This review is about Christmas day dinner. It was £50 per person so expected a good dinner the food was terrible and the parsnips and potatoes inedible. Everything on the plate was from frozen NO fresh and the food cold. It was so disappointing as it was the 1st time as a family to eat out on Christmas day. Cannot believe they thought it was OK to serve the food as they knew it wasn't great when put on the plate.

Had my daughter’s 11th birthday here after Crook Log couldn’t accommodate an area for food after the inflatable activity. The William Camden certainly stepped up! They reserved the family room area for us and allowed us early access to decorate. They catered for 25 children and all food was fresh, hot and delicious (massive thanks to Arina and the kitchen staff!). Pushpa went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and was attentive to when drinks needed replenishing etc. Brilliant host! The other mums were really impressed too! Thanks so much to Sumit and all the staff for having us and saving the day, and for making it a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Had a really great experience here trying out this pub for the first time. They have loads of weekday specials and today was for £5 burgers. Was very pleasantly surprised and impressed by the pricing in general even outside the specials. Food was excellent and I’d definitely come back again

Went there on Sunday evening as they were still serving and we specifically wanted fish and chips. Pub looks nice on outside quite nice on the i side but desperately needed the floors cleared as there were crisp packets on and under several tables. Ordered fish and chips and so scampi and chips. They were quite small portions. Fish tasted ok, it again small portions.

I went with my parents, we had soothing calm atmosphere , where staff is promt and efficient. We asked for a quite seating and Manager was promt enough to consider our request. Loud. Couldn’t talk. Service was good. Anyone wanting to have some quiet drinks will be met with music so loud it’s like having your parents shout at you when you were only a child.

This used to be a good pub but a pre-curry drink there early evening on a Saturday night was greeted with football commentry at a deafening level where a table of 9 couldn't hear themselves talk, as loud as a nightclub. then when the footie ended the music came on at an equally deafening level. People want a drink and a chat in a pub - if they don't want to talk to each other they go to a club!!!!

Belting music out so loud I can’t hear the person next to me is awful for a pub. I come here to sit down and chat with people, and it’s impossible to do so when the music is so loud you might as well be in a club.

Visited on 20th Sept 2024. The Pints don’t taste right, they are not good and all of them taste off, probably because the pipes are never cleaned and/or pint glasses are not washed properly! I don’t think they have ever had a visit from heath and safety or licensing!! The toilets are disgusting. On one positive some of the staff are attentive and good they clear and clean tables quickly. The meal came quick it was ok I can’t say much about it as some would say it’s pub food and not a restaurant. Other than that it’s an okish pub I won’t be going again.

I had an experience there once with my friends. We initially started with some pints, and then I thought of having some cocktails. I was confused about what to choose, so I called a bartender for assistance. Shruthi Raju came to help us. She was such a polite person, always wearing a smile with dimples. She suggested some cocktails, and they were amazing. We had a good, enjoyable time there especially in the garden area😍

Hadn’t been to this pub before - was only a night out with some friends. Didn’t realise quite how big the pub was - had a really nice size garden and there was plenty of seating inside too. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced and tasty. (I especially recommend their nachos!). I was served by Amy at the bar who was very friendly and welcoming and made our drinks super quickly! Will definitely go out of my way to come here again!

Ordered some nachos to share and they was served with zero cheese on them. Asked for more cheese and was served a separate small plate with melted cheese stuck to the plate. It was impossible to transfer onto the nachos. Don’t know why they didn’t just melt more cheese onto the nachos like we asked…. Inedible.

Staff helpful and friendly couldn't fault but food lacking, roast potatoes way overcooked and hard to eat and broccoli hard and cold, all day breakfast was nice enough but not having the beans or tomato I would have expected to be offered something else like an extra egg or slice of toast, chips looked greasy and like they'd been sat for a while, have been here before and never had cause to complain but standards dropped this time I'm afraid, overall a good pub with good food at a good price just depends if you turn up on a good day

Had booked and paid a deposit to watch euros semi finals only to arrive and been told none of the tables were being honoured. Management attitude was horrendous and treated people with bookings like villains; they should have just not taken bookings for the evening and left it as a truly walk in venue. AWFUL PUB - DO NOT GO!! *UPDATED JULY 24* Thought we'd give the pub one last go (but this time not ordering food!!) as they had bookings space for the euros semi final. Booked a table for 7pm and paid a deposit. My partner arrived in time to get the table and then the rest of the group arrived about half hour later, only to be told at the door that the pub was at capacity and they weren't allowed in, even though the table was reserved and empty. My partner spoke to the manager who was incredibly rude, as was the person on the door. Had to leave and watch at home. ----- First visited here in June 2022 with my visiting parents as we'd just moved nearby. We arrived quite late, but were told the kitchen was still open, so we ordered food. Long story short, we waited over an hour, were told repeatedly it was coming, staff who we first spoke to disappeared so we had to keep chasing, and eventually we were told over an hour and a half later by a different member of staff that the lights were off in the kitchen and the chef had gone home, so at no point was our food "on the way". We were obviously very frustrated by this as at this point we are starving, and if they'd just told us the kitchen was closed we would have had a drink and then ate elsewhere. This poor experience led to us deciding not to go back again and instead visit one of the many other lovely pubs in the area. Cut to May 2023, almost a year later... and following a refurb (which admittedly looks great), we decided to give it another try given they have a big beer garden and we had a 1 year old and her parents staying with us who wanted to be outside where the child would be less disruptive if any issues arose. Firstly, as we specifically wanted a beer garden table and you couldn't seem to book these online, I rang a week in advance to see if we could reserve one. I was told yes and that it had been booked. On the day, I rang to let them know we'd be half hour late, and discovered no booking was in the system. Thankfully they had space so rebooked. We arrive mid afternoon and have a few drinks in the sun, deciding to order an early dinner at about quarter to 6 as we'd need to get back for half 7 to put 1yo to bed. The order actually goes through at 6, and we were told that there was about half hour wait. Weird given how early it was, but we were fine with this. 50 mins later and no food has arrived. We ask the staff and are told that the kitchen is so backed up they had to stop taking orders so there's a big delay but food is coming. Strangely not a single table that we could see has any food so there must have been a miraculous surge of orders specifically between half 5 and half 6... Or the kitchen staff went AWOL...who knows? 10 mins later and the food still hasn't arrived and unfortunately a very tired 1yo has started acting up. I go in again to ask if they can give us an estimated time, as if it's going to be another half hour we probably need to get a refund and leave. The bar member checks and says it'll be 5 mins. Great! Except...only half the food turns up. Thankfully it was the parents so they could eat quickly and go back, but my husband and I spent the next 15/20 mins going back and to trying to find our order (including being given the wrong order) until we were eventually told there had been a mix up and the food had been given to the wrong people. They offered to get it on right away and for a free round of drinks, but at this point we'd given up and wanted to go back and spend time with our friends, so got a refund and went to the chippy down the road. Such a shame as it's got such high potential, the place looks fab, and to be fair all the staff I spoke to were nice and tried to be helpful. But ultimately, I've been twice over a period of 1 year, and both times the experience has been AWFUL. Maybe I'm just incredibly unlucky, or maybe they've got some real management issues behind the scenes with their kitchen. Maybe it would be fine for a few drinks, but I WOULD NOT recommend risking ordering any food if you actually want to eat.

Visited William Camden on the weekend with my friends and fair to say it has the best atmosphere out of all the pubs in the area. We ordered drinks and some food and not only were we surprised with the price at the pub, we also loved how friendly and chatty the staff was. It was a matchday and the staff not only greeted us warmly but also had a few jokes on the ongoing match which is a nice personal touch. Overall a must visit place.

I recently visited the pub with my friends on the occasion of champions league final. Not only was the atmosphere amazing, I was surprised at how welcoming and friendly the staff was despite how busy the pub was during the match. The price was completely affordable compared to many local pubs as well. Totally recommend to check out the place if you are in the surrounding area.

I was craving for something crispy any i just walked down the road and found this restaurant now this would be my Tuesday's favorite spot for fish and chips day! Crispy, golden batter encasing succulent fish fillets, served with perfectly seasoned chips. It's a classic that never disappoints.
