Hello there So I have been to the pub William Camden on Sunday and have a great time with friends We were there to have drinks with friends the staff was so polite We ordered some desserts I couldn’t stop ordering it again because it was beautiful and the prices are also standard I would definitely visit the place again

The pub was very busy when we visited. The racing from Cheltenham was on. The staff were on the ball tho and the wait time for food and drinks weren't terrible. Quite a good choice of drinks and the food was standard pub fare. It was clean and comfortable and welcoming tho. Pretty good for a late lunch with friends.

Hello team William camden I visited your restaurant yesterday and was so satisfying the food was so good i ordered nachos as starter the service was so fast and there was no compromise with plating and taste your management was so perfect I would definitely stop always while passing by Thank you and keep going

We struggled to find somewhere for a Mother’s Day lunch and came across this venue that had availability for 8 of us. Having never been before we wasn’t sure what to expect but it was very nice. They had a large table for us and it was very family friendly. We ordered food, some of the items of food could have been slightly warmer but it was a busy afternoon so it’s understandable. My mother in law was also told if she required extra gravy to ask, we did ask a young man for the extra gravy, he said he would see what he could do, came back a little while later saying it was coming but it never actually arrived. We ordered ice cream for the children for desert, when they came it was mostly melted but again it was a busy afternoon with lots of food orders. We did have a mistake on one of the main meals but that was quickly rectified. Overall it was nice and if we were in the local area again we would give it another try.

I really liked the atmosphere of the pub, there is good music playing here, posters with upcoming football matches are visible - this is what I and my family love. My husband and I ordered food and drinks and we really liked the steaks and fries. We really enjoyed our visit to the local pub, it was so amazing

staff very friendlly, pub nice enough but food was biggest let dowm, it was awful low quality. . i guess you get what you pay for it was cheap & horrible. service was nice , we would return for drinks, pool & darts but we wouldnt eat there again i can see why its empty shame shame really if food was better it could be nicer i would recommed going for drinks only

Super quiet as went in for a weekday lunch. Nice big spacious clean pub. The lunch menu was great and very reasonable. Just need to give the menus a wipe down! Would visit again as a nice local pub to me.

Nice pub. Serving general pub grub and a Sunday roast which is good value for money.

Our second visit for lunch, parking was confusing so to save time don't bother with the information on the machine outside just go straight in and register at the bar, a quite Monday lunchtime we ordered Chicken fillet burger, Lasagne with salad and garlic bread and I had Corned beef hash pie and chips, only criticism salad needs a dressing because it appears dry.we all enjoyed the experience.

We as a family of 4 came here on a Thursday early evening for a meal. Ordered drinks at the bar as our table had no number. Then ordered our drinks and meals on the App. Waited 45 minutes for our drinks, so went to the bar and asked for them. The food followed not long after, which was mainly cold. While still eating a lady can up to us and said we need to leave by 6.30pm as we have children, which was 6.05pm. Just as we were to going to order our desserts. I challenged the lady and said it's a week day and we was here on a Saturday when it was very busy and was told to leave at 7pm. She just looked at me and smiled. No examination why so early. This Pub has bad advertising as a Family friendly pub...... What is wrong with people, my Children wasn't running around like the table beside us and letting their infant run behind the bar. My children are 7 and 12 so no causing any problem ...! As a pub it's poorly run, and poor food service/quilty. Will not be coming back.

Didn’t eat but it was a 90 minute wait BUT… it was quiz night and packed so you’d expect that. All the plates I saw were empty so guessing the food was good

Very nice Christmas meal for 18 family members. We had selected our food in advance and despite one or two revisions by us, everyone received their meals as ordered! The turkey was the biggest hit. It was plentiful and succulent and a few envious looks were exchanged! The seating area was clean and tidy as were the toilets despite it being a busy Sunday before Christmas and the service was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly. A slight blip with the billing, I think caused by an overly complicated Greene King computer system, was resolved amicably and so did not detract from the overall experience. It was very reasonably priced and we will definitely return.

Very welcoming, with good service. Food and drink were good. My visit was on a Monday lunchtime so can't really judge the atmosphere.

It is confusing what they are try to achieve here. They spend a lot of money refurbing the place and then try and run at 40 ft bar with 3-4 people. Serving food they don’t bring cutlery and just plonk ketchup on the table. The plates are still here 2 hours later.. It takes 10 mins to get a drink and have run out of glasses as no one is collecting them. All other pubs in the area they go overboard, this place is the opposite…..

Great night out with good variety in drinks and food, to which customer service was amazing! Lovely staff who are great to talk to and will definitely be coming again.

I went for lunch with my husband. He ordered rump steak. We were the only people in at the time -12 noon. We waited quite a while for the food to come. His steak was raw - not rare- raw and just sealed on the outside. He asked if it could be cooked and so we waited about 20 minutes. When it came back it had been cooked a little bit more but it was inedible due to it being very sinuey. The chips and peas were stone cold and the sauce in the sauce boat had a skin on it. The chef hadn’t even put new chips and peas on or at least heated them up. It was an insult. We did get a refund for his meal but the staff didn’t seem to care much about customer satisfaction . They were standing around and you had to get their attention when you went to the bar because it seemed as though they were trying to ignore you. We got the impression that nobody had any interest in customers.

Have been there twice before..didn’t appreciate it much during those days..but recently when I came over for few drinks and the match..the service seems to be improved..the hospitality received was good,one team member was constantly in service…don’t remember his name but I think he was a new joinee with glasses and he was managing the crowd well there.

First time I have been to the pub and I won’t be going back. When I arrived I wasn’t allowed in as a fight had kicked off and they were waiting for an ambulance…and it was only 8pm. Went inside to meet friends. It was freezing as people constantly left the door open to the garden, and it didn’t seem like the heating was on. We ordered some drinks on the app and our food which we ordered later arrived first. We asked the waitress to get our drinks and In between someone else brought the drinks. The waitress then arrived with the same drinks and had a go at us - the customers - for not telling the other person that she was getting our drinks. Obviously we had no idea who was getting our drinks and I did speak a piece of my mind as she was so rude, to which she stormed off with the drinks as if we were trying to get an extra drink. Appalling experience.

The William Camden has gone totally downhill since the last change of management. Staff have no idea what is happening. I tried to book some tables for 50 people (something we have done for the last 10 years) for an afternoon in early December only to be told that I will need to pay £5 a head deposit in advance so total of £250. It’s no wonder the place is now always empty. Wake up Green King people are staying away in droves it doesn’t help that it is the most expensive pup in the area either

I came to William Cadman for a quick bite recently. I really liked the food, which arrived quickly. very pleasant atmosphere in the hall. By the way, this is a pub where you can drink beer and watch football! I'll probably come see you one of these days.

I went there for drinks and i see massive offer banner in front door i look the offer and start feeling hungry food was fabulous service was great very help staff and manager. looking forward to go back again!

Terrible food and service Terrible experience. Family down from another part of the country for 1 evening so wanted to get together for a nice meal. We ordered all food and drinks which took a while as seemed to be 6-7 people behind the bar but only 2 actually serving. 3 meals arrived after a fairly long wait, one had burnt garlic bread so hard couldn’t even snap it. No Cutlery was given so had to go searching for it. Waited 30 minutes for 2 other meals in this time kept enquiring as to where they may be, various staff coming to us telling us different senarios blaming every other staff member in the process. Eventually 45 minutes after the rest of the party had eaten we get the 2 remaining meals, incomplete with thing’s missing. So called Managers offered 2 free drinks for our trouble which seemed an insult. In the end a staff member called Halle intervened and was professional and very helpful.

Fantastic food, cleaver and friendly staff and management. Time well spent in the pub. And best place to have a DJ night on Friday’s and Saturday’s and quiz on Wednesdays.

A spacious and warm place where local people seem to come together to remake the world. A very friendly welcome by staff who go out of their way to say a few words of French: a nice touch. The fish and chips were delicious.

Food not very hot, and a long wait for it. Wrong dessert served. They also forgot drinks ordered through their app. Service was bad.....

This pub has gone to pot ,, it’s a embarrassment to drink in there now days short staff ,, no management and missing charisma,, are u green king trying to flatten it because if so ur on to a good thing ,, it’s a pony run pub and all regulars have left and manager never is around

we had a long 45 min weight for food and I must say it was the worst food I have ever had don't how can some one not make cheese and onion roll with chips and mess it up

Such a shame, it's in a great location but we wont be returning. We just moved our businesses nearby and visited to ascertain whether we could use as a hosting location, alas not. I could list the issues, but short of time at the moment, the most important thing to mention is the mass of bites I have suffered on my ankle from inside there, unsure what insect they're from.

Shocking food. Food was cold and some bits missing. Bread was stale. Service was shocking. Staff was talking and walking off well still speaking to us. Will not be going again

Well where do I start ….. we had a group booking of 8 which 2 guests were nearly refused entry all because of having their baby with them but they was allowed to enter after talking with the manager. Anyway the food came out eventually and it was all cold and not worth eating. Items were missing off the order when advertised. The bread was stale and dry, butter had a funny taste to it so made it taste worse. The service for restaurant area was appalling talking to us while walking away from our group and shoving orders between us at the table and also had a attitude problem also. Sorry but I won’t be here again anytime soon

Loved the outdoor space and a great place to watch football. Just the food was really poor, tried the vegan fish and chips and it was majorly undercooked. Was really cheap though at least so that's something! The other food I saw being brought out looked a bit better tbf

Waited 1h40 mins for the food and had to ask for a refund, during the week . And there was also another 3 4 tables in the same situation, in the scenario where not many tables were heaving food . Thanks for the bartender that offered us chips for our son , 1 h in the waiting time. Customer service has go e deep down since Covid. Not going there again.

Quiet Tuesday afternoon Guinness - very good pint in a refurbished pub that is Worth a visit

My wife and I went to Wiliam Camden for food. I ordered the vegan fish and chips and it was not good; I don't think the cook liked vegans/veggies, as even the chips on my plate were bad. My wife ordered the fish and chips; the fish batter was very greasy although the chips were ok. I doubt we'll go there again.

Second occasion that I have brought a visitor to the Restaurant and ordered Senior Citizen Meal deals. Today the main meal 1st choice was not available so 2nd choice was taken. Deserts were ordered as 2nd course. Arrived 12.20pm and ordered immediately on arrival. Only 1 other order placed two minutes before ours, no other customers at that time. After the main courses were eaten, a second round of drinks were ordered as we expected a little time for the desserts to be served. At 12.45pm the Bar staff were chased and apology received for slow delivery. At 12.50pm the Kitchen Supervisor was asked to chase, as was expecting to deal with personally. At 2pm nothing had appeared; The deputy Manager was informed of our needing to leave the premises, since we had a train to catch to get into Victoria at 2.08pm... All that we offered was a note to the Manager for poor Service. No refund or further apology received . My suggestion to any visitor to William Camden, Allow more that 2hours for a simple 2 course meal

On a very quiet weekday lunchtime we ordered 4 meals. An all day breakfast: pie chips and peas: 2 x fish platters. After waiting 50 minutes and asking where our food was, as there was only 1 other person who had ordered food, our plates were delivered to our table. On the all day breakfast there was a sausage missing, the fried eggs had been left under the warmer and were crusted and solid, the bread had gone crisp and the butter had melted to an oil. On the pie chips and peas - the garden peas were rock hard, the gravy had not been mixed and there was far too much granules to water - so as well as being jellified it tasted disgusting. On the fish platters- the fish was really over cooked and then left under the warmer for far too long, the battered sausage was over cooked and the garden peas were hard.

Excellent pub, good food, great choice of beers and a top place to watch live football.

If you’re going here for drinks, there is a good range that is well priced. The place is very spacious and has a large beer garden with screens However we have been here twice for food as well, once prior to renovation and once after. In both instances getting food has been a complete shambles. The first time we were told three times our food was coming only to be told almost two hours later that actually the kitchen had closed and the kitchen staff had gone home. The second time was similar, and after about 90 minutes we had to ask for a refund.

The staff service here is the way forward they all went above and beyond, despite no steaks, many ales not being available they rose above this to give a magnificent experience. Ellen and the team deserve all the credit possible.

Since the refurbishment and finally getting the right staff, this pub ticks all the boxes. Great family pub with great food and service. Great value for money too. Thanks guys. See you again soon !

Must of caught them on a bad day. Main meal was served 40 minutes apart from the first to last on our table. Staff didn’t seem to care. Shame because the food was nice when it eventually arrived.

Me and my partner came here was really hungry we got there at 6pm and we had to wait over an hour for food and when it did come out it looked like it had been old food that had just been sitting there the food was also cold I was disappointed as we was both hungry and this isn't the first time we came before just over 12am so the pub was empty so we thought we would get food quite quickly but again had to wait over an hour if you want food this is not the place to go will not be coming back

Very poor service, food ordered messed up, then closed the kitchen before it could be corrected. Manager not helpful at all.

Waited 50 minutes for 3 meals on a quiet Wednesday evening, when the food eventually came it arrived cold, was offered a refund as the kitchen was closed and they couldn’t do us a new meal, so we had to have the food originally given. A hair was found baked into the lasagne and when mentioned at the bar the bar staff just said they will let the people in charge know.

Food was nice once we finally got it but the app for ordering drinks is terrible. Waited over 20 minutes, to which I decided to go to the bar to ask for our drinks, to witness the bartender printing of the order and place it on the bar. Waited another 10 minutes for it to be brought to our table. If you as a pub can't keep up with the app nor have the staff to do it, don't have it. Xx

Took an hour for food then they brought out the wrong food absolutely silly

Thought we'd give the place another go but wish we hadn't bothered! Barman was so miserable made no eye contact no please or thank you, nothing! The food was appalling, we had 3 meals, full breakfast where the bacon was BLACK as were the sausages and toast, mango chicken were the chicken was also black and scampi and chips which had 8 chips and the scampi was like bullets! Ordered 3 teas afterwards and waited 15 mins before going back to the bar because the barman had forgotten to make them, when he did bother had to go back and ask for spoons and sugar. And the absolute pinnacle was having to see the very large bare backside of the guy working on the fruit machine less than 3 feet from our table, utterly revolting! There definitely won't be a 3rd visit that's for sure!
