon tea -this is the place to go.

This little gem had been recommended to me by a close friend, who could not rate this highly enough, and no wonder why. Its hidden away at the back of a little modern shop selling locally produce foods, which are also used in their tearooms.

Lovely visit to this great find. We were out and decided to visit a local garden centre to have a coffee/tea and cake, when we remembered a recommendation from a friend to this place. We visited early afternoon and having sat down realised we had made a good choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant place to relax and enjoy the food and service.

A gem of a tearoom situated at the rear of The Good Food Shop (which is also worth a visit!). Enjoyed the most sumptuous cream tea with service that was polite and attentive and everything was presented on beautiful china. The table was laid with crisp white linen and fresh seasonal flowers. A wonderful selection of teatime goodies followed: tiny lamb pies, cheese scones, filo cheese and leek pies, quiche, farmhouse cheeses, fruit scones with cream and a selection of homemade jams, raspberry cheesecake slices, citrus buttercream cake, lemon meringue pies all garnished with fresh figs, raspberries and strawberries. Fantastic and highly recommended.

This tearoom offers one of the best cream teas in Kent! Situated to the rear of a small shop offering fresh farm produce, it boasts attentive, polite service and outstanding food that contribute to a first-class experience. Everything is freshly prepared by the owner Karen and her team in the open kitchen which adjoins the tearoom. On the day we visited, having booked a table for a cream tea for two, we were staggered by the attention to detail. The table was laid out with seasonal fresh flowers (asters, rosemary and sage), Royal Albert china, crisp white linen napkins and tablecloths and dainty cutlery. The table looked simply beautiful. A selection of tea, coffee, and juices were available and when the tiered cake stand arrived, it was groaning under the weight of the following items, all perfectly proportioned for afternoon tea: tiny lamb-filled pies, cheese and leek filos, quiche slices, cheese scones and a selection of British farmhouse cheeses. In addition, plain and fruit scones, citrus sponge, raspberry cheesecake slices, lemon meringue mini tartlets, cream and homemade strawberry and raspberry jam. The cake stand was decorated with slices of fig, strawberries, and raspberries. It was truly a feast for the eyes and palette. We asked for and were given doggie boxes to take home the surplus and they were thoughtfully lined with paper doilies. My first visit to the tearoom and I am already planning my next: wonderful and highly recommended.

I came for a Sunday breakfast with my wife and child last month and had a very poor meal unfortunately. I had the breakfast sandwich, the bacon was tough no hint of being crisp with a layer of unrendered almost raw fat and mostly all barely warm. My kids had the pancakes and were expecting something light and fluffy but they resembled a stodgey scone with no real taste. My wife had a cold poached egg. I dislike leaving a negative review but we were all looking forward to breakfast and at £70 ish not cheap and not worth it. One thing - I had a nice coffee and good service - just very poor food.

Friendly staff and wonderful service, food was piping hot and fairly quick to arrive, with generous portions and everything was delicious, will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.

Really nice place with good coffee and cakes and good atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Also has offerings from various local artisans.

Had a very enjoyable lunch last Sunday. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Yorkshire puddings were really excellent. Venue has large parking space and level pathways to interior. [If you have mobility issues use the left hand side carpark at the end of the drive] In all excellent value.
