What a nice little find while visiting my brother in Sidcup. Went here last night for food and drink the service was spot on the bar staff cannot do enough for you. They made us feel welcome we watched the football as well we chatted with the locals the young students were lovely joining in the pub quiz with them it was lovely to visit this lovely pub. Well done to all keep up the good work Rob & Caz 😁👌

Great spot for a drink with friends, super fair prices on food and beverages. They have an absolutely massive garden with a screen too. As well as a Wii inside!

I visited this pub with friends expecting a nice meal ,, we was wrong now with the negative points this pub was out of stock of all food we ask for ,,NO FISH AND CHIP ,NO STEAK PIE AND OTHER FOOD NO CHIPS FOR PUB ? I was also waiting at the bar must be 10 mins could not see anyone in sight, no apologise from the bar man for the wait good customer service NOT . the place looks like it could do with a good deep clean..it was dirty around ledges ,, of window overall this pubs overall standards have drop it not the first time ,, shame because the only thing about this pub now is the garden,, and standards have drop the obouisley dont want peoples custom won't be going back in a hurry 😢 SORRY

Came down to the black horse for their Family fun day. It was a great experience with lots going on including games from the scout group and face painting with live music throughout the event. The staff here were super friendly and very quick with orders even with many people enjoying the sun in the pub's amazing gardens. Overall, it has an amazing friendly vibe and will be making a return!

Great beer garden,plenty of shade,climbing frame for kids. As always,served with a smile by Sam. All build your own burgers were tasty,served with some fries and onion rings,£5 each on a wednesday.Thankyou to the chef and all staff.

Reasonable chain pub. Both real ales were off so had to go for bottles. Great staff but daytime/afternoon weekdays usually only one bar staff who has to do drinks, food orders, running food from kitchen to tables then do clearing up. So can be a bit of a wait.

A far cry from the pub it used to be under the old management. New manager spent most of his time flirting with staff and students from the local college. Tables full of glasses and unclean and half the menu wasn’t available (on a busy weekend). A shocking downturn for such a lovely pub. Update - I returned on Monday 6th May for a quick drink with my partner. Guinness was warm and pouring with at least 50% head. Despite me telling the manager and the bar staff this, they did not seem to care and continued to waste beer and pour it away. Like I say, such a shame that this pub is uncared for compared to what it was 18 months ago.

Service behind bar poor, reason being inexperienced barmaid left on her own to cope when it required two team members. An experienced person should have noticed the problem with the beer coming out to foamy (gas problem). The food ordered was missing the item as stated on their menu. Mentioned to staff member who went to kitchen, came back stating the item was sold out. Surely we should have been informed before the food arrived. Was offered to select another item after the food was delivered to the table. Ordered two desserts, waited and waited (20 minutes), and had to ask staff member whether we were forgotten. They went and enquired, came back with the desserts, and apologised. Bar staff need to be more observant of customers waiting, as a gentleman was waiting some to be served and was overlooked.

Been to Ye Olde Black Horse a few times; they have some great events on and the atmosphere is great. I had a lovely meal here too. Would definitely recommend!

Traditional pub it is what it is. Don't expect a designer interior. Good setup for watching sports.

Ye Olde Black Horse is a local gem that continually exceeds expectations. It has a warm ambiance and outstanding customer service - Matt, one of staff members is remarkable! It's no wonder we love this place; it's always a blast and a perfect spot for a great time!

Used to go here "in my youth" so it holds a little nostalgia for me, and I've rediscovered it in the past year or so and my experience has been positive. Recently went on a very busy Friday night with football on, wanted to get a bite to eat and there were no tables free. I asked (in hope) if I could eat at the bar, fully expecting to be refused, but was pleasantly surprised when I was told that it would be fine. The food itself was decent enough by pub grub standards, although I'm always a little annoyed when you literally get two onion rings (come on guys, add-ons like these are literally as cheap as chips!) but ultimately they *just* keep their five stars based on the great atmosphere and good service.

This is a well established pub that is close to Sidcup. There is plenty of space inside and during the summer months, there are many many tables outside. There is even a tv outside so you can watch the sport in the sun. The direction of the garden means you still get the sun at the end of the day. They have a good range of beers and wines and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have a carpark to one side (but please don't drink alcohol if you are driving) and they serve a variety of food. Well worth a visit.

Toilets are horrendous ,blocked and overflowing informed staff ,told someone else sorts that out ! All users walking that into pub where people eating . 10 minutes to get served for drink!!

My husband and I are regular customers because of the positive attitude of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and customers are valued. We would especially like to commend Lucy for her outstanding customer service skills. As previously mentioned in historic reviews, the pub is often understaffed and this is frustrating for the customer. However, Lucy is able to manage this situation like a consummate professional: a rare and special quality and one that is worthy of much praise.

Highly recommended, superb grub and really luvvly friendly bar staff, live a few miles away but will definitely be making this my go to pub , and what a bonus having a great sunny garden well into the evening..spot on..🤗

A great pub with a fantastic atmosphere. Pub quizzes on Wednesday are always a laugh and competitive. The staff is friendly and kind and the drinks are always reasonably prices and given with great service. Definitely local worthy as well as being perfect for people passing through.

Nice pub, nice garden. However, they are always understaffed. Single file line coming out the door. 1 person behind the bar with a pub full of people. Waiting 45 minutes for a pint!!

Absolutely Awful....Wanted Fish and Chips but was told they didn't have any Fish...this was on Friday at 12:30pm... only the two of us in the Pub. So, ordered 2 Cumberland Sausage and mash with gravy and mushy peas with gravy. When it arrived, presentation wasn't bad. Cumberland Sausages were thin and coiled in a spiral pattern held together with a long wooden skewer, placed on a thin bed of mash inside a plate size Yorkshire pudding, with gravy and mushy peas on the side. The sausages were inedible as they had been over microwaved along with the Yorkshire pudding to the point that instead of knifes and forks, a chain saw would have been of more use. But, the lovely lady who was behind the bar was so nice, welcoming and friendly, we discreetly put the meals into a bag for the dog. Considering we were the only one's in there at the time of ordering, the kitchen was not overworked and no excuse for this. ADVICE: IF YOU WANT FOOD.... DON'T GO HERE

My local pub for 20+years nice and easy for me get looked after when I am in there as I’m a regular never no problems good team of employees. Would be nice if Greeneking would renovate the pub as it is in need inside improvements. Good garden for pub garden drinking. 🍺

I turned up at opening time (12.00), but the doors were locked. I gesticulated to the staff inside that I couldn't get in, but they just pointed to the door. This charade continued a few more times until decided to try elsewhere at 12.10 as the doors were still locked.

Been meeting here with BEXLEY scuba club for years and years. It's a good reliable old place but I've not tried the food.

Pub offers great food normally with quick service. Pub is popular Sunday lunchtime / evening and Saturday evening particularly when it has football or rugby on TV. Great Pub to bring children with nice garden and parking available in its own car park.

One of the Nice Pub I have encountered in a while, Staff is Polite and their service is also fast on Regular Day but if you will come here at Sunday there's always a rush and 1 hour waiting time on food which is mind blowing but I can understand when it's a rush it's a rush otherwise their service is fast

SKIP THIS PUB. Popped in for some lunch and a pint with my partner, needless to say we won’t be coming back. A man who I now know to be the manager is possibly the rudest and most unpleasant human we have ever encountered. If you value being treated like a decent human being (let alone a customer) I would steer clear of this place. I understand people have their bad days but from what we experienced it can only be attributed to a prejudice I do not wish to elaborate on. It seems that under his management, this pub will only be suited to a certain clientele which is aligned with the owners backwards mind.

The interior of the pub was nice. Music playing inside was to loud to hold a conversation across the table. Choice of drinks was very limited. The pup is cash only. I would only bisit again if this pub were my only choice.

This pub is amazing! I went with my wife and our little boy, and cannot complaint at all! The guy behind the counter was very friendly, food fresh and the beer cold as I like it! This is the kind of pub where I would love to work in!

Disappointing. I expected much better from a venerable brewery like Green King. Only IPA hand pumps visible and on the evening I visited there was no IPA !!! The locals did not seem bothered glugging their lagers. The food was ok, multiple choice in burgers - but it is a pub. The staff were friendly. Doubt I will visit again.
