Rude bullying manageress demanded we leave and not welcome back We are 68 snd 63 year old women who queried the price of wine we had £29 a bottle , waitresses were lovely and we said we were sorry but declined to pay the service charge due to the price of the wine - manager accused us of being rude to her staff which was totally untrue - never would go back totally unprofessional manageress

We had my daughters engagement party upstairs and the staff and landlord could have not been any more helpful!!! Amazing group of people who made the night really special.

Went in lunchtime, felt very relaxed, staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, didn't have to wait a long time, came out hot and all at the same time.

I have been popping into the alongside arms on a pretty regular basis and I have to say it is a very good, welcoming pub. The staff are very friendly. The music is excellent for an old boy like me. No silly prices. Family friendly

Popped in for some lunch. Can’t beat the chicken wings, fish finger sandwiches and a few drinks. Staff always a joy and can’t do enough.

We have been King's Arms many times and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately on this occasion the service was rather erratic. We'd booked a booth in roof bar, to be told on arrival that it wasn't available so offered a tall table. We accepted this. Had our lunch and asked if we could move to a booth when it became available, which was agreed. We'd only been sat in the booth for 30 minutes before waitress came over and said we had to move as other customers who had booked needed it. Why those who had been sat at our original booking wasn't asked to move when we arrived is really inconsistent!!! This is such a shame. This pub came to our attention during Covid and impressed us at how well run and organised it was. Since the floor.manager has left, standards have definitely dropped.

We had a great time Sunday 25th the roof top was fab with the DJ then downstairs to the singer who was fantastic. We had a great night 👍

Sorry, but I really do not have much positive to say about this pub which I see in recent times has won accolades locally. My experience. On a very warm summer August afternoon on my first visit as a Bexleyheath resident of 17 years since the refurbushment, I ventured upstairs to the 'open invited' beer terrace. To be asked rather abrubtly - err oh sir, have you made a reservation? I replied 'No' I just wanted a quick drink but can I just stand quietly out of the way' - and in reply was told 'well in that case unfortunately no you can't stay here, and no our licence doesn't allow standing'. Fair enough. But to be straight up blunt with you guys it has left a bad taste in my mouth. NOWHERE does it say you need to have such reservation. I have done similar random business with establishments in Stratford, Hackney Wick etc with beer gardens and I have not had an issue of this nature before? Sorry but the attitude and lack of transparency is not really on is it? I will not be returning here again and I will be informing others on local platforms so they can make an informed choice also. Quite a pity really as downstairs the front of house is really well managed and the drinks etc are all in order - but in the real world it's the attitude that makes or breaks a place. I'm not a young impressionable but a 42 year old professional.

Called to enquire about this mysterious compulsory 5£ service charge, and was just hung up upon. That's quite frankly inexcusable!

Wonderful experience with wonderful food from very handsome cooks and lovely friendly staff that helps us in any way to accommodate us to feel welcome and appreciated guests. Nice atmosphere of an old English pub and gorgeous roof terrace…

Let me start by saying that this place is usually awesome. Been here loads of times for lunch, dinner, Christmas. One of our favourite places. Such a great place and fantastic vibe. Not tonight, the food seriously let us down!! Puzzled as to why? Makes no sense? Many times I’ve had the souvlaki chicken flatbread and loved it. Not tonight. It came with just chicken, lettuce and flatbread with tatsiki dressing. No cucumber olives tomatoes or onion? Or even olive oil? I should have sent it back but I’d recommended it to the party I was with who also ordered it, and I was embarrassed!! Mentioned it to waitress and she was sweet and asked if she could get more salad, but by then we were half way through and she only mentioned getting tomatoes! She was really sweet so we just ploughed on. Didn’t want to make a fuss. At then end of the meal we paid and we’re asked if we enjoyed it. I was truthful and said no. They were very apologetic and offered us a glass of wine. We accepted but that wasn’t the point. Just would have been better to have the meal we thought we’d ordered. Won’t put us off going back as we know they are better than this. Must have been just an off night for the chef. Hope for better next time please.

Great place, great staff, friendly atmosphere

Was seated in dinning area the the wooden table needed the gaps cleaned out lots of crumbs in them. Service good, food average,Luke warm. My partner ordered the triple meat meal which costs more than a normal roast and was disappointed has no difference in size to my roast the 3 different meats were small slices not worth having for the money.

We went in on a Saturday afternoon, it’s been a while since we were in but I’m pleased to say nothing has changed, new staff to me but same as all the others, professional and courteous, food was insane, me and my son had the cheese bacon burger and it was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, we certainly won’t be leaving it so long for our next meal 😊

The live music is awesome, customers at these gigs are always happy and friendly as are the musicians and we all sing along, dance and have so much fun. The managers are awesome. Only one slight criticism, I think some of the drinks are a bit overpriced i.e the G&T's but the draft Inches and Aspalls ciders are priced roughly the same as in other local pubs. I'll be back soon, thanks guys 😁

This is just pub grub. Nothing special. We were expecting something excellent but unfortunately it was basic expensive pub food. The chicken and beef what exactly was that, it was rubbery!. The vegetables tasteless, frozen?! potatoes were good. Service charges included but no real service! Kitchen to table it's a pub! Other pubs who serve food do not include service charges. Overall claims to be home cooked locally sourced food, Did not taste anything like such! and far too expensive for what it is. Definitely would not revisit.

Visited The King's Arms several times over the past few years whilst visiting family in Bexleyheath. Great place, great atmosphere and a brilliant sun terrace.

Have been going here for years however it has really gone downhill recently. The staff are miserable and rude, vaping all day in the restaurant and just chatting amongst themselves rather than serving their customers.

We hosted an event at The Kings Arms recently and honestly had the best day. The attention to detail was amazing- taking such good care of members of our party with dietary requirements. The space was amazing (we used the roof terrace), the staff were amazing, from the organisation to looking after us on the day- Shell, Karolina, Sarah, Tom, Nells & Naya- all so friendly & so much fun. So many people who came to the event hadn’t been to the kings arms/the roof terrace before & all commented on how great it was. The buffet food was delicious- people are still talking about it days later! Cocktails- especially the frozen 1s- went down amazingly! Always our favourite pub in Bexleyheath, but this was well & truly cemented over the weekend. Thank you all & we’ll see you soon! 💚

Such a great pub! My GF Jess organised my 30th birthday here! Staff where amazing! So friendly and they helped organise my surprise along with Jess and honestly we all had the best night!!! Food was amazing and the House DJ was fantastic! Highly recommend! thank you so much!

Had a beef roast dinner. It was nice but not 'outstanding' the beef was cooked beautifully but it was a bit stingy on vegetables. The way that it was presented meant that the potatoes lost any potential crisp they may have had before being plated because the meat and gravy was placed on top of them. This was a little disappointing as everyone loves a crispy roast potato. Overall it was nice though and these things won't stop me from returning.

Roast beef is £18.95, chicken is £16.50 and so is pork. However if you want all 3 it's £19.50 does make sense as you are getting 2 lots of the cheaper meat. Food wasn't bad, bit dry and cauliflower cheese is £5. Probs on par with toby carvery.

One of the best British pubs in the local area. How the current owner has transformed the interior, outside roof terrace and the menu is just amazing. Always a very friendly atmosphere, family friendly as well as a great night out with friends. The menu is fantastic, have eaten here 4 times and have never been disappointed. They also do a 2 course lunch menu which includes a glass of house wine for £18.

First visit for Easter Sunday 9 of us roast was very good also Vegan option was good. Desert menu was good also. Service was excellent and will return

Great evening, nduja pasta was a stand out. Sharing Camembert and bread plates were delicious and perfect for our group. Attentive staff, frequent check backs and quick service. Highly recommend especially for larger groups.

We went as a family of five for Mother’s Day - initial impression was good but then came the food. Our waitress took the order without notes commenting that she’d been doing this for years - one of the starters was wrong and everyone else had finished by the time it arrived. The mushroom pate on toast was so unappealing and tasted of anything but mushrooms. I was asked if I wanted something else but declined as we had already waited ages. The roast beef was tough, the potatoes insipid and the vegetables stone cold. The virtually untouched plates were removed with the “was everything ok” comment. We saw lots of plates going back virtually untouched - the bill was a shade under £200 for two courses which I would happily pay for decent food. Maybe the restaurant was just overstretched and they had taken too many bookings. I do appreciate the excellent reviews but on this occasion and our experience it was a ruined Mother’s Day that we won’t ever get back.

Always enjoy the food here however on this occasion l had to send back my cambert sharing starter as was like spreading butter as over cooked. Had to ask how long our mains would take as service was very slow even though it was 15:30 and restaurant was only half full. Had to ask for extra gravy as not enough on our roast.

Always a great friendly atmosphere. A surprisingly varied menu for a pub, and great value for money. We go here fairly often, with the family and a catch up night with the girls. Staff always friendly, helpful and in good spirits. Excellent Roast dinner on Sundays, they have a lunch special menu during the week and a good choice of main meals. They hold fun quiz nights, family movies and have a little cubby of board games and a dart board to have a enjoyable time with your friends or family.

Can always guarantee having a good time and good food where we come. Service is friendly and welcoming. The menu is often changing with the seasons, never had the same thing twice. Cocktails are amazing. Offers quiz nights, bingo nights, movie nights and live music. I would recommend.

At present I am in a wheelchair, had been told this was accessible for wheelchairs. The entrance has a step, no worries, staff were very quick to bring a ramp. All staff were very attentive & helpful. Food was very tasty & value for money. Will definitely go back. Disabled toilet was very clean.

Been to Sunday lunch today at The KINGS ARMS today ... Was told the rooftop terrace was nice ... Its a ski theme on the terrace so old wooden cable spools for tables and smaller one for chairs ,... Had a lovely starter of fresh cooked spicy wings made in the pub there were stunning and a chorizo prawn toast in creamy sauce which was stunning and tasty... I had a couple of standbys and the mixed meat Sunday roast that was very good ... I admit I did indulge in the afters which was a .ixed very crumble and ice cream for the big eaters out there.. that was a 10 out of 10 for me I'm a sweet toothed guy.. 💯👍 ... our waitress Sarah was very attentive and proffesional alot of young people seem not so enthusiastic about there jobs not so for sarah smiling proffesional and couteous. 12 of us had our Xmas Doo here last night, the food, from mussels, burgers, fish, steak to ice cream was fabulous. The staff worked their socks off to keep the table clear and replenish drinks. The place was rammed, but never felt uncomfortable. A good mix of people creating a great atmosphere. Well worth a visit, best pub in Bexleyheath

Really nice pub, used to come here over 20 years ago and it is so much better. Very welcoming, spacious and warm. Can't wait to revisit! Quite busy when I was here but service was decent. Only complaint was that one young male bartender had not much sense of service - he was either playing with his phone (even while working) or serving the person in front of him - not who was next.

Wow. Firstly, what a transformation! The pub looks amazing, the beer selection was great and well as having a great atmosphere about the whole place. The roof top terrace was very relaxed and a great addition.

You can see why they win best pub all the time. They create this atmosphere that welcomes locals and newcomers all at once. Lovely buzz, lovely staff. Recommend highly for food, drink and frivolity.

Pre Booked many weeks in advance for a birthday dinner, arrived to be shown to a bar table which was not suitable for an evening meal. Asked to be moved to the table in the zone we had booked. Told that the system had automatically changed the zoning and there was nothing that could be done. Pressed the issue and was then moved to another area, right outside the kitchen entrance and waiting staff station. Table had not been set up fully, asked again about the table we had booked as it was available and empty, told a bigger party had booked It and their booking too preference. Went to order for starters and mains, staff took order, then came back 5 mins later to say 2/3 choices were not available. This was start of the evening service and they were already out of many items, staff obviously had not had a briefing from the kitchen before service. When we said this was not really acceptable told by the waiting staff it was not her problem and she had already had along and stressful day. I am not sure why that is the problem of the customer, she then went on to be even more rude and objectionable. Ask to speak to the manger who was completely uninterested at all and could not get away fast enough. We decided to leave at this point, was not acknowledged at all. I would think long and hard about booking this pub for dinning and certainly would not recommend for a special occasion. We will not be returning.

Walked in for lunch whilst shopping in Bexleyheath just myself and my mum. We were apprehensive at first as only a handful of people in but decided to give it a go. We were given a warm greeting by a friendly guy We were pleasantly surprised by the menu not your average pub grub our starter of chestnut mushrooms on ciabatta was really tasty. We will definitely be coming back .

Pub as no other!!! Mostly because of the great atmosphere. Every member of the staff here is extremely friendly which as you all probably know is not a common thing in other places. Definitely the best pub in Bexleyheath ❤️

What a gem of a place. Attended a West End Theatre song night, and it was brilliant, top-class entertainment. This pub deserves its recent award. Highly recommended.

The meal today was great and the staff were very pleasant and welcoming as usual. Our waitress was new and very polite . I had the tortellini which was lovely

abit disappointed with the roast, menu says pork comes with crackling which was not included and veg was half burned. Told the staff they said oh yeah we don’t have cracklings today not even apologise for it. Staff couldn’t care saw my toddler but didn’t bring children’s menu had to ask for it. Hubby had burger and it was tasteless apparently. Such a shame it’s a pub close to us so we would like to give it a second chance.

Delicious meal tonight. Possibly the best Sticky Toffee pudding I have ever had! Travelled all the way across the Atlantic, from Penetanguishene, Canada. And it was well worth the journey!

Great food which arrived in good time and was hot. Staff were very friendly and tentative making sure we were ok for drinks which sounds obvious but most places you go to now lack that service.

I would not go there only if it is to disco time. After that, I would not even sit my bum there. Too expensive for drink, best place to go is wetherspoons. Cheaper

My sister and I visited The Kings Arms yesterday for lunch. After ordering our drinks we looked at the lunch time menu and found it uninspiring and if we had not got our drinks would have left. We finally found something to order and it was nicely presented. While we were waiting for our food a party of 4 came in looked at the menu and left as they could not find anything suitable. The staff were friendly and efficient but we will not be dining there again.
